That's very well done. I make sandbags pretty well now with that technique. Now I want to get those flat bed rail cars and make similar. I really enjoy these videos - a lot! God never quit producing these!
Was looking through Trumpeter's catalog and let me say WOW! they got a large range of rail carrrage. The one that impressed me the most was the Leopord rail gun:O
Andy-- I am a follower and admirer of your workmanship. I am interested in your airbrushing techniques. For example, you routinely apply NATO Black as a base color. What type airbrush are you using? How much pressure are you putting through the line? And, what mix do you use? What do you thin with? Many thanks DJ
It's coming along very nicely. Do you intend to display it in your shop or get a hernia moving it about!? ;-) Loved the sandbag tutorial and the painting of them in this video - so much more realistic and varied than manufacture ones. Great work
Once this little mini series is done could you build the tamiya chieftain mk5 in a video? It's one that I've done and I'd love to see how someone with your level of talent would make it turn out.
really enjoy your videos have picked up a few tips you must have been asked this question a thousand times before but do you purchase the kits you use in your build videos and how do you decide which kits to build in the first place
It looks really nice Andy. All you need now is about 200 feet of track and a motor to make it a movable diorama? :-) Just kidding skipper, but it really does look great!!
In real life, I would be worried that the sandbags, stacked as you have them, would vibrate with travel and the walls fall down. But I have not seen historical photos either way. Nice job though.
The side to side motion of trains makes vertical sandbag walls difficult to maintain without stabilization. Even stationary sandbag walls over 1.5 meters tall are wider at the bottom.
If you want non-copyrighted music, there is a source to get tons of classical music, and it is all Creative commons (you are free to use it however you want, just give credit). Go to imslp.org. On the left side, click on recordings and then choose composer. If you don't know where to start since there are so many, I recommend starting from Beethoven or Brahms. If you want a piece that is more "easy listening" than choose Mozart or Haydn. After clicking on the composer name, choose the piece - probably out of the symphonies, string quartets, or piano sonatas.
Hi and my compliments for your videos, very useful. just one advice: have you considered to use a different point of view for your camera (e.g from the top)? sometimes the only thing we see is your hand ;) thnk you ank please keep doing videos, i've a lot to learn! best, Alessandro
Andy, I'm wondering if you ship outside the US, I was browsing through your store and went to check out and it allowed me to put in my Canadian address, but then said it couldn't be completed and shipping couldn't be calculated. Could you PM me about this? Thanks!
Hi Andy. Your armoured locomotive video has been blocked for 'copyright' by SME and Vector Entertainment. Don't know if it's everywhere or just here in the UK.

Cool setup, would've been way more interesting to look at, if figures were added.
really enjoy your videos
have picked up a few tips

Damn don't forget a lot of figures! You gonna put it on a base?
Yes , if you check out the video on sandbags , you'll see the base, I need lots of figures, but that will come overtime
I love the whole train. Are you planning to make Trumpeter's PanzerJägerWagen train car?
Don't know yet the armored locomotive might be the last one for this diorama
Andy's Hobby Headquarters I understand, it is getting quite full! :)
Thanks Andy, you know any good cheap airbrush brands?
Iwata makes a decent inexpensive line so does badger
In real life, I would be worried that the sandbags, stacked as you have them, would vibrate with travel and the walls fall down.

Nice job though.
Absaalookemensch I think they did have sand bags stacked like that

Hey Andy what kind of clay did you use for the sandbags...
