  • HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN! Here is the project that I've been wanting to tackle for, oh I don't know, 20ish years?
I never thought I had enough skill to take this on, but I'm so glad I finally just DID IT. This week was full of hand-sewing, decision-changing, and candy-eatin', but finally I finished it, so I hope you guys like it!!
    I love you all!!

Edit: rewatched this video cus i watched sleepy hollow again. yes i did finish the cloak! it's a cosplay of the creature you play as from the video game Journey (highly reccomend). all the gold symbols and stripes I embroidered by hand as I didnt have access to an embroidery machine (I have since gottem one, speeds the proccess up alot even if its a littl finniky at times). I wear it as a coat in winter as well because i put too much work into it to simply wear at the occasional convention. it took me just over a year to complete, never underestimate how long stitching by hand takes, expeciallydecorative ones.

Even the super-expensive fahncee fabric boutique where all the six-figure hipster moms bought $40/yard specialty fabrics to make those excruciatingly precocious European-style kid's outfits with gave up the ghost a few years back. I love that your captions are done by a human and not a robot and I can tell because when you were ranting about Joann's and Michaels and their coupons, the captions said "CoRporATE aMeriCA, MAN" which makes me really happy. I have hearing issues when there's other noise happening "(like when I'm watching videos at work on my break and anyone is talking in the near vicinity) and so see the captions say *weird tongue noises* makes it so much better. Thank you so much!

Omg I literally said 'NOOoooo' to my TV when you said you were going to draw the stripes on. I'm so glad you used striped fabric, that would have been an insane amount of work! This came out awesome 👌
Also 'the lime green stripe is as hard to find as diversity in Tim Burton movies' is a sick ass burn 🔥

100% agree with the Michael's and Joanne's thing. Everything is jacked up because you can use the coupon (except the coupons apply to only one item most of the time, where I live anyway)

The stripes were drawn on after the dress was made - that's how they lined them up so well. So cool they did it that way. I thought when she got all those markers that she understood... until it was all laid out LOL So funny! I'm actually glad she went with the striped fabric because it turned out beautiful and now it can be a keepsake

Or versions of it. Like a black and orange striped version one year, another one where the side and back are a removable bustle, one that's more beetle juice themed, and then other non stripey ideas, orange, or use the silk pattern pieces that were cut out and doodle halloween themed things on it. Jack o lantern faces, brooms and cauldrons, cats, teapots. Maybe ombre it with a tea bath.

I've never caught one of your videos so early... I know by the time I finish watching there will be hundreds of comments, so I would just like to say, when you might actually see it, that you are one of the lights for me here on YT. I have an interest in historic fashion, but I don't sew. I watch your videos because I find you both relatable and hilarious. I also am inspired by the way you're comfortable in your own skin - so helpful to those of us who struggle with it. Thanks for the inspiration and I'm glad I have not yet caught up with watching the wonderful backlog of your videos, since I happily just discovered you this year.
