I’m glad everyone else is noticing this. The fact that BIG artists like Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, and Post Malone are dropping Country albums is very telling of what’s to come.
Rappers keep putting out the same song and same video every year expecting reactors to jump out their seats and go crazy each time, which they do. But hip-hop is suffering from a lack of creativity. Dudes will keep putting out the same shit until no one responds to it.
@@Doge_-_-111 Haha, point taken bro. But you are talking to a reactor, they are cool and charismatic dudes. A lot of it is on the production and video teams for these artists, they do most of the heavy lifting.

That’s the silver lining I see in this too. Hopefully it will lead to less ppl who don’t really respect or care about rap as an art form and just wanna make baby noises over a beat they slapped together in 5 mins to stop getting in the game, giving a chance for actual talent to shine through
@@1x.bizzle224crazy thing is 99% don’t have the skillset to be considered the goat. Most modern rappers don’t put in any effort into their music and they know it.
A lot of rap is classist af. Many of the rappers just talk about how much money they have and how they're better than you because they have cars, chains, women, etc. Sometimes, people just wanna vibe without hearing how much better an artist is doing than them. Like that time J.Cole said, "cant be out here mopping up Wendy's." .....When majority of the people supporting his music work those types of jobs. It makes sense why Country would do better. People can vibe to Country without negatively reflecting their own lives.
I hope fans like you leave hip-hop music and never come back. Lines like J. Cole said should be an inspiration to do better. Y'all just got victim mindsets
Yea exactly how I feel. ~ Mainstream ~rap is very lazy talking about same topics 24/7 (pussy, oral sex, money, jewelry, cars, beating/killing "opps") and not even in a creative or clever way either. It's basically fast-food music at this point and just a quick cash grab. While country is my least favorite genre, I can at least acknowledge they put effort and soul into their music.
@@gintoki_sakata__ Doesn't bother me. I'm just saying that's a huge reason why many people could be gravitating away from it. I can understand people not wanting to frequently listen to music that makes them feel sh*tty about themselves.
Two reasons: 1) The suburbs just got bored of hip hop. The trend from 2015-2021 is over. 2) The mainstream promotes mediocre rappers (like Ice Spice and… I hate to say it… Carti). Casual listeners aren’t gonna look into deeper cuts.
The crazy part about country right now is it doesn't matter what the mainstream puts out. Country fans are making people like Zach Bryan & Tyler Childers blow up now. So many people are listening to them it is forcing the radio to play them.
@b4sicscrub757 You may have never bought a country album but obviously there’s millions of country listeners and those kind of people are generational listeners where there parents and grandparents listen to country. And let me tell you those country listeners are some die hard fans

Thats actually insane cause i just realized that and thats crazy. I can feel myself caring less about up and coming artists as i get older. They gotta be really good for me to resonate with it
Tru and I believe that’s because in hip hop, ur written off after 30 especially if you haven’t “made it” yet. Country music, somebody can come in at 37 years old and make a name and age won’t come up one time, well at least not in a negative light
@@epiclivestreammoments yea, ageism is a big thing in Rap. It's the only genre where if you been a fan your entire life, you're looked down upon by kids who just started listening to the genre last year 🤣
because Country singers make songs with substance and have real fanbases. Hip-Hop today is filled with the same soulless bullshit and inflated streaming numbers making you think these rappers are bigger than what they are.
@@DADON99exactly, country music has more substance in their mainstream songs and is more generally positive. Sure, there’s filler too, but with rap, the mainstream is souless and derivative. Mainstream country has more substance.
Also, music is very much interconnected with the political and economic state of the world (hehe). But seriously it’s true! Today, most people are poor. No one can get a job, rent is insane, we are in a big economic depression. War is brewing, and we as people can’t do anything about it. So to see rappers flash their wealth is so exhausting and annoying and that superficiality is not something anyone wants to see anymore. It’s not human. That’s why I think country music is so big right now.
your right about the political aspect... the more divide we have here the bigger country gets i noticed. I think Hiphop will have a second coming in like 10 years tho.. its too easy to adapt to fall off. Also us as blacks will always be the hated ppl so will always go viral meaning any gerne we do will spike with numbers. If a Black hockey player starts being a beast hockey numbers will go up from black support and white support and white hating. Its sad but i notice that... even if he aint the best somehow he will get more attention justout of hate so as long as we do hiphop it will be around until we becaue the non hated group which will never happen
@@Tuelz...the problem is when we get a chance as black folks we don’t run with it.. hip hop has so much potential but all the petty beefs, using the same beats, talking about stuff that dont relate to the average listener, the promotion of negative things.. you can play most country songs to a room full of kids or future fans but it’s difficult with rap having to default to a watered down version. it’s bound to fall off at some point.
