When Greg posts a new video I watch it. If I subscribe this channel my english will be better. If i had more time i would watch all Greg's videos. If I hadn't been so lazy I would've practiced in english conditionals every day. Thx Greg!
Es tan fácil entender el inglés así. Usted es un maravilloso profesional y una gran persona por compartir su talento con las personas que quieren hablar bien el inglés ❤bendiciones.
It seems to me you're the best English teacher on youtube and I have seen quite a bit of them. My compliments to you Greg and greetings from Italy ☀️💖🍀
I'm not sure if memorizing incorrrect phrases to learn what the correct ones should be is a good idea. You'll forget the rhyme word, and the intent will be lost soon after, but the structure will stick. When in doubt, I always reach for a few correct examples I remembered ("If it rains tomorrow, we'll get wet" or woman singing "If I were a boy..." etc.), and never for wrong ones.
Greg, could you please tell me a little bit more about the course you give on What's up! Is it easy to join? I'm a little bit afraid of how I can manage the tecnic! I like the way you teach! ❤
Here is a sample from the book 'Sir Nigel' by Arthur Conan Doyle: Black Simon’s dark face was shining with a fierce joy. “Fair sir, I will ever be your debtor if you will let me go." Here is another example from this book: “Simon,” said Aylward, “the light is not overgood and the place is cramped for sword-play, but if you will step out into the open I will teach you whether my master is a true soldier or not.”
I think these example sentences fall into the "exceptions to the general rule" category; "will" is permitted in the if-clause when it's being used as a modal verb (rather than auxiliary) to politely express willingness or wish: "I will warm some water for tea, if you WILL excuse me." Another exception is when the action in the if-or-when clause takes place AFTER the action in the main clause: "If aspirin will ease my headache, I will take a couple tonight."
Respected sir, that you are the greatest grammarian of this generation admits of no doubt. You are, therefore, requested with folded hands to join the following sentences with Adverbial Clause -He doesn't work hard.He may fail the exams. My probable answers are -If he doesn't work hard,he may fail the exams/he will fail the exams.Sir,as it is a First Conditional, which auxiliary verb the principal clause will take -may or will?
Greg, could you please explain the fact that in books (for example in the Sherlock Holmes Stories) there are many examples when the 1 conditional are used with 'will' in both parts of the sentences (Sherlock Holmes often constructs his sentences like that)?
I understand all what you said in this video, I'm not very clever but you can open my mind to learn that beautiful language! Thanks a lot Greg for all your classes!
Even the mixed conditionals are kind of confusing, but sometimes I know how to use them in a sentence (depends of the situation). The only way to easily understand the grammar is by using them in a sentence and when we're speaking.
Thank you for this explanation!🙂🙂🙂 I have a question. Why did you use ''wasn't'' but not ''weren't'' in the example ''If the final wasn't in a different country,I would havebought a ticket''? My understending is/was that in all cases/examples in second conditional if clause you have to use 'were' not 'was'. Please explaine this nuance🙏🙏🙏
Hi Greg, you are highly appreciated for sharing your knowledge with us to bless us. However, may I request that you turn this lesson (Conditional sentence) into a book, for the sake of students, learners of English speaking like me & future generations. Even if the pages are not more than 10, pls do it. Many thanks -Moses
I just had a chance to watch this incredibly vital video. However, what caught my attention the most, even more than learning about all types of the complicated MIXED conditionals, was the example sentence given by Mr. Greg when explaining the SECOND conditionals. I've always taught my students this sentence in the following order: If you heat ice, it melts. Or Ice melts, if you heat it. Still, we can't say for sure that what the teacher said here is not correct. I mean, at the end of the day, he is the Native teacher, not us. I hope Mr. Greg will elaborate on this. PS Great video.
@English_with_Greg Please check 14:00 of your video (something is wrong there :) ) PS: please correct my sentence if you may :D I haven't known how to type this :) BTW Great video!
There are normally 12 main tenses in main English grammar. Does the inclusion of conditional tenses which you’ve explained very well Greg, mean there’s really 16?
ok here is the situation: the cleaners didn’t come to clean up the room and I had to do it by myself so I said thats ok at least I don’t have to go to work tomorrow I can clean up by myself. But “if I had work tomorrow I would have killed them” for not coming. So even if I mean future work I still say HAD?
There are conditions like this for example: If I were taller, I would have a better chance at becoming a professional basketball player.very confusing. Help me greg
Thanks sir for awesome teaching conditional sentences. Sir, may i request asking about 2nd hypothetical saying future condition & future result. Is it not hypothetical present codition & hypothetical present result.? Ex. If i were monkey I would bite u. Please clarify again.❤
Second example if/when... when you heat ice , it melts Ice melts when you heat it. (It should be, right?) Instead, you said "ice heats ,when you melt it
Si los condicionales no son difíciles para ti, intenta aprenderlos en otra lengua que no sea la tuya, para que llegues a comprender la dificultad que encierra aprender otro idioma.
My idea for third condicional: If the alies in the second world war had made landing in the The Balkans, most of Europe probably wouldn´t have communist regime. Is it correct? 🙂
"If I had won the lottery I would have bought a new car" This is a hypothetical sentence but not impossible. Why you said that the third conditional is used only in hypothetical and impossible situations? Clarify it, please.
Zero conditional is for facts and things that always happen...this is clear and simple thanks

