Wasn't really a brushstroke. He was more or less just shifting the paint that was already there to fill in the crack. If he was "brushing it on" it wouldn't have worked at all lol. The word "dab" was just to emphasize that you're not literally wiping the shit on like a canvas.

Thanks for the video, but the part I was looking for, how to smooth out the surface afterward, was missing. Seems to me that being able to finish off the repair so that it is invisible (or nearly so) is the main point.
But more than anything, what the hell is that clanging racket in the background at the start? Not sure what you were thinking there.

Never use putty filler. It fills the scratch too much and unevenly. Just use the correct paint, high quality clear coat, and buff/polish. Can go one step further before polishing by lightly sanding with 2000grit. But the the previously scratched area will look better than the rest of the car and it will make you want to sand/polish the entire car LOL. This is how obsessions are started lol

Thanks for sharing! Any specific reason to dab paint on instead of taping off and spraying? Seems spray would leave smoother surface than dabbed on paint, so curious about this.
What is paint leveler? I cant find it anywhere! Is there anything else I can use to remove the extra putty?
Did a bunch of Fiberglass work, we were always taught that the filler must be worked slightly LOWER than the surface to allow for the paint to ever so slightly "fill" so that when you sand and polish it is flat, not like the wagon scratch video, I unfortunately need to test this on my keyed black metallic suv

I need to know what foam block, what brand or style of filler putty and paint lever, and clear coat, I'm going to have to use
I notice a lot of complaints here but if it's a relatively quick and not to involved scratch repair procedure that's required I think this offers a relatively good blue which can be modified to each individuals taste/knowhow. I'm going to modify it by adding paint to the filler.
This video is so much better than that g wagon video from 3 years ago. Experience? i thing so.
But why not sand down with 5000grit (feathered around the scratch to blend ) and then polish?
The video with the G wagon was just a test, it was going to get repainted anyway.

Larry we all know you are the God of good looks for cars. I need your expertise! I just purchased a Tesla model 3 and decided to ceramic coat it but I clay bar'ed it, compounded and polished it and then added the Gyeon MOHS kit. Today was 100hr. so it was cured. I had to get into my truck, opened it and my bike rack hit the back causing 1 1/2 high scratch by about a pencil thick whith a minor dent as well. Should I do what you showed in this video? Or get paint and wet sand and compound/polish or purchase Dr. Colorchip? Please help, thank you

Larry never replied to this comment or an email I sent. So I tried the Dr. Colorchip mind you because the Tesla is aluminum it did have a good divot. I added 2-3 coats and id say 90% of people would never ever notice it. My only other option would have been bondo etc. which I didn't want to bother with.. Good luck

use automotive lacquer thinner...works the same as paint leveler.The glazing compound is lacquer base so lacquer thinner will remove the excess.

Yes it went to the metal. You can see the primer as white on the edges of the scratch.
The main point to this video was to prevent rust.
Please is always my dream to know how to learn to fix deep scratches for my personal use, can't afford to go to school can you tell me what products do I need and where I can buy those products

I couldn't find the needed ingredients either. I noted that the tube in the video said wizard so I googled Wizard scratch repair and found a kit.

Someone please show me where I can find a video where I can find a more relatable deep scratch. All I’m seeing are videos of these small line scratches that don’t even look deep. I’m sure they are but I recently got two mean scratches and their width are more than a skinny little line. Some of the paint is completely gone from this deep scratches, so I don’t know what to do or where to go, to get these scratches taken cared of.

In this video you did not sand the paint, you did not use polish either and you had finish using wax to protect the paint and the fixed zone.

I tried it this video took me a full day. It’s TOO HARD for average people. Also final result is not that good

Reduce background music
The putty is good but I would recommend using a spray can rather than the touch up brush after the putty and paint leveler.
Then, follow up with the clearcoat. It blends a lot better.
George Scott Nonsense, that way you just mess up a whole panel. Best to touch up.
You can blend it into an edge very easily with paint thinner and clear coat

paint was removed by the object that did the scratch. The entire void must be filled with paint and then wet sanded level, then buffed. Same goes for the Mercedes SUV vid you did long time ago (the door that got keyed). You are doing it so so wrong. I hope someday you will learn to fill paint voids with paint, not filler.
I have seen videos kind of doing what you indicate, but if you could add more details on how to do it properly/upload a video, it would be nice for those of us who can get the right touch-up paint but not the kit from this video. Cheers.

There are several components to doing a pro job. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Magic Painter Method (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful course i've heard of. Check out this awesome resource.
Noise is super annoying
This is not how to do it, you start with cleaning, then paint on the primer, then fill the gap with clear coat and buff the clearcoat to perfection after curing. 3 steps perfect result.
Black is too easy.Do it with red or blue candy then.