I like rock but the genre is definitely declining. There's hardly any young rock bands on radio and the festivals and concerts are really declining. Country has massive attendence at concerts
@manager4409 true, but you're only looking at north America. There's about 6 festivals in Europe every year that host 200,000 plus people. Rock was only ever big in America when it was about partying and drinking, ex. Van Halen, Motley Crue, KISS.
I was a die hard Hip Hop fan growing up but in the past 8 years my taste has drastically shifted. I still listen to rap albums but mostly rap-rap and more lyrical masterpieces otherwise I’ve shifted more to Alternative, R&B, Country, Afrobeat etc. liked country growing up because of my parents but now I really appreciate it. Also, these other genres seem to speak more to me and my life experiences more than most rap songs. I understand why country and alternative music are getting a big surge in fanbases.
It's really not, underground rap is following the same "I'll shoot a ninja up" or I'm smashing on your girl" or " I had to get it out the mud" trend, hip-hop as a whole is generic AF. And if they talking about real shit, it's stuff we already heard from every conscious rapper there is or was. I was a huge hip-hop head but honestly, rappers like Jay Z was right hip-hop is dead now.
I can relate to Morgan Wallen when he talks about a hard days work and going to get a drink with the boys or ripping up a country dirt road in the summer. Dude seems like someone I would grab a drink with or pass a blunt to. Hip hop has just gone downhill.
@@manager4409as it should be 😂 if you living in the rural south, why you wanna listen to artificial rap music when you can listen to a guitar strumming song about whisky and old trucks, all rap is, is just random lyrics that rhyme and it promotes a dirty lifestyle like look at drake, one of the biggest artist in the rap scene and he hasn’t changed at all, he still goes girl to girl partying and staying in drama instead of inspiring a younger generation to do better and build a stronger community with his lyrics and brand
This is why I love this guy. Super unbiased, does his research, and actually has intelligent conversations about something like the country music genre which is not his main focus. Definitely deserves more attention from the masses.
Pop HipHop has and it's needed at this point. The alt and indie rappers still have their waves and money good money, Just doesn't have to be played in the clubs anymore.
@@product_of_august Pop Rappers are the only ones that sell out Arenas. Childish Gambino, Logic, J cole only ones who sold out madison square garden. Very rarely has a street rapper sold out MSG.
It’s not because hip-hop went downhill, it’s because of a multitude of factors. For one thing, Billboard’s tabulation of chart success heavily favors purchases over only streams. With country music, older white people are more capable of getting a grassroots movement to purchase the music in a way that outweighs streams. Hip-hop music gets more streams, but country music makes more money. Within hip-hop, this is the reason why a guy like Danny Brown can’t sell enough copies of Atrocity Exhibition to recoup production costs, but why some dude like Tom MacDonald (who appeals to the white Facebook crowd) can not only get streams, but outright purchases. From a basic exposure perspective, hip-hop still remains more popular. From a monetary perspective country artists are on top now. We need to go back to monetarily supporting our artists more.
also hiphop is for younger ppl... getting closer to 30 and the older I get the less I can relate to mainstream rappers. When I was a teen i was running around with my ppls in The Bronx doing the same stuff the drill rappers rapper about now. Its 2 reason why rap is dwindling 1. Anything with singing on it, age better than rap, always has, always will 2. There is no rap superstars under 30 years old, the Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday 2" sold over 200k first week sales, current rappers are struggling to hit 100k, Killer Mike cleaned up at the Grammys, Nas sold out Madison Square Garden last year and was nominated for a Grammy. Lil Baby had to cancel his tour to due low ticket sales meanwhile while 50 cent sold over a million tickets for his tour. This is the first time in hip hop that so many of the OG's are outselling the younger acts.
