Originally marvel studios wanted this movie to connect with the sam raimi spider man movies but sony didn’t like that idea. In this idea of the beginning for the mcu ,tony stark was the person who helped crafted doc ocks mechanical tentacles which would have connected this iron man movie and the first three raimi spiderman movies to kick off the mcu
That’s wild. I heard that in 2012, Andrew Garfield spider man was supposed to be in the mcu, but obviously got replaced with Tom Holland.
@@notyouraverageeliwell, he’s in the MCU now at least
Just imagine Spider-Man being apart of that first line up…
The role of Tony Stark was tailor made for RDJ
Early MCU movies are top tier!
What do you mean early mcu, the marvel universe stopped after endgame……right? ……
@@Reggieuchiha1992bro never discovered sarcasm
@@Starlink28 yeah... 100% Nothing else came out afterwards.
But fr GOTG 3 was the only Marvel movie I liked since Endgame, it's crazy how incompetent the writers suddenly became once there wasn't a clear overarching goal, absolutely nothing happens in the modern movies... I just want another movie as emotional and carefully written as Iron Man 1.
To be fair to RDJ, he had nothing to do with Howard leaving. A more realistic version of what happened is that Favreau had difficulty with Howard, with giving him direction. The film was a success because of Downey, Marvel knew they had to pay him more for the 2nd. His pay for the first was $500,000, Howard's was $3mil. The film made $585mil. Marvel could have paid both actors generously, if they wanted to. Howard thought he would be starring alongside Downey on IM2, but Favreau cut his screen time. A Marvel exec (pos) guy by the name of Ike Perlmutter used that as an excuse to cut Howard's pay. Perlmutter told Howard that Downey was the reason for his pay cut. Howard walked.
Also, he claims that he got the part for Downey. No one else has said that. Marvel head office was convinced to hire him by the director, the exec producer, and the studio president, the only people with influence.
BTW, try not to use Screen Rant or Fandomwire for reference, they make up a lot of bs that's not accurate
RDJ has said that Favreau wanted him for the role, but Marvel was reluctant due to his (then) recent unreliable history (of drinking and drug use). After much wrangling, they gave him a shot and RDJ proved himself to the studio. He inhabited the role so effectively that they couldn't picture doing IR2 without him. For Howard to want to make the same as RDJ after the initial film is crazy. The series is literally called Iron Man, not War Machine. We saw how easily they recast Howard's role with Cheadle. Howard is a good actor but he didn't play the role so effectively so as to make it near impossible to picture anyone else playing it.
hate to break it to you but there's a book called the story of marvel studios by tara bennet and paul terry and RDJ writes the outro of the book himself and he himself admits that Terrance Howard had a big hand in him getting the Iron Man role sooooo.......yeeeeeeah 😬😬😬
@eianblosch3341 Don't mind you "breaking it to me" at all 👍
Downey is an overly generous person, and sometimes gives more credit than is due. I've seen him do it many times. And he's not the type to bad mouth others.
The afterword in the book you're referring to also has Downey crediting Fergus, Ostby, Marcum, Holloway, and August with writing a " strong script", but if you've done much reading on the production you know that Downey, Favreau, and Bridges rewrote the whole thing because they weren't satisfied with it.
Evan: Peggy Cawwwtah!
Patrick: She’s dead.
Had me cryin 🤣
does Jerry not know that Deadpool is not a hero he is a anti hero
Deadpool is none, Deadpool is just him doing whatever he wants. He don't do the heroes job but he also don't kill innocent people
The first real modern Marvel movie and the one that pulled them out of bankruptcy is Blade with Wesley Snipes. It was that series that enabled them to move forward with Marvel Studios and the rest is history.
Yeah for sure, back when marvel was suffering from bankruptcy they had ended up letting other studios make live action adaption movies with some of their characters to make some money back then. Thats how sony had the rights from marvel to make spider-man live action movies and a couple of animated movies
Lol absolutely not
Great reaction! FYI, RDJ was an Oscar nominated candidate for his role of Charlie Chaplin long before Ironman. His difficulties off screen were major obstacles prior to Ironman. The studio took a chance and the rest is MCU Magic😊
Let’s go boys! Keep them coming!
This was a pleasant treat to open the app to ❤🎉
My favorite Avenger Iron Man :)
Pat out here with the car knowledge, respect!
I've never seen the avengers animated series that came out when I was in high-school but it makes sense why they would make it because the marvel vs capcom games were so popular & fun
This was literally a perfect movie 👏🏾 should watch The Incredible Hulk (2008)💪🏾
mcu marathon lets goo time to enjoy the ride.
“That’s a fire scene”
You mean the one where he set everything on fire? Lol
When are y’all going to react to the atom eve special episode for invicinble?
Awesome
"She's dead." 😀 @1:21 lol
Welcome to the MCU 💯👍👍
If ya'll like RDJ please watch his Sherlock Holmes movies🙏. I think you guys would really enjoy the film style.
Can someone chime me in as to why they are doing it in timeline order with Captain america before this?
Iron man is a massive paet of the avengers in comics probably even more so than anyone else at this point he even has a fight with captain marvel
Rob is either High asf or this guy needa get sum rest lol
Are they watching these in release order or timeline order??
2:16 😂😂😂😂😂
Still one of my favorite Mcu Film IRon Man no doubt this is top
13:56 that is NOT the national guard....🤔
Hell dude imagine if Killmonger was in there
yeah man what if? 👀👀
What about rocket the raccoon he’s a genius, can literally make bombs that blow up small moons with shit he finds😂
Technically reed richards (mr. Fantastic) is the smartest man alive
After MoM, suree...

