I was a student in Liverpool from 2002 to 2004. Hated university life to be honest but my escape from a life I didn't really want was to really immerse myself in the city itself and the people. I'm a working class lad from Wolverhampton so I fitted in well. One of my mental escapes was to go walking around Sefton Park at night. I had no idea Lark Lane existed. You can imagine my surprise when one night I just discovered it by accident, an enchanted street in the most unexpected place and so full of places to eat and drink etc. A real gem. Loved it
Used to go out to Liverpool every weekend in the late 1980s and 90s from Lancs, scousers started working on our side of Lancashire and invited us to Liverpool for a night out , it went on for over a decade , fantastic times with fantastic people. Only stopped because of job changes .
I love Liverpool it’s always vibrant and bubbly. The people of Liverpool always made me feel welcomed whenever I visited the beautiful city. Love from Birmingham. Great video Billy. 🙏🏾💜
Love watching your videos Billy. I left Liverpool in 2005 to work in Korea/China and it was great to see Lark Lane buzzing as I used to go there a lot when I lived in Aigburth. In contrast, years before that I also lived in Tuebrook, so it was really sad to see what was going down in Sheil road. Keep up the great work mate.
Lark Lane used to be a great mix of quirky shops and people but seems to have become a victim of its own success, a bit like South road in waterloo it's become not much more than wine bars, pubs and restaurants. There were some great shops, Wallas pie shop, Hicklins motorcycles, Norman's DIY, The Rushton garage and many more. I used to buy chips from Andy's, or Andi's as it used to be back in 1981, 👍
Fair play Billy ..showing us its not all doom and gloom ❤ I'm over a fair bit to the city with my LFC supporters club for games and tbh we've never had a problem in Liverpool in over 20 yrs..scousers seem to love us Irish 😂
Nice that you show a positive side to the city. Not been to the UK for 5 years now but visiting Liverpool in October from my new home in WA, looking forward to it, go Liverpool
Had a top weekend in Liverpool last year, stayed in airbnb in edge hill- top pubs were Shannanigans and Red Lion (i think). Sound people, good crack - loved it. Only gripe was i couldn’t find a non halal fry up on saturday morning walking all way through town to albert docks
Great video Billy. The memories. I worked in the Old Police Station for a charity in the mid 80s. The building was a proper TARDIS! Much bigger inside than it looked. Not as many bars and restaurants back then but a boss local community with a village feel. Always remember a gun shop next door to the post office! 😂
I watched your video and recognised the road when Billy walked past it. Thought he might of mentioned it but he musn't have seen the vid. Keep up the great content mate!
Liverpool, the best city on earth. Praying these aliens and the establishment doesn't find cracks in the system to exploit, one of the few places in the uk where unity is still high within the native people. YNWA. It is still legal to call them aliens...isn't it???😂
Hi Billy, love your attitude pal ...Lark Lane comes alive at night .... I've driven through it at night but with work not pleasure. I must have a pint there ...keep safe and happy ,Gary 🙏
I only live five mins away and to my shame have not visited for a night out for years. I only found out it had gone to a one way street the other week, as for The old Lark Lane Police Station, I can remember it when it was a working Bridewell. Showing my age now. Brilliant Video 👍
I absolutely can't thank the Liverpool Royal hospital pancreatic team enough they saved my life after my pancreas went necrotic due to a stuck gallstone in the pancreatic duck I spent 8 month's in the old royal and everyone was awesome and this is why Liverpool will always hold a special place in my heart
0 seconds ago One of my favourite haunts in Liverpool and I'm a cockney who's been ere for over 20 years now so seen and lived all over Liverpool.....2 Scouse children and met all types of people but I must say Lark Lane, Sefton Park is one of my best places to be in....And that opinion is based on both London and Liverpool!! 👏🏿😎💙🥳💯👀🥂🍾🤗
I was a regular in The Albert in the mid 90s. Legend has it that Hitler stayed there when visiting his dad after WW1. His dad certainly lived in Liverpool (Upper Stanhope St) but there's no proof that Adolf ever visited.
Used to work in Lark Lane way way back in the 80’s upstairs in the old police station. Loved Lark Lane back then and still love it now. Changed a lot over the years but it’s always been a bohemian place. Thanks for the video.
Crazy when I see 'night out in Liverpool' being in lark Lane. Was only small but lived in Aigburth Drive.Lark Lane then was a different place.Used to be an a small Mexican restaurant there, family new the owners, always remember my friend making garlic bread for me.Happy days😊

I agree with you the last video you did in the city and it was just messy and a bit dark,I’d been a few times and kept not enjoying it, sad as in my eyes it’s the greatest city but this is our plan next to hit lark lane instead of town so nice one for this little look around bill have a good week😊
Cheers Bill, never knew this place existed and we've been coming up to Liverpool a few times a year for ages. Usual night out for us is Ranelagh street, Mount Pleasant and Great Charlotte street, plenty of great pubs and good people.
I'm giving my age away here but I remember when Keith's Wine Bar first opened. In those days the licensing laws were stricter and the pubs closed at 10:30 but if you were eating you could drink until midnight. We'd head to Keith's for a bottle of wine and a sandwich. Happy days!
HEY BILL IN THE 80s I LIVED IN HARGREAVES ROAD OF LARKY AT THE TIME ME AND HER LIVED IN THIS MASSIVE HOUSE WE WENT THE DIVORCE GAFF THE JUDGE SAID HE'S SPLITTING THE HOUSE IN HALF GAVE HER THE INSIDE AND ME THE OUTSIDE
Alright Billy love your vids, I been in trenches my friend, was Judder in Swansea Prison in 1997, I can remember two Scousers, they were alright good guys.
Lark Lane was named after the Lark bird and most of the lane was built using slave money from the slave trade in the 1800s. There's been a few murders there too back in the day of course. The Albert pub and the masonic were also used as a mortuary, some really interesting history in and around the area of lark Lane, more than I can write on a UA-cam comment 😅
Lark lane safer than any place in town, Theres a real community sense there and people make sure u feel safe, where as town is just full of coked up students and crackheads making u feel unsafe.
Proper let me down there Billy lad, thought you’d get the phone number from the girl in the thumbnail with the Green Top for me……gutted now!! 🤣🤣🤣 Wishing I was in my late teens & early 20s again…… Don’t tell the Wife, I’m blaming the Tango Zero 🤣🤣🤣
