Crazy amount of force to bend that… would be very awesome to get that thing running simply for the memory of your sister! Thanks for the awesome video buddy!
Just recently discovered your videos. I have owned ATVs since the 80's. Really enjoying learning more about these machines that are so much fun to ride and wrench on .
That's the way it goes sometimes. Would be great to see it going again. I know you can't save them all. But it's nice to save some. When nobody else would.
Dirt tracks did a build 25 years ago on the wolverine 350. They used a kodiak 400 cylinder on top stroke and bored it to 500cc. Also installed a manual shift in and out 4x4 lever... great videos keep em up
So sorry to hear about your sister. Good find on the main jet being a little oversized, amazing how much difference even a tiny main jet adjustment can make. Perhaps have an old moto4\warrior 350 motor you could put into this bad boy? she hydrolocked I'd bet to bend a connecting rod, tried to fire it up after flood, bam! nice job really hammering down on that Wolverine to get it running just right!
I always enjoy your videos. Last couple were perfect timing for me to get my folks old 350 big bear running. It’s a 1988 in really good shape . Been sitting almost 3 years . Needs a battery, clean the carb , fresh gas , oil change and Hopefully get it running tomorrow.
@@rockspowersports Got it running today. Had a weak spark , found the plug boot to be cracked. Taped it up just to get it running and started fine after. New carb. Will keep the old one for a rebuild. Everything works. Not bad for a 36 year old machine. All original except the new carburetor. Only 1500 miles on the machine. Been stored in a heated shop its whole life.
Great follow up! Gives me hope it’s still a carb issue I’m dealing with eventhough it’s a vacum actuated carb on an 07. I tried shimming the needle cause I’m cheap and there is no notches for adjustment. Probably just time for a new needle at 4000miles
This would be a pretty easy fix for me considering there’s big bears being parted out everywhere here where I am because the salt water eats the frames. All id have to do is get a good engine and swap it
No way they bent that by hand , I’d say they swamped it while it was running so hydro locked and tried to start it or pull start it with another machine to bend that or was hydro locked from fuel , as the valves looked fine so never dropped a valve and don’t look like anything hit the head , so nothing got between head a piston , so that’s my guess , as they would need major force to to that by hand , and likely mess up the rewind side in doing it ,
That would be! But that was sold off 10-15 years ago, so it would be almost impossible to find… Hopefully someone’s taking good care of it where ever it is.
Do you know why my fuel injected Honda Rincon will bog and shut off when in drive unless I rev it in neutral a few times and then it will drive fine and run fine. It will run amazing if I just rev it a few times.
@@rockspowersports I usually let it warm up for like 2 minutes but I’ll try letting it warm up longer. But even when I’ve been driving it for a while it still does it. As soon as I shut it off
2 minutes is plenty long enough for it to warm up. It’s hard to say what’s causing the issue. Do you have fresh oil in it? Will it stall just idling in gear or just when you give it some throttle?
Yamaha and king Quad 750 would be my choice if price doesn’t matter . honda as a 2and or 3rd choice and that’s only because the rubicon 520 is the biggest they make . Can Am 700 is probably what i would buy if going new just because here in Canada they’re 3-4 k more the then then yamaha or the king quad
no disappointment whatsoever, simply love seeing the content and not going elsewhere
Appreciate that!

A great trick to unlock frozen motors is straight vinegar down the cylinder and set overnight , turns rust into gooo and usually easy to break free !

You are a gentleman and a scholar. Another great video! Thank you sir.
That's the way it goes sometimes.

