when i listen to blackbird, i always think its in the same category as stairway to heaven led zeppelin, telegraph road dire straits or conformably numb pink floyd, it has a powerful message, the way the song is structured, slow build up, beautifully written, imagine if it came out in 1970 it probably would have sold millions
This is certainly not a rock n roll era...had the song came out in 70s or the 80s,it would have been as iconic as all the rock /hard rock classics ..and Alter Bridge have much more songs of such pedigree...A true great band
I 100% agree. And they have so many more that I prefer to the old 70’s 80’s and 90’s rock and metal hits. I’m 56 and grew up with all that stuff and love it. So glad I discovered AlterBridge- because I think its better than most everything that I grew up with. Was flukey really that I even discovered them in the past 1/2 decade, because dumb rock radio doesn’t play it. I’m sure there are millions of potential fans in the same boat as I was…oblivious due to lack of new heavy rock/metal promotion….they rely on old standards and old previously successful radio artists when they happen to put out something new - even though its not half as good as AB!
