I don't give out perfect scores often, but Volbeat's For Evigt (The Bliss) is a PERFECT song start to finish.
VOLBEAT emerged from Copenhagen in 2001. Since then, they’ve tirelessly clawed their way to hard rock’s upper echelon with endless touring and a string of six beloved full-length albums. Knew absolutely nothing about them going into their show with Ghost last week. What… a… show!!! Totally blown away would be an understatement. This is one band you MUST see live. Completely hooked. All I’ve been listening to since.
Same...I knew of them, but was there to see Ghost....Ghost was great, but Volbeat blew me away...been listening to them ever since...saw them in Sugarland.

The guitarist is called Rob Caggiano. He's been in Anthrax before and is pretty well known in the metal industri, maybe a little underrated. But bringing him in was the best decision Volbeat ever made. Love your reaction to one of the best songs ever made! 🤘

For Evigt/The Bliss was our wedding song. Im getting the chorus for For Evigt tattooed onto me. Its just absolutely fucking mind blowing and will always boost my mood
Johan Olsen who sings the Danish part has a PhD in protein crystallography and worked for many years as a researcher at University of Copenhagen.
He is also the lead singer his own band "magtens korridorer".

There is another Danish band which have the same sound quality when they go live. They are called Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. They play a kind of progressive rock. I have been at a concert where I could not tell the difference if it was live or studio :-) But for sure Volbeat are up there with the best of the best. The singer on chorus Johan also plays in a third Danish band called "Magtens Korridorer" which translates to "Corridors of power"...another very cool band. At the small break before 4th chorus...Johan and Michael looking at each other...saying....."Do we dare do this"...they know this is the spot where the audience goes full in 🙂 BTW "For evigt" means "4 ever". At this specific concert 40.000 people are screaming at the top of thier lungs

Nailed it brother! Encapsulated Volbeat perfectly! The best band going today and most people have no idea who they are. Yeah they have a huge following, especially in Europe, but I’m surprised that everyone I see isn’t wearing a Volbeat shirt because they are once in a generation

Saw them live Feb 4th. My favorite band and they are absolutely just as good if not better live than in the studio. Totally fun, full of personality, and grabs the crowd.

I was introduced to Volbeat by my cousin about 4 years ago. I absolutely love them!! I think a lot of the older fans don’t care for this one as much because it’s not as hard as some of their old stuff but I’m like you…this song speaks to me and I love it so much!!!

Their big breakthrough hit was called gardens tale which also had Johan singing along. A huge hit here in Denmark and then a good 10 years later they decide to make another song together and it's an even bigger hit. Some people just know their business.
Lonesome rider might be my favorite Volbeat song though.
Volbeat's been a little out of the Limelight here in Denmark, but when making a top ten, Volbeat is on a lot of other peoples' lists, I did actually kinda forget them, but I instantly recalled this, because it'd be in every party, in every club, and on every radio station for years on end, and it didn't actually become too old, like a lot of other good songs often become when played too often. There were just a lot of other up and coming artists that took over the spotlight, once they didn't release as many bangers.

Johan Olsen, the guy who looks like a homeless drug addict, has a PhD in molecular biology and used to work for Copenhagen University. As well as being the lead singer of Magtens Korridorer, a really popular rock band in Denmark.
Robs acoustic guitar is on a stand, fixed. So he can just let go of his electric and walk up to the acoustic and start to play.
Handball is a big thing here in Denmark too, and a few years ago when we became world champs (first time), the chorus here were sometimes played after a particularly good goal. It took on REAL hard and in the end of the tournament, the fans would keep singing it even after the music was turned off. It was magic ❤️ love Volbeat
The drummer is wearing a T-shirt with the logo of another great danish band. Sort Sol (Black sun). A classic of theirs is Let your fingers do the walking. Might be worth a look, if you like great music.

Good solid, above average rock music. Really good and solid. Nothing spectacular, but very very good. Then add in Michael's vocals, and you have a world class sound! His voice is one of a kind!

the first time i heard them in summer festival. Evening was a bit boring cause there were a bunch of bands from other countries i never heard before and i didn't feel it, but when come Volbeat on stage i loved from the first to the last song. They had amazing energy and they were very warm to the audience

Did you know that before Volbeat the singer (Michael Poulsen) had another band? The name of that band is Dominus and they have an album with the title Vol.Beat. So now you know where the name Volbeat came from.

What everyone do not know is that Johan olsen do not always attend on volbeats concerts. Johan olsen is the guy who songs for evigt, the guy in jeans clothes.
When e lurks up and begins to sing that gives me huge gose pumps.
Alot if people have been very harsh against Johan olsen, for example calling out that he looks lika a bum etc.
What most people do not know is that Johan olsen went to the university and got ph.d in proteincrystallography and is a quite big scientist in Copenhagen.

I myself think they became to mainstream/poppy at their third album, but I looove their first two! Before Volbeat, Michael was actually a growler in his band Dominus
I am going to see them at Sweden rock festival this Summer. Nightwish first and right after them it is Volbeat. Its going to be great. For me Nightwish is the better band but still will be a great evening

Still Counting was the first song I ever heard years ago when I was a kid, and always liked it, it wasn't until I grew up more and understand what I liked more that I found the band again. Great Musik. Great band. A shame I only remembered them from your steams but hey, we're back now. Definitely a great song, dad and I were watching Led Zeppelin "The Song Remains the Same" last night and holy shit. I was never big on Zeppelin but, you can't say they weren't a Hel of a rock band. Jimmy Page and fucking John Bonham. Definitely kings.

Originally I didn't like Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Possibly because of the hype.
It didn't change till I had to play the bass on some of their songs(while taking music classes).

Social Distortion is balls on perfect to their recording… so not over produced and magical every 22 times I have seen them…. Hence Mike Poulsen lead singer from Volbeat has a giant Social Distortion tattoo on his arm and they have a song called Mr and Mrs Ness…. Social Distortion for the win!!!!

The reason you dont know the lyrics, most of them in Danish..go figure, This is For Evight...The bliss is the english version..this is not it. Guitarist was Rob Caggiano..only played with Anthrax for like 13 years.. 10 years with Volbeat, award winning producer...that's who the guitar player was.. He just left the band..they now have a guitar player seventeen grades lower than my dog achieved. You get what you get in an emergency...that's why UTD got Weghorst last season.. Hopefully a better guitarist will join once this tour is over. He's a bit pants.