@@simpleetfunky7062 you are absolutely right about that 90's rap is the golden age of rap for a reason and mind you my favorite time period in rap ( and the 2000's), what I meant by age well is the transitions, take for example you can play a song by Michael Jackson the go play a song by the weeknd and the quality doesn't drop that much, but if you go play a song by Rakim then go play lil Uzi there is a complete shift.
Hip Hop has bee non life support for almost 15 years, Drake consistently being on top is what kept it alive and now that he's finally starting to fall off it's finally become obvious how hiphop is dying
I feel like a lot of us young people, at least in the area I’m from, we were raised the country way. Southern hospitality. The main reason country music is having a surge in popularity to me is because country music was TERRIBLE in the late 2000’s all the way to the late 2010’s. So kids like me weren’t listening. But now there’s relatable guys and gals making damn good country music. It’s making a connection now that it wasn’t for a VERY VERY long time.
@@wolfgang6442 not just that. I think a big part that plays into this situation is how bad country music was for a long time. There was nothing new anyone cared to listen to. You can only listen to so much 90s country before you want something fresh. Now we’re getting it
Nah it’s just because (Modern) country music has more appeal to snowflakes who don’t want to hear mean and offensive words in their songs and love Taylor swift.

From 2010 - 2015 white kids from the suburbs were in their rebellious stage, consuming all the hip hop they could, night in and night out. In 2024, they’re grown and matured adults who realize hip hop is a youthful genre that’s meant to be grown out of. No grown man besides drake actually takes rap serious. Country on the other hand is soulful and mostly pleasant. This is why Zach Bryan is the biggest thing in music right now and a new world captivating rap star is nonexistent.
@@tbj4855 correct, I used to think hip hop was timeless, but now, not so much. Even legends are dipping back into the past. You've got folks like Benny, Freddie Gibbs, and The Alchemist all digging into that raw, gritty '90s vibe... because back then, rap really stood for something. Nowadays, it feels empty. Even the pop-leaning hip hop artists are echoing the 2000s (think Jack Harlow, Russ, Breez Kennedy, and even The Weeknd), trying to capture the essence of past decades because the current scene lacks substance. It's like what made rap exciting is either gone or has evolved beyond recognition. Rap used to be like Punk - a critical voice for the culture, a genre that defined a movement. But now, it's lost its way, which is why its biggest names are blending genres, not just sticking to rap. Drake dominates because he mixes Pop/R&B. XXXTENTACION with Alternative Rock. Mac Miller was loved for his Jazz and Funk influences. Russ is huge for blending Reggae and Pop. Juice WRLD was all about the emo scene. Kanye is Gospel. Even the tough guys are layering their tracks with SOUL. Hip hop's uniqueness is fading, and it's losing its edge. It's like rap is running out of steam because it's lost its meaning. Everything that could be done has been done, often better, by predecessors. But singing, playing instruments, and solid songwriting never go out of fashion. That's why country music is blowing up right now. Just look at the stadium sell-outs; it's Zach Bryan and Morgan Wallen drawing the crowds, not The Migos or Future. The fans who grew up with hip hop's current stars have moved on, outgrowing both the artists and their messages. That's why Drake's songs are aimed at 18-year-olds - …. people his own age just aren't in that headspace anymore.
Rap lost its meaning partly due to culture vultures and outsiders that aren't part of the culture. It's becoming the new Rock because of white people. This is what happens when you don't gatekeep and allow trash music like Carti, Sexyy Redd, Yeat, Ice Spice to become popular. The genre needs to be focused on deeper topics, storytelling and actual bars again. Whenever something is predominantly black and consumed by white, then imitated by white, it ends up dying soon. Rock music, black slang and soon rap.
@@thedisappointed2530 And country is futuristic music pushing boundries? country music's roots lie in the ballads, folk songs just like hiphop in Funk ,soul, jazz etc,. Hiphop has always embraced other music forms as it's roots lie in djing and maniputaling other peoples music with 2 turntables and later with samplers. It's not something new that rappers use influences from other music forms and it exists for more than 50 years. It's not a fad anymore. Just like jazz, rock and now hiphop they all had their time at the top. Nothing stays forever. It's not dead either and many older people still listen to classics from the 90's and it has many subgenres.
