It’s that escape. Or keeping my mind occupied so nothing else can fit into my mind. It has been such a pleasure to be able to watch you and hear about your journey and passion for the instrument we all love. And I don’t feel alone anymore, I understand that there are more people like you and me out here just living and learning. And once again, amazing riffs and licks.
Man, Felt this one. Wife lost her job a couple months ago. I just lost mine last week. My wife tries to give me grief on occasion for playing. She thinks because I'm playing in not stressed out worried about anything. When I'm reality, I'm playing to clear my head a little. To vent some frustrations through heavy riffs. Sadness through melodic runs, or just experience the joy technical practice for the sheer joy of getting better at something I've been doing since I was 8 years old. It's just a major coping method for me when I'm down or angry or any other stressful emotion. And a source of joy and happiness no matter what else is going on in my life.. if I can just sit for a few minutes and play, life is a little better for me. Keep up the great work man. Thanks for a truly meaningful message today!🤘
Thank you for sharing your story, your going through alot and I hope things improve for you and your wife on the job front and I’m thankful the guitar has helped you the way it has helped me.🤘🏻❤️🤘🏻
Hell yeah Dunn. I just started recently playing and your videos have motivated me to try new stuff. I always watch your videos because it’s something I can use. Keep posting man. 🤘🏻
Thank you, appreciate your support. I’m judging myself against the best so I’m happy to except I’m okay but not the greatest and I’m thankful the guitar community is supporting what I’m doing and I’ve helped people on their journey.
I may not play Death Metal as much as I would like (Doom/sludge/ stoner is my thing) and I gotta tell ya, any tips, tricks, advice reaaaally helps out a noobie like myself. Your way of explaining things makes all the sense in my 42 year old brain. So thank you Dunn.
Thanks for sharing your sincere words bro. I believe metal expresses darkness and evil and it's spiritual in a way that we can't fully understand. My aim is to connect with the ancient ones through the feeling of the riffs that I play. Maybe impossible but it gives purpose to continue playing.
Exactly my approach to playing guitar. You just feel music, it is you and your emotions formed into sound. I'm a beginner but I wanna break through to create a cohesive experience someday, but improvising and playing from the heart is one of the best feelings ever. Good luck on your journey and enjoy guitar
I see those eyes of your mate.. we see u r passionate and genuine thats why u r doing what u r doing. It will help ur life journey and its a therapy alot of the time. We love u and thank you. Ur a inspiration to not only me. I feel ya brother. Love ya man keep doin what ur doin. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you sir
Thank you for your beautiful words means a lot . It’s been amazing experience to be embraced by so many and has made this journey all the more special.
Awesome video Dunn. You can see that the words in this video are 100% honest and not just some empty phrases. Keep doing what you love and thanks for letting us be a part of it 🤘
Thank you appreciate your support. I was unsure if I should make a video like this but with the encouragement of you and everyone who has supported this journey I’m understanding who I am and what I have to offer this world. Thank you 🤘🏻❤️🤘🏻
You're a f'n legend Dunn. Inspiring a metal community to do something they love. I'm slowly exploring different genres of metal and your content is regularly giving me new ideas. I work a very sedentary job so have to be careful with my hobbies as the body doesn't like being still. I used to have a great outlet for my mental health with long distance running - just get lost in the outdoors and often listening to music. Basically didn't run for 4 years after both feet ended up in pain and no health professional was able to be that much help. I'm slowly getting back and combined with music, it helps me be a better "me". That's something not everyone understands, but once you do it opens you up for a more enjoyable life. Thanks Dunn, never stop jamming those riffs 🤘🤘
Thank you, really appreciate your support. Music is life changing and the guitar has been my longest passion . I’m humbled and thankful by all the heartfelt responses the video has received.
@@DUNN.. music sure is life changing, even just listenting to it is amazing, but playing something is even better. I sometimes play a bit of bass and a few weeks ago I started finger drumming.
Cheers brother - Your love for guitar comes through in spades and its obviously very genuine which makes this content ever more appealing. Thanks for keeping it real and for bringing the riffs!!!
Your videos definitely help me want to keep playing and my 🤏 is so much better thanks to your advice and taking your time to help me with it i appreciate you mate 💯🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanx for your honesty and letting me know I’m not alone in your space. Those of us who play from the heart and soul understand what you say is true. I too subscribe to your philosophy and wish you and all of us kindred spirits the ability to play from the heart will continue. bless!
You rule, Dunn. You really have given me the kick in the ass that I needed to actually work hard at playing metal. I've been playing for 26 years and always struggled to break out of my Pink Floyd and 90s rock molds that I got stuck in early on. Metal has been my favorite music since my early 20s (I'm 40 now), but it's always been "too hard" for me to get. It's been very rewarding seeing myself go from really shitty at it to actually being able to play a song like Crystal Mountain fairly well (though far from perfectly!), just in a couple of months. Thanks for everything you do!
Thank you, really appreciate the support. I’ve only been pushing my Death metal side the last 5 years as I struggle as a lead player and realised tremolo picked riffs was something I could achieve. Add that to some personal struggles and the extreme side of metal has really helped me.
Dude, I look forward to your videos. Your videos make everything so approachable and easy to understand, plus you are super down to earth. I see myself in your personality and would totally be your friend if I lived in Australia!
pretty much one of the FEW in the guitar knowledge community whom teaches and passes on the torch with heart, honesty and integrity! Thanks ever so much! Trying to learn this instrument from others online HAS NOT been easy, as most of them only care about what money and fake praise they can get heaped on them from others! With you it has been vastly different, as you LOVE the guitar and LOVE Metal!! Thanks again!!
