man this game was so underrated
It has many flaws, more than the first one. But the art style is out of this world.
Tbh the only game with this kind of art style that really panned out was Superhot. Both Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Mirror's Edge Catalyst were underwhelming compared to their predecessors.

Gameplay-wise it had a lot of untapped potential, but OST was just perfect and atmosphere would have been perfect too if the city was more lively (like more people walking/chatting/chilling out on terraces and runners running around). I suppose it just needed more budget and time.
Imagine if they remastered Catalyst but amplified the world even further, new areas, more story, a whole plot revolving around Rebecca continuing to be a terrorist, and Noah returning through modified version of Reflection that revived him, or possibly even a Glimpse in to Birdmans past, where we play as him or Noah in their youth and prime, witness the Riots and a lot more, or even Faiths' future, where she gets kidnapped and brainwashed to be a normal employ for a few years until she starts snapping out of it and piecing it back together.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst really deserved a few more years of development, the ending felt all so sudden. There is just so much lore that was only covered in form of recording tapes, shame it couldn't be put into gameplay and cutscenes. I mean, did you know Celeste was part of Catalyst's world? Well, not if you didn't listen to the tapes, quite sad really.
@@wb6930 I read every document, as well as listened to every recording, it's quite marvellous really, though I agree, it wasn't what it should've been, but nothing ever really is with EA.

I love hanging out in the game through the night. The music is so magical, the setting...everything!
These are what I listen to to help get me through my workday. Perfect background music that envelops me without drawing attention to itself. I just sit back and pretend I'm working on my laptop somewhere in Glass.

What a comforting yet somber environment given life by this incredible track, the Blade runner influence is very noticable.
I can just imagine I'm living on my own apartment in a tall building and turning off the light looking down on the window and just eye balling the city lights

I no longer have access to the game, I don’t own it anymore, but I hope to be able to buy it again sometime. This game was so incredibly beautiful, and the music was phenomenal. Thank you Gaming Ambience. I had forgotten about the magic of Solar Fields’ tracks. Thank you for showing up at the top of the search bar. This is just what I was looking for.

Okay - the Shard variants are my number 1 favourites, but the Downtown District variants are a close second. They’re so cool and sexy. I’ve probably said ‘thank you’ a thousand times already but I’ll say it again anyway - thank you for these, Gaming Ambience!!!! I can’t wait to place this game again.

The first view is just amazing, I would sit there for hours. Gaming Ambience, are you going to do Act 3 The View Dash, by any chance?
I'll have act 2 up in a few hours maybe and act 3 soon after, maybe tomorrow sometime.
It is interesting how everyone remembers the game as being so enjoyable, yet no one seems to be playing it now. It's as if the game has ceased to exist. Some people seem to only care about graphics and will disregard a game if it doesn't meet their standards, even if it was previously enjoyed by many. It is a shame that this game is no longer as popular as it once was, but I will continue to play it in 2023.
I know, right? People need to stop playing games purely for the graphics and instead play video games 🎮🕹 because they are fun.
@@erickwireman9530 I completely share this view. Many people today, in fact almost everyone, play games mainly for the graphics. Preferably, with RayTracing and all the other bells and whistles. There was no such thing in the past, and I don't need it now. A game may look impressive, but if the gameplay is bad, I have no interest in it. Personally, I still play GTA III or GTA San Andreas. The graphics may not be up-to-date, but the game still gives me pleasure. Unfortunately, most developers nowadays only focus on the graphics.
@zyst0290 if only people could see things the way we do. Sometimes, I will play games from the 90s (like Sonic and Knuckles, for example) purely because it's fun. I even still like the GameCube (like Kirby Air Ride, for example) for the fun and the nostalgia.
@@erickwireman9530 You speak my heart, but unfortunately it's hard to find someone who thinks the same as you and me these days. Times have changed, even in the gaming industry. Gameplay doesn't have the same meaning anymore. Game developers prefer to make pay2win games with good graphics but bad gameplay, or those fast paced games that I don't really play either. I crave open-world games, a great story, outstanding gameplay, or a platformer. Nostalgic games would also be great. That's what I want, not the newfangled stuff that's currently on offer.

Hum... Sorry to tell you, but this mirror's edge game is a reboot and it wasn't a commercial success :/ so we won't be seeing one in a while... If at all.

@@Toyota-Coaster nah bro another game will definitely come out; mirrors edge is one of the flagship EA games and has a strong female lead, the latter will most likely be the reason they revive the game as this is one of the few games that has that.

Yeah, every district has 3 day time themes and 3 night time themes, the View district has 2 day themes and 2 night themes. They change depending on which act you are on.
