Dear sir, I am an Egyptian young man and I watch all your videos on UA-cam. I have a question. Could you please help me know which sentence is correct? Tank you so much. The end of their lives matches the ending of Her book The end of their lives matches the ending in Her book The end of their lives matches the end of Her book The end of their lives matches the end in Her book
Greg, I don't have enough words to say how brilliant your classes are. I'm a big fan of your work. I always share with my friends who are in the process of learning English. Thank you so much!
Exelent video dear GREG !!!, YOU are so clear and help me to refresh what I learned at the academy ...long time ago 😅😅.Now I 'm going to watch it again ,to be more confident !!THANKS A LOT !!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Hello Greg. Thanks a lot for this video. I have a question about the example you gave at 14:50. I would have said : "she asked him what he would be doing that time the day after". What do you think about it? Have a good day
Thank you for your brilliant video sir, but i have a request for me that you must upload a video on all preposition preposition makes me confused sometimes
All very useful, thank you. A litlle large. A comment, do a video to explain wether, I hate it because I dont know haw to use it ❤from Argentina greetings🤗😘👍
Why we don't change "were" (engagements were) to Past Perfect in the following example: Direct speech: Grandma: When I was your age, engagements were very short… maybe 3 months. Do you think you will have a short or long engagement? Woman: I imagine a long one. John has his important business trips coming up. Reported speech: It was good! She asked me when we thought we would get married. I said that I didn’t know. Then she told me that in her time, engagements were short. Then she asked me if I thought we would have a short or long engagement.
Would it be possible to replace the "What will you be doing this time tomorrow?" question for a "She asked me what I was going to be doing for this time today" rephrasing?
Sir please a video on past participle, present participle and perfect participle and please cover all the uses of these if you make a video you will make it easy for us as it is advanced grammar
Dear teacher, I'd like to know if these sentences sound OK in English, especially regarding the usage of 'less' and 'short' 1. Despite this being festive season, business is less / short for us. 2. Being a holiday, buses are short today. 3. My knowledge of science is less / short. Please help me.
Hi! I'm Etienne from eastern Africa ; teacher Greg how can i fluency English wile i live where i can't find a native English speaker even a fluwent one.thanks for your help.
Is it the same with these sentences? I thought he was happy or I thought he is happy Or in a different case : i thought he had been happy I wanted to use backshifting cause it looks similiar to reported speech Alternatively with a Word "promise" : I had promised i would do it the following day
Hey, Greg! I have already watched some of your videos. I love the way you teach. However, I have a doubt in this video. I think you just focused only on backshifting the tense in the reported speech, not on changing the words of time and place accordingly. For example, "Have you been living here long?" Your answer was: She asked whether I had been living here long. As far as I know.. When we use "here", then it means the speaker still lives in the same place, so he/she doesn't have to backshift the tense and can keep up the present perfect continuous (have been living). Or, if we backshift the tense, we should change "here" into "there" as well. So, I don't know why you didn't change the time and place words accordingly. If you reply to me regarding this, it will be very helpful for me to understand the reported speech better.

Can I say: They said they have been practising for hours. If yes, is it still reported speech? And similar: The chef said he will be cooking later. Instead of using 'would'. (AI said it is also correct)
Dude, in everyday English(informal English) we don't follow that rule, for example, "I'm doing my homework", would be "he said he's doing his homework". But if you wanna stick to the grammar, it'd be like this " he said he was doing his homework". Hope it helps.
Just a questio. We discussed here following sentences: He is going to New York. Vs He is to New York And Shipping point is to be determined. Vs Shipping point is to determined. Both sentences are correct, but when do you use which sentence?
@@fabianabevis9890 Well I can't know all the terms for different types of hats so thanks for telling me, but I will still continue to refer to it as peasant cap lol.

Hey, profe!
and what about here - there, this - that, now - then. I think those should be part of Rule #4
Have a good day
You too!
Hi; I can't download and get the worksheet ! Nothing in my boxmail !
Passive Voice is more complex compared to Reported Speech which is quite simple and just requires following the rules.
