Our Northwoods cabin was broken into!!! They came through the back side door for shelter. There was plenty of firewood and lots of canned goods in the cupboards. When we showed up in the very early Spring, there was a wonderful apology note and $100. There were names and telephone numbers if we were owed more than $100. They had stayed during an unexpected winter storm. They were there three nights, off grid, back then. They put cardboard and tape on the small broken window and it was spotless, even the wood stove was cleaned out! My grandfather called when we got back to town. Such nice guys! Welcome anytime he told them. There are decent people in the world. And our family is always ready to help. It gave us all a wonderful feeling to know they were safe, warm and fed during a bad storm!

I notice when you're shoveling the snow you shovel it away from your cabin to make a big pile, but you should be shoveling your snow putting it up against and all around the perimeter of your cabin. It helps to act as an insulator keeping your place warmer!❤
we have very thick walls that are very well insulated. And we also have a brick oven, with which the room is +25 degrees Celsius all night. You can throw snow, but in the spring you don't want to clean up the wet snow

It’s a pollen substitute - full of carbs so the queen bed can be fed and eggs and honey can be produced - it’s kept in a bag so it says warm and doughy and the bees can chomp through it. If it wasn’t in a bag the dough/fondant would get hard right away and not giving time for bees to get to it.
No it wouldn’t. I like these log cabin videos with no or minimal talking, so I can appreciate the sounds of the woods, the falling snow (or rain), the crackling of the fire, etc. Americans just talk and talk and don’t let us simply appreciate the calming sounds.
