Hi teacher, l liked this lesson, It was exciting to see the two sister working together .you were down to a T explaining everything with a lot of detail thanks for helping me to better my English grammar👍🏽
good morning from Italy, happy new year and thanks for the video. as other listeners said I've found this rule a little strange. I understood the rule but I miss the logic. if Audra told me just a second ago that she is (was) fine and I immediately report it to my friend who i'm talking (by phone) i would say "audra told me (that) she is fine" because only three seconds have passed, so she is still fine. so my question is : in the everyday life do you use this rule ? or is it quite formal and actually you say to your friend "Audra ( has just) told me she IS fine". thank you for your work !!
Hi - I enjoy watching your videos because I'm tutoring an English Language Learner and your explanations are so useful in that context. But I disagree with the sentence "I have tattoos" in direct speech being changed to "She had tattoos." because they're not gone; she still has them. It seems to me that it would be reported as "Audra said that she has tattoos." Unless she had them removed. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Hola Emma, feliz navidad desde Mexico city, I Love all your lessons!!! I have mamy years learning from a talented girl! Thanks a lot for your lessons dear.
Thank you so much dear Teacher. your videos are great and liked so much the way that you teach us. I would like so much that you to be my sister in law.
Istead of using 'the following week' in reported speech, can I use 'the next week' ? For example: " I will lend you my car next week.'' He said. => He said he would lend me his car the next week. Is this sentence correct?
Why we don't change "were" (engagements were) to Past Perfect in the following example: Direct speech: Grandma: When I was your age, engagements were very short… maybe 3 months. Do you think you will have a short or long engagement? Woman: I imagine a long one. John has his important business trips coming up. Reported speech: It was good! She asked me when we thought we would get married. I said that I didn’t know. Then she told me that in her time, engagements were short. Then she asked me if I thought we would have a short or long engagement.
How to put the correct punctuation marks if you are going to use two quoted text ? And your reporting clause is in between? How to write it in a proper way? Like this: "You should go home early," her workmate says, "You look tired. -is this correct? If not WHY?

Istead of using 'the following week' in reported speech, can I use 'the next week' ?
For example: " I will lend you my car next week.'' He said. => He said he would lend me his car the next week.
Is this sentence correct?
Please keep it on this is really helping
Thank you so much.
Thank you for your efforts

Direct speech: Grandma: When I was your age, engagements were very short… maybe 3 months. Do you think you will have a short or long engagement?
