ME Catalyst is an absolutely gorgeous game. I'm keeping it installed just to run around and take in the views. The first time I found my self in Ocean Pier my jaw just dropped. It's a real shame that a lot of people don't appreciate it. DICE did a remarkable job with level design and gameplay.
It's not a shame, it's reality. The majority of plebes have common taste, preferring boring, all-the-same FPS game, shooting sh*t non-stop. MEC is art, a thing of beauty, a soul-clensing masterpiece.
Despite the game's under performance it is still one of my favourites, I am a sucker for anything to do with parkour, I never get tired of just parkouring the streets and doing side quests like timed delivery runs.
That really sad, if you like parkour so much just get custom maps for Mirrors Edge 1. Catalyst Ubisoft content is super boring, i had much more fun making my own time trials then doing side stuff. Honestly jus do ppls trials or make really hard ones, I made mine stupid hard and my friend who don't give a crap about parkour games even liked them, even tho he failed so much bc he doesnt play ME:C lol
Its still nostalgic and even the music itself makes you feel nostalgia this is amazing i haven't played this game much but its music is what keeps me coming back to it cause it touches that nostalgia so it is nostalgia its like any other music you hear that gives you that same feeling
@@kevkosta Nostalgia is something completely biased. It distorts the assessment. It causes a person to idealize something. It artificially inflates its value. I played both games. Not as a child. I could fully appreciate them. And I love the music of Solar Field (the background music to Mirror's Edge). Regardless of whether I play it "on my own" or in a game.

For example, if a person was a child, he or she had more time for himself and fewer worries than as an adult. He was happy. Therefore, whatever he did then (as entertainment) will evoke this feeling of happiness. It does not have to have anything to do with the quality of e.g. games. By the way, MirrorEdge Catalyst is only 8 years old. ;)

Somehow the music reminds me more of the original Mirrors Edge, seeing the add for that game on the tv, and how much I wanted to get a ps3 to experience the new generation of games. And when I finally had I was just loving every second of it. I wish I was a kid again

Mankind has only now been able to appreciate the game for what it is. When they have already played cyberpunk 2077 and want to see another realization of cyberpunk. In 2016, the location design and music were too flashy and arthouse. Now this game is like a jigsaw puzzle built into the overall imagery of what the future looks like and no longer looks like something surreal. THE TIME FOR THIS GAME IS NOW.
I've been playing Mirrors Edge for the past few days. Got it back in 2016. I've been playing through it thinking that I had completed it when I bought it. Now I'm going through the game but realizing that I never got past the mall level. I bought catalyst the other day. I'm excited to see how much had changed. I also hope that the game is actually good.
1:14:25 is probably a game anthem. Still remember that chills when you pass the tutorial ang go to the roof with the view of the Glass city. And this music starts playing
When cutscenes comes on (1:11:54)…my heart starts to get really heavy and my breathing becomes shallow…overwhelming anxiety and then followed by watery eyes. The fact this music does that, is crazy how can it be that moving? I’m in awe.
Because a lot of people are idiots, I've been gaming since the atari 2600, real gamers appreciate beauty. Too many generic fifa and cod players, alot of people great at one game, true gamers are good at thousands.
The difference is before I just put all ambient sections from the ost album together. This one I use the best of both the album and in-game music, which I can separate the instruments and make some combinations that not many people have heard before.

I really love ME music it sounds much different then other games with similar genres so id really love to see the music get altered in some way.

If it had a better paced story, it think it would’ve been a massive success, but hey, some things happen for a reason, I guess.
It was its strongest point for sure. They also improved a lot in story writing.

There are some soft and more subtle cues in here that I hadn't been able to find on any of the OST. I really appreciate that.
