I was once a full on drugstore makeup kind of girl because we didn’t have money growing up. Then when I started working, I was spending way too much money on makeup! I was enjoying the pretty packaging, great formulas, luxury brand names. But lately I grew tired of it. Of spending more than I can afford on beautiful things. At the end of the day they’re just that - pretty things. I will start buying more affordable products again, when and where I can, and leave the expensive ones for my birthday and New Years gifts to myself. For special occasions. It’s best to buy less and that of great quality then a lot of cheap stuff anyways.
You inspire me to make beautiful makeup again with more affordable products. :)

Dear Katie, I know you must be busy lately as you're not uploading as frequently as you used to, but I LOVE your videos! They're always so easy to recreate, especially because I'm a college student and would rather spend my money in books than for expensive makeup and brushes!
I have freckles and greyish green eyes and I'm quite pale with light brown hair. It's very difficult for me to do my makeup, because it easily looks overdone because I'm so light colored. Any suggestions? Or maybe a makeup tutorial? I would be glad!

I'd be careful about handling the skin overly much, also don't tug downward on the skin.
Do not tug downward on your facial skin as this can lead to damage and leads to lines and wrinkles. When applying makeup or even in making any application of a Facial Moisturizer, one must always apply it with an upward motion to prevent the development of facial sagging and facial wrinkles. I was told this 33 years ago while receiving a facial in a salon. I've been using this application technique ever since and I've since reached retirement age. I think that the upwards motion has actually been better for my skin. The lesson here is -🙂 always be gentle with your face and the skin surrounding it.

The model is really lovely, but her hair has been styled with that hank that hangs down & always looks so tacky. I've never seen Kate wear her hair that way - enough class, I think. Whereas, Meghan seems to always (or at least frequently) pull that hank out. I think this is a really crummy style & way overdone.
I never considered a scarf as "funky" I thought that was a word used in the 70 by people that played funky music. Like "Sly and the family Stone" Funkadelly, but let a white women that does make up get a hold of it and it a "funky scarf" and a Kate Middleton make over.
Pat Stokes No, that is not a funky look. The shawl both Kate and Princess Diana wore was because they were in Muslim countries. There is of course, funky music and named a few bands. Today, the haircut I wear is considered funky. I have my sides shaved, one completely, the back until it reaches the crown of my head, the other side is half-way shaved. Since I was an original ginger, I maintain a basic darker red, then coppers and a streak of black in the front. THAT is badass/funky. The Duchess appears classy where ever she goes, and anyone going out at night puts heavier, more dramatic makeup on. I didn't like the way the "artist" applied the makeup at all. Lip liner goes on first, covers both upper and lower lips, then you apply the lipstick. Powder is used to even everything out, then use a setting spray. The model does resemble Kate a great deal. The artist just seemed to be pettleing products like Almay, etc.
It's a very aging/dated look.

@@audreykirstein3507I have noticed that so much make up is now making Princess Catherine look harsh and older. Not all the time, but she needs to tone her look down a bit. Such a beautiful woman can certainly look equally stunning with more age-approaching make-up. She’s an exquisitely beautiful, regal lady!
