- Skyline GT-R restoration specialist, Garage Yoshida (Nara, Japan) have developed re-engineered replacement strut tower panels by 3D scanning the original and using high strength steel which were not available when these cars were originally produced. The original panels were prone to rust, especially on the BCNR33 and BNR34, as water easily entered in between the panels from the wheel well.
We are proud that the first BBL MINE’S R34 build will be the first car to have these panels actually installed. Here is a video of the story behind the development and the installment process at Garage Yoshida.

Wow, this is so amazing to have Yoshia San, for having the courage and passion to recreate new body panels for the GTR chassis. I am appreciative to Garage Yoshida for doing this for all of the GTR community. I hope my BNR32 never gets rust and needs to replace the strut towers, but I know where to get them if I ever need one. 🛠

Are these newly made strut tower panels interchangeable between R32-R33-R34? Are they less prone to rust?
They will only be less prone to rust if you also seal the underside as well, as he mentioned, Nissan only sealed the top side from factory, hence the rust. So restore, re-seal top as per factory, and also seal the underside where required soo water does not build up in those problem areas again.

Amazing development. Thank you for your work in keeping Skylines on the road! Am I correct in saying that these new turrets will not fit GTST chassis? If not, do you think you will ever make them for the mighty GTST?
I’m pretty certain all the models, GTST/GTS4/GTS/GTR share the same chassis for each R Chassis model. It’s just the inner and outer guards are different. R33 and R34 share the same chassis if I’m not mistaken.