Wish your shop was closer to us. You’re a great mechanic and very honest. ☃️👍👍
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Sorry for your loss. Also lost my 18 year old brother Jim and he rode our 01 grizzly 600 and those machines are near and dear to me. 10-10-02
Thanks, and sorry to hear about your brother. I’m sure that grizzly means so much!
Yay you found your other hand…much more enjoyable to watch. Thanks
Great content as always! Sorry for your loss, i have the same sentimental value with some of my tools, its reallt nice to have the memories still
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks I appreciate it.
I would do it all day long i had one and it would climb a hill like a mountain goat. Now have a kodiak 400. Lov yamahas

Be awesome if you could do a crazy build like that.
I want to see more videos like this man so cool!
Bring them Hondas can’t wait to
I just fixed my 2004 rubicon and am a big fan go Honda can’t wait for the content! Great work
Nice, really like those Rubicons. Don’t have any of those coming up but plenty of other Honda’s.

Sweet, Glad to hear you got her going! They don’t make them nowadays like they did back then. Thanks for letting me know.
If i was working on a ATV i'd be working on them all day, sometimes without having lunch or dinner
I love the longer content
Thanks, glad to hear it!
I love the big bears custom seat cover looks awesome lol my brothers got a wolverine great machine
great deal for sure!$50 can never go wrong at that price and has the custom seat cover, very rare i heard!!!!lol
The seat can re grow its cushion now haha
@@rockspowersports lol so true!!!its like those chia pets they use to sell on tv years ago!!lol
You do you. You’re an awesome person. Keep up the great work.
I wish I lived closer to you I would definitely hire you any day to work on mine. As it is I am the head mechanic and sometimes that is scary lol
Can’t beat a $100 machine. Especially if it came with the bungee cord on the rack 😂

Great video Rock- love the content

I like the look of the big bears but I like my wolverine. I’d be down to maybe get a Kodiak 400
A 2000 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 was my first 4x4 Atv I had and man that thing took a beating!
No way they bent that by hand , I’d say they swamped it while it was running so hydro locked and tried to start it or pull start it with another machine to bend that or was hydro locked from fuel , as the valves looked fine so never dropped a valve and don’t look like anything hit the head , so nothing got between head a piston , so that’s my guess , as they would need major force to to that by hand , and likely mess up the rewind side in doing it ,
They must have tried to start it with a cylinder full of water and it hydro locked and bent the rod? Crash start or tow start would probably do it too
I never thought of that, towing it after it was locked up would have put a lot of force on it. I have no idea what actually happened though.
My dad had a big bear 350 when he was young, it got stolen in 2004
Great vid man deff looking forward til see that one running
Thanks!
No, no.. this is perfect, keep on yapping cus we like it 😂, just no more music 😢
Haha! No more music since the Bombardier quest lol
Probably bent from the hydro lock when flooded. 🤷🏻♂️
Hydrolocked
It would be cool if you could track down your sisters wheeler
That would be! But that was sold off 10-15 years ago, so it would be almost impossible to find… Hopefully someone’s taking good care of it where ever it is.
Man i need that $100 deal lol dont find them everyday!
Absolutely! Hard to find a $100 wheeler now a days.
U needa get a moto 4 250 there a beast
Curious what happened to the polaris ranger with the bad diff from the last video
Waiting on some parts to arrive for it. Video will be coming on it.
Did you say you are from vt i am to would have front and back rims for a 2003 yamaha big bear thanks

Are you letting it warm up before trying to go? Those Rincons like to warm up for a bit to get the fluid circulating.
@@rockspowersports I usually let it warm up for like 2 minutes but I’ll try letting it warm up longer. But even when I’ve been driving it for a while it still does it. As soon as I shut it off
As soon as a shut it off, it will do the whole bogging thing over again
I would investigate the throttle itself. Maybe a switch putting it in limp mode.
2 minutes is plenty long enough for it to warm up. It’s hard to say what’s causing the issue. Do you have fresh oil in it? Will it stall just idling in gear or just when you give it some throttle?
What do you think is the best made four wheeler
So many good choices out there but I’m a big fan of the Yamaha Grizzly 700

Probably hydro locked and that's where the water came from
0% no chance someone bent that by hand.
Haha that’s what I was thinking!
That was drowned at full throttle.
Sorry bud it's my fault tried breaking it free with a quarter inch ratchet no cheater pipe
Forearms of steel!