Thank you! This is a very helpful summary of all the conditionals!
Thank you Greg! Lovely session 👍🏻

May be a poetic style option in written. But it shouldn't be grammatically correct!Be careful.
there is contradiction between explanations regarding 2nd conditional.... 12:45 & 16:41 which one is correct ???
I am grateful for the transcript .
Thank you 🎉❤
Hello greg, i love your videos, they are good and its much easier to improve in English anf the accents.
Keep it up Greg! ✅

*could have qualified that the second conditional doesn't always include 'will' but fair enough. Nicely presented
I learned only 3 type of conditionals, but now I now all!
Great explanation
Thanks for this video.
Because of this video i understand this types of conditional 💙👏

Hey Greg, instead of buttering you up writing one more comment, I'd rather press several thumb up pics. Briefly: excellent video.
You explained quite clear tnx
Ice heat when you melt it.. Perfect 😂😂👌👌👌👍👍

If i hadn`t known about this lesson, I would have regretted it.
Hi Greg, would you please tell, what is BAM ACTION as you say. ??
U are great sir thanks for teaching❤
If I hadn't known who this chap was, I would have taken him for Daniel Lind Lagerlöf.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Greg, are you sure that ice heats, when you melt it? 3:26

Great video.
I think it‘s not what he actually wanted to say. A little mix up
Thanks a lot
please make a video on determiners
thanks teacher
Please make a separate video for mixed conditionals 🙌
I have one on my channel. Have a search for “mixed conditionals English with Greg” 👌🏻
Thank You very much for your great video. Unfortunaley, I can't download the free pdf.
if i see Greg's videos i'll learn english
3:27 - "Ice heats when you melt it" ??? or "Ice melts when you heat it" ;)
Hi.
Which conditional is used with imperative. Could you tell me please?
@English_with_Greg Please check 14:00 of your video (something is wrong there :) ) PS: please correct my sentence if you may :D I haven't known how to type this :) BTW Great video!
Where is the link😊
If i had passed the entrance exam, i wouldn't have here in this place. ❤
Sorry, an amazing explanation

In which hypothetical situation use 2nd and 3rd condtionals present past and future because 2nd and 3rd conditionals sound similar in real life?
have you ever taken a role in 3D body problem

Ex. If i were monkey I would bite u.

i have a test coming up tomorrow and if I don't practice today, I wont get a good grade. See what I did there?😂
Yes, you left the apostrophe off “won’t” 😊 (“wont” is a word that means something else)
18:50 if the final weren't in a different country, I would have bought a ticket. Why did you use "wasn't"?
Second example if/when...
when you heat ice , it melts
Ice melts when you heat it. (It should be, right?)
Instead, you said "ice heats ,when you melt it
😊😊😊
I hadn't watched this lesson I wouldn't qualifed my exam
what is number of this condition:
Well, if there's a bright center
to the universe... you're on the planet
that it's farthest from.
That first part was everything ...thank you IF = RESULT
Si los condicionales no son difíciles para ti, intenta aprenderlos en otra lengua que no sea la tuya, para que llegues a comprender la dificultad que encierra aprender otro idioma.
🙏🙏🙏
Why can't I say If I meet Shakira my heart would go crazy? I'm still thinking in Bulgarian and this structure sounds good to me
I guess you have to use the 2nd conditional so you have to say if I met Shakira my heart would go crazy. The situation is hypothetical
Ice melts when you heat it
But "when" doesn't show conditional just the meaning, right?
Thank you for you lessons ❤ just for a note - your speech is a little difficult to follow cause it's very fast.
My idea for third condicional:
If the alies in the second world war had made landing in the The Balkans, most of Europe probably wouldn´t have communist regime. Is it correct? 🙂
If you go in Paris, you will see the effiel tower.
If you go to Paris, you will see the Eiffel Tower.
Why not, what would you have BECAME but become
You have to use the past participle with “have”. I become, I became, I have become. It’s an irregular verb.
"If I had won the lottery I would have bought a new car" This is a hypothetical sentence but not impossible. Why you said that the third conditional is used only in hypothetical and impossible situations? Clarify it, please.
impossible situation in the Past
@@TOP-YT-UNIVERSE Thanks!
It's a hypothetical situation...
the past condition is unreal, therefore the result is unlikely to occur.
thank u crack i ador you verry filmpje ent ich habe e quarstion. Ar yoe a NPC? becuz you ar verry robet like.