I truly believe if artist like, Juice Wrld, Pop Smoke, King Von, Young Dolph, X, Mac Miller etc were still here there would be a very different conversation and industry climate. Sadly this is what happens when we lose too many artist too soon and too young.
All of them died because of the music they were moving, got juice a drug addict and the rest thinking they untouchable because they gang affiliated / ex

IDK if it is because I’m chicano, but I really dove deep into Latin Urban right after going to the Sueños festival last year. There is something about regatón that I really like and the current evolution going on right now throwing bars over edm beats that make latin urban more interesting.
we can also point to white kids growing up and not listening to the genre as J Cole predicted in 1985, BLM movement being heavily tied with Hip Hop also turned them away, making them wanna listen to the stuff their parents listen to
I doubt Hip Hop listeners are switching to Country, of course there's probably plenty of people that might listen to both and now leaning more towards Country but for the most part we're talking about two totally different types of people in society. Long time hip hop fans (like myself) are tired of the gimmicks, social media drama and people killing each other just to flex in a music video and online. Hip Hop is trash right now, people are just listening to Hip Hop less, Country has always been the 2nd biggest musical genre in the US,, and now it's becoming #1
The irony is that Jelly Roll is now a Country Artist started in in Hip Hop. Luke Combs blew up because a rapper @ryanupchurch remixed and shot a video with him for his song “Can I Get an Outlaw” There’s been so many crossover country and hip hop artists it’s not even funny. As the industry has diluted the hip-hop community and taking it away from its roots.
ngl the fact we have people in hip hop pushing 40 and 50 who are still the main figures in hip hop (jcole, drake, kendrick, future, nikki minaj, etc) is bringing us down
Wait so what’s bringing it down? The fact that not many new faces of our generation are pushing the envelope to become one of the greats or that we as the audience can’t move on from these legends?? lol
I think the only reason it ever matters is the same issue with fashion trends, it does affect what you see in stores. So you'll see a huge amount of funding for country and that will be what blows up but in the modern times you can avoid as much of it as you want but this is what most people will like, listen, and talk about.
And that's why I listen to underground hip-hop If you want something new & different try nerdcore hip-hop; nerd cultures taking over anything n this shit don't talk about guns, drugs, or money

Thanks for showing love to sub-genres! I feel sub-genres of main genres, would be the last standing foot for main genres. Example K-Pop is Pop music's back up and Lofi Hip Hop can be Hip Hop's back up. Lofi was on the rise, to take over; might be next if Country loses its groove

I give a lot of credit to Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, and Lainey Wilson for bringing country into the streaming era and following a lot of label success. Especially as more pop and hip hop influences creep into the music. While I think that country music can be just as uneven in quality as hip hop is, you can find a lot of great music in both genres. TikTok has a lot to do with success like this, but a lot of these artists have a lot of fans that keep showing up to their shows and that says a lot. Nashville radio has also done a lot to push these artists up the charts.

I don’t think Morgan wallen is actually racist, he genuinely has a lot of black friends and called his friend the slur from listening to hip hop too much and speaking like that in private. I think the reason why country music is popular now along w/ Latin music is because evey genre of music has it's own era. In the 80's it was pop artists like George Michael , David Bowie , Madonna , Olivia Newton John and Prince. In the 90's & early 2000's it was pop as well as r&b. Artists such as Britney Spears , Brandy , Aaliyah , Nsync , Backstreet Boys , and Christina Aguilera as well as Destiny's Child were popular along w/ Usher. Then in the early 2010's decade it was pop artists like Katy Perry , Miley Cyrus , Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. In the late 2010's decade it was rap artists that were popular like Drake. Now it's country music & Latin music that's popular because that's just how the cycle goes. Every genre of music has it's own era at some point in time. Any genre has it's own spotlight & popularity. In the next 10 years another genre will gain popularity. IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) that's just how the world works even it comes to music.
