The little plate and spring that you showed in the video, are they only on the intake sprockets or should they also be present on the exhaust sprockets ? I'm working on rebuilding an FA20 out of an FRS and I'm seeing online pictures for a replacement exhaust cam sprocket don't show the plate but replacement intake cam sprockets do show the staked in place plate.
Hey guys im building a fa20 for my frs i took vvt gears apart cleaned them all looked good and put it back together but once i timed my engine and spin it by hand every time the passenger side bank squeezes the valves down it makes a hard clicking noise is that due to no oil pressure at the moment or is something wrong i have taken that gear apart twice and even went as far as swapping it from a donor engine i have and same thing clicks and click any help is appreciated
Sounds good but yeah hopefully he doesn't have to. We had a customer who is rebuilding them at the moment so we recorded this to help him out and anyone else in the future.
Amazing thank you! I’ve found the torque spec for the three mounting bolts which is 18Nm, can’t seem to find the specs for the other six though, I assume it’s the same
@@klawz1801 yes, 18Nm is correct for the Camshaft sprocket/gear. That's what is in our system but no further detail for the other bolts but the same would be ok. Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
@@adamhewie1962 @davidkungu7802 Thanks both for the feedback. Agreed. Our pace and editing was a bit all over the place in this video as it wasn't planned, but we've worked on it gotten much better in our more recent videos. Here is one on installing Kelford camshafts but in a GR Yaris: ua-cam.com/video/nOMSOvNR9Hk/v-deo.html Appreciate you watching regardless!
Let us know if you've got any other questions about the VVT system or FA20 engine. 👇

@turt1e sounds right, exhaust and intake are different 👍
Awesome, thanks for this little tidbit of how the VVT looks from the inside
No problem at all

Do you know the torque specs for the 6 bolts and the other 3 mounting bolts?
I’ll see if I can look it up for you in our trade system

What's the rush?? Can't get what your talking about.
'that thing there, that pin there... " 😒
Not in the least bit informative. Slow down and the other guy to keep quiet.

useless cutting floor mess
Are you trying to rebuild your VVT at the moment?
i am preparing to. I have tried watching this 6 times. I appreciate the effort. Not an affective teachingtool for me.@@denstoj
