Jaguar E Type Series II Rebuild - 2023-04-09 - Ignition Lamp Solution

During the engine start debugging phase of the restoration, I found I had an issue with my ignition light not going out after an engine start. I was using an LED bulb and several people had suggested that I need to use an old-style filament bulb (Thank you all).
I tried that approach, but it did not work. In fact, the filament bulb would not light with ignition on.
I was suspicious that my 3AW unit was not working. When the one fitted to the car arrived it was clear that it was new old stock (NOS) - It was so cool, I wanted to keep the box!!
I ordered a new aftermarket unit, and it works a treat with a LED bulb. The ignition light now goes out after engine start.
This appears to be the solution and still allows me to use the brighter LED bulbs.

Well done on solving this problem. However the engine sounds sweet as a nut. Very envious that your starts ans sounds so sweet.