Next on the list is The Incredible Hulk.
Reed Richards makes Tony Stark look like a moron.
skipped over Captain Marvel?
That’s what I’m thinking like why

Iron Monger is very powerful in his own right!! He can beat Green Arrow, Black Canary and Bat 🦇 Man 👨! And we know how O. P. The DC Universe is 🎉
I for one believe Terrance Howard can play any part he wants. He’s quite capable. He just gets in his own way. For Robert Downey Jr to come back for two he was going to have to get a raise. The raise cut into Terrance Howard’s money. 🤷🏽♀️
The raise did not cut Terrance's money, lol. He wanted the same amount as Robert or even more, and was told to gtfo.
Terrence Howard >
I miss Terrance Howard as Rhodey. I don’t care for Don Cheadle portrayal of Rhodey at all
Ironman easily one of the best avengers, top 3 at worst. Him, Thor, and Cap. Black Panther if you include him. Ironman fire 🔥. Playboy, billionaire, entrepreneur. And got a badass tech suit. This movie is lit and it started the motion for the MCU movement
He was always the most entertaining character of the original six

What happened to the Ashoka reactions
mid
He looks just like the comics Tony Stark
Mr Fantastic enters the chat…and Dr Doom, And Charles Xavier, and Black panther. Honestly Tony is like Number 4 or 5 for smartest ppl in marvel 😂
Black Panther not smarter than him. Nor Charles. Doom and Reed I might give you
Only Reeds and maybe Doom
Nah Tony Stark is second smartest guy after Reed Richards, I would put Doom third, alongside Hank Pym, Bruce Banner, Amadeus Cho. Charles has telepathy and is smart, but not genius intellect level. Hell Peter Parker is smarter than him. T’Challa is very smart but not above those guys mentioned above.
Calm your organs nerd
Black Panther and Charles aren't smarter than Tony. In his level maybe... but on feats and raw genius Tony takes it. Reed and Doom are smarter though, no doubt.
Y’all skipped Captain Marvel?
That’s what I’m thinking like why

In 2008, the MCU kicked off with Iron Man, which earned a 94% on the Tomatometer. In 2013, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted on the ABC network and earned a 95% on the Tomatometer. In 2015, Daredevil made its debut on Netflix and scored 89%. On January 15th, 2021, WandaVision continued the trend of critically acclaimed debuts when it premiered on Disney+ to the tune of 91% on the Tomatometer and began a run of shows on the streamer that currently boasts a 90.3% Tomatometer and 90.1% Audience Score average. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight have all impressed both audiences and critics, and together they have a higher critic and audience score average than the theatrically-released movies, Netflix shows, and other series released on ABC, Hulu and Freeform.

Contrary to popular belief, The audience score of Marvel’s Phase IV is actually higher than all others, but it is quite clear that Phase IV hasn’t pleased the audience as much as they expected. On the other hand, the critic score has fallen by 5.59% from Phase III to Phase IV.
As per general audiences reactions, a Marvel movie with around 80-84% audience score is satisfactory. The films, which are over 87% score, came out as huge crowd pleasers.
If we calculate the major team-up movies, the average is around 90.16%. Not only does this involve more capital, but the number also shows that Marvel needs to hit massive expectations, as these films need to be over 85% every time. So, On average, for a Marvel film to be a huge success, The movie needs more than 85% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite a lot of criticism, the audience score on average has increased over the years. If we discuss phase-wise over the years, audience satisfaction is growing every year, as the difference between Phase III and Phase IV average score is 2%.
This study reflects the fact that audience expectations have grown quite a lot, and Kevin needs to find something new to please the crowd. Overall, all 4 Marvel phase scores put an average audience score of 82.50%, which can be troublesome for a giant movie-pushing studio with relatively high success as Marvel.

Ironman 1 is pretty much perfect minus the villain being a corporate guy who turns evil just cause. Robert Downey was cast perfectly for Ironman
If y'all were going in chronological order, Captain Marvel should have been the next movie after Captain America: The First Avenger...Iron Man is the first movie released in the MCU, but it is the 3rd movie in the timeline.
Yeah, hopefully they go in release order cuz chronological order is wack
Nobody should watch that trash, Captain Marvel sucks ass.
