I can confirm that it is very useful to keep MIG and TIG hooked up at the same time and I quickly go back and forth between both processes, often depending on whether I’m welding something flat on a table or at an awkward angle.
Switching back and forth at the tap of the pedal or touch of the mig trigger seems to be where the Miller really shines. Wish Miller had the range of adjustability of the Esab.
@@JeffinTD I’ve wondered if the Miller is better made or more rugged. I know the bigger much more expensive Miller TIG machines are, but at this price point any combo machine might be a bit of a hobby machine. My Rebel 205 died with very minimal use after a few months, ESAB first serviced it, then replaced it, and even the replacement seems a bit flimsy and sloppily out together. It works but I wish it was a better machine and wonder if the extra ranges was worth it. But the Miller might be made in the same Chinese factory. :)
Wow. I would guess they are similarly made. Glad Esab took care of you. By the time you add a 2nd regulator to Esab, price wise they seem pretty equal. I don’t know why Miller didn’t allow more frequency, balance and amp adjustments. For an inverter, one would think it would be a matter of programming.
Do you have to swap the gas line on the back moving from mig to tig? I don't understand since it shows a tig torch with the spool gun? Is that just for acdc
@@ScottydoingNo, I leave both gases always connected. To switch between MIG and TIG, you just have to flip the ground between negative and positive and plug in the TIG or MIG connection. Just takes fifteen seconds, although the Miller doesn’t even take that. Nothing needs to be unplugged or moved as I understand it.
ESAB looks like a sweet machine. But it looks like the switch mig to tig is simpler on the Miller 220. No switching cables or unplugging anything. Pull the trigger for mig, hit the pedal for tig. No need to go back to the machine.
Right. On the Esab Rebel it looks you have to disconnect everything except the Mig gun. Which I am sure is nice you don't have to mess with wire feed or anything. I am currently shopping this machine.
I just dropped the hammer on this dude from y’all Friday night! Got the regulator and Bakers Bundle. Was gonna get spool gun but they are back ordered. I’m gonna be anxious all week waiting for this thing!
If you have gas for mig wouldn't you use that same gas for tig welding mild steel? In that case do you take the gas and swap it from the mig bung on back of welder too the tig one?
Great machine Andrew, i am waiting for buy one, but i been read this machine fails ... this show a error code and this fail a couple times ,specialy de rebel205, i need yo.know how works this guaranties if you send this machine to south América , thanks Men

But, the miller is DC only, where this is ac/DC tig
@@samwagner31 Miller 220 is AC/DC tig.

Can the Rebel 205 be used with a water cooled setup?
Do you guys ship to Canada?
Great info, though it looks like you filmed under water.
Can the 205 run .045 wire?
Would you ship to India ?
If you email us we can let you know our international order process. support@bakersgas.net
miller 220 or esab 205? any thoughts?
I got the 205 but never used the 220. I just hope it lasts me 15 years or more. It's got me nervous with all those electronics.