Latin music is bigger than american country music. Mexican country music is more popular than american country music. Its not a cycle. Latin music has always been popular. Its just getting notice in usa mainstream. If u go to clubs in italy or russia. They r playin latin music. Go to israeli. U dont see russian playing morgan wallen. But they r playing maluma, bad bunny. Mexican country music is bigger than american country music.
Hip hop has already lost the Mexican american community in the US, the kids have been consuming more and more regional Mexican music from northern Mexico as much if not more than hip hop.
I hope that this is a good thing because I miss the early 2000s pop, country pop, alternative, and indie. There’s so many other great genres that needs to be in the forefront
One of Morgan Wallace songs been fused with a lot of hip hop songs which Is why I feel like he’s gotten a lot of recognition. That’s honestly why I’ve heard of him because people mixed his song with reggae and hip hop and it goes so smoothly together
I just realized I was listening to Morgan wallen without knowing who he was I did not know he was that popular as an avid hip hop listener I am surprised I gravitated that way
I live in Oklahoma and am therefore a fan of country, death metal, and hip-hop. 😂it isn't a joke, though! that's our favorite music in these parts! I think it is super dope that Morgan Wallen and Lil Durk have collaborated together. I agree; good musicians, especially those with as big of a platform of both aforementioned artists was a HUGE step up for both of those dudes and their respected genres. They did a collab on the song Lil Durk song "Stand By Me" off Durk's "Almost Healed" record and it was such a refreshing and new thing to see and hear Music is the language of us all and anyone who watches this channel is passionate about it. Joey Bada$$ got that old school hip hop vibe but also talkin about day to day shit not just sippin lean and popping pill while having “bands” Ps. most of those rappers money is the labels that they (the artists) have to pay back almost like a loan.
I feel like it’s genre fatigue. Rap took rock and roll’s place in the mainstream, now country is taking rap’s place. And pop will always be pop, always popular enough but never a forefront groundbreaking genre.
Unfortunately true🤷♂️hip hop/rap has centered around ego from one artist to the next, and as much as there were great artists working together, it doesn't always turn out long term.
HipHop to me always had these problems since the 2000’s it just took the MUSIC INDUSTRY to BREAKDOWN … for it to really be revealed Now only genuine talented artist are having the space! Which is great … this is reflection of music industry in general
One of the reasons for the rise in country is the political climate. Country is a flagship for people who are still patriotic about America. Any rapper that takes that stance will be cancelled or blackballed.
We're from Texas and we listen to everything over here hip hop, country, Latino, afro beats, Indie. I will say that more an more I listen to Hip hop less these days
At least in country they dont have to worry about being too old (even for a breakthrough), until they are actually old, cause there will always be tons of boomers listening that are out of touch anyway. Also, I would think the average career to be a lot longer in country vs hiphop which ofc has lotta 1hit wonders
Only older generations buy music anymore. Younger generations don’t buy but stream and that changes the billboard figures. Just like Apple Music top 5, it’s a good representation of what older folks are listening to and purchasing.
A lot of Morgan Wallen's stuff sounds like R&B with southern twang and southern influences. Overall his lyrics seem great and his sound is smooth but maybe a bit on the simple side(sound wise). Overall I'm sure the hip hop industry is going to notice this and manufacture a new wave of artists to compete If they haven't already. Hip hop can absolutely meet this standard and I am excited for it.
Not defending hip hop but at least here in Europe country is probably not viewed same like in US, people here think that its a dull music genre where they sing about beer and tractors while wearing cowboy hats, barely anyone knows about guys like Garth Brooks despite them being ultra sucessfull in terms of sales.
Yeah I think this is a missing factor, Country music will struggle internationally and the international market is super important for profit. For international audiences they are not only not very familiar with Country music sonically, there's the issue of it relying on lyrical content to really showcase itself. Lyrical music doesn't do well in international markets because of the language barriers, that's why the most popular hip-hop acts make really repetitive, and basically you can mumble along type lyrics. Its the same reason big blockbuster movies keep dialogue simple, it's for the international audiences so that they can follow without having to know too much English. I imagine if Country does really become the dominant genre you will see a massive dumbing down of the lyrics to get the profit back.
My family is southern black folk so it might not count to some. We always listen to country AND rap like most rural black folks. But I can’t really play rap music around my young kids - too much cursing and negativity. So even in my personal life my kids hear more country and RnB than rap. maybe, it’s the negativity from rap.. we don’t honor the greats like other genres.. we don’t put people on who are actually talented that often.. there’s so much death and incarceration revolved around it that we never get to see a full career out of the artist we love.. outside of the old heads like snoop, etc.
Even though I love rap music as whole, ive expanding my music taste I don’t want to hear just rap music only I want to experience something better than rap music. I agree with everything you said, rap as a whole has been negative for a long time but I choose to listen to it. Also, music is very much interconnected with the political and economic state of the world (hehe). But seriously it’s true! Today, most people are poor. I think the difference is country fans actually buy the albums and rap fans just stream it. So country actually ends up getting more numbers
That makes more sense

1. Anything with singing on it, age better than rap, always has, always will

Country on the other hand is soulful and mostly pleasant. This is why Zach Bryan is the biggest thing in music right now and a new world captivating rap star is nonexistent.
So you’re saying hip hop has no longevity? That’s bs
It's not something new that rappers use influences from other music forms and it exists for more than 50 years. It's not a fad anymore. Thanks for the love! The main genre Hip Hop itself is falling off from mainstream, but the sub-genres are dominating the most! Nerdcore Music definitely is popular; the new underground music too! Nerdcore Hip Hop is an example
Name some artists I should listen to😅
@FBIOpenUp-qi5ph Daddyphatsnaps, GameboyJones, DizzyEight, Rustage, Shwabadi, Connor Quest!, Ham Sandwich, Aerial Ace, and PE$O PETE
These are some great nerdcore artist to start with. If you're listening on spotify, recommendations should start spitting out other artists in genre in you listen to a few tracks
@@FBIOpenUp-qi5phTae Retro, Kenny Mason, Lute, Xavier Wulf
nerdcore hip-hop = losers
Thanks for showing love to sub-genres! I feel sub-genres of main genres, would be the last standing foot for main genres. Example K-Pop is Pop music's back up and Lofi Hip Hop can be Hip Hop's back up. Lofi was on the rise, to take over; might be next if Country loses its groove
This conversation comes up several times a year I feel like
Personally I don’t care I love underground hip hop
Who are your favorite artists? (opening the question to the floor bc i'm always looking for new music)
I like peggy, simbi, kenny mason, redveil, lil ugly mane, Navy Blue, McKinley Dixon, $ilk Money & Injury Reserve
underground is the best。
@@tariq6319 my favorites are
Kenny Mason,Tony Shhnow,Summrs,Lil Tony Offical,Rich Amiri,Dc the don,Rob Ka$t,Your Stepdad and Cayo they all prob future stars

I want to say of course hip hop is not falling off...
It's in a intersection of change...
It's developing....
For the same as country...
But the genre has re found some of its footing...
Now to go a step further with both...
And redevelop and rethink
The genre bluegrass...

You Are Right, Im From South Africa 🇿🇦 I Converted To Country In 2018 Actually But After The Pandemic Hip Hop Started To Feel Unrelatable But Country Is Like Someone Sees You And Listen To You And Speak For You And To Your Heart, Hip Hop Had That Before 2010 But Post That It Has Lost That Down To Earth Feeling It Had With Audiences And I Wish We Turned Down The Cool Of It And Just Connect With Everyday People Again... I Love Hip Hop I Don't Want To See It Become RNB As A Genre But I Can't Help Myself Feeling Gravitating To Country
Great, a country star who called someone a racial slur is top of the charts. Sad. This is how far hip hop/rap has failed all bc no one has an actual message to spread and no person can live the same life as these hip hop artists. Artist these days jus wanna get money and be famous while also promoting violence or shaking their ass. To the point where kids are talkin jus like adults. The Artists themselves killin the genre
According to the comment above, Hip-Hop seems like a failed genre.
I don’t think Morgan wallen is actually racist, he genuinely has a lot of black friends and called his friend the slur from listening to hip hop too much and speaking like that in private. Of course he shouldn’t say it but maybe no one should these days now. I knew a white guy like that who would be all “what’s up my -“ and it would have to be explained to him he couldn’t say that even though his black friends could.
@@C12341 i have black friends and they said they didnt mind me saying it but i never said it outside that group of people. Thats the issue. Doesnt matter if your able to say it with the people that are cool with it, you need to know when you can say it. Theres time and place for shit like that

That’s because 75% of modern country music is basically pop music with no balls and soul, Hip Hop actually has the balls to say “bad words”
What soul does modern hip hop have?
@@rgonzalo511idk but hip hop is definitely a monopoly for American music
Country music, like metal, has a community. You're more than just a fan. You're a part of something. That means a lot.
At least we have oldschool hip-hop to come back to, maybe this is the time when it will come back and become more prominent again…
I hope that this is a good thing because I miss the early 2000s pop, country pop, alternative, and indie. There’s so many other great genres that needs to be in the forefront
who fucking cares? Is life all about a fucking show?
Beyonce is one smart cookie
WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER, FOKS! Stay blessed. 😎 another banger from my man BlackySpeakz. 👍
Joey Bada$$ got that old school hip hop vibe but also talkin about day to day shit not just sippin lean and popping pill while having “bands”
Ps. most of those rappers money is the labels that they (the artists) have to pay back almost like a loan.
Mexican music is on the rise too with peso pluma leading the wave . Also got fuerza regida , grupo frontera , junior h , Xavi
HipHop to me always had these problems since the 2000’s it just took the MUSIC INDUSTRY to BREAKDOWN … for it to really be revealed
Now only genuine talented artist are having the space!
What is Latino 😂 that ain’t no genre
@@AVERUNS Latino is an umbrella unless you want me to name every latino genre
I will say, this is a good thing for Hiphop imo. Like the Dotcom bubble, it will bring us the best to survive
At least in country they dont have to worry about being too old (even for a breakthrough), until they are actually old, cause there will always be tons of boomers listening that are out of touch anyway. Also, I would think the average career to be a lot longer in country vs hiphop which ofc has lotta 1hit wonders
Old people listen to old music they don't care what's popular
Hip hop used to be the only thing i listened to but i have shifted to predominantly country.
Donald glover said this through his show atlanta lol 😅 the signs were there years ago
👍🏾 Great news. R.I.P Rap culture. Meanwhile Hip Hop culture about to hit the world stage at summer Olympic Games…
country musicians are passionate about their craft, i dont listen to it but i respect that. Hiphop will come back
hip hop’s downfall started with ben shapiro retiring😞
It’s all music at the end of the day. Just listen and enjoy it
Not defending hip hop but at least here in Europe country is probably not viewed same like in US, people here think that its a dull music genre where they sing about beer and tractors while wearing cowboy hats, barely anyone knows about guys like Garth Brooks despite them being ultra sucessfull in terms of sales.
In Europe , country music is not popular at all !!! Maybe for some old peoples , I don't know !!!
Hip hop has passed It’s peaked in the mainstream
Not doesn’t mean it’s worse
This happens to every big genre
I got myself listening to old rap albums that defines the word “classic” and even pop albums, Alternative albums, and even rock albums. Country I’ll check it out myself not to big on it.
@@nostalgiaharvey7213 I agree I have found myself delving more into metal, country, and Latin music like daddy Yankee, winsin y yandel, gente de zona, etc to be honest.
Going back to negativity. There is a feeling we all get I believe, when we like an artist and we find out they have been murdered or that they are going to jail for x amount of time. And then you get a feeling of, I’m not going to have music for that time or forever. And I haven’t even mentioned the fact that some artist we can’t even relate to as working class people ie the money flashing, expensive cars, huge egos, etc.
One guy in the comment section said, the older you get in rap, the more you listen to older rap or no rap at all. I think I am getting there slowly.
@@larrysmith2655 I love my hip hop I still do I’m 21 years old I got myself listening to ghostface killah, Nas, Raekwon, and MF DOOM my parents never listen to that type of music which is why I understand why. I love learning about this culture but the culture itself is toxic.
I wouldn't mind seeing more hip hop and country collabs. Broadway Girls went hard.
Mainstream Rap is stuck in one sound for close to a decade now and everyone is doing the same style vocally that's why any form of music can surpass Rap
Im not surprised, i knew that this was going to happen
