Hi mate ! quick question, a lil late must admit ahah, just was wondering how this mod holds up so far ? does the glue still holds the audio port ? is the screen damaged by the glue ? thx in advance !
Amazing! The ultimate SP! This is the one feature I always thought was regrettably missing. I ended up having to buy an attachment that plugged into the charger (or gamelink port?) in the back. Are there any other mods to hope to add? Built-in IR/wireless to trade pokemon, neon highlight, etc?
Word to the wise: Hot glue CAN crack an LCD. I used hot glue and I guess it thermally shocked an AGS-101 LCD I was putting in place on a GBA, and it destroyed the LCD, so be careful with that.
@@JoeBleeps it ain't loud but it is noticeable. More noticeable than my other GBA with a headphone jack adaptor. Not sure if using enemal magnet wire was a good idea. (Note: they both have power cleaner mods)
@@samuraivader3814 I'm a bit late but there are things called power filters or something that help with the noise. Macho nacho I think has a video on it
If the sound no longer comes out of the speaker (and it is a known good speaker) what could have gone amiss? I've got wires soldered to all the motherboard points (R out, L out and the capacitor top) i think something is fouling up where I connect it to the charge port.
Although I enjoyed it in not keen on doing this mod again any time soon! I can do the screen installations though. Check out my Instagram for more of that 😊
I used kynar, or at least a knock-off non brand version of kynar from ebay, and the slightly thicker black wire was 32awg Futaba servo wire, which is generally my go-to wire. The kynar is thinner so easier in this case.
Awesome video dude!
Thank you! The wiring guide and background info on your video was a massive help 😊
Thank you so much for uploading this. I'm planning to get this done on my GBA SP too. Love from India. ❤
you're welcome!
Super clean and straight forward. Glad you didn’t have to sacrifice any screw posts👍🏼
Thanks! I couldn't do that to it. I like the challenge of finding a better way
@@JoeBleeps Exactly! That’s how I am too. You kinda hit a wall sometimes and great thing I found your video haha
@@theghostlos always satisfying to solve a challenge
Nice work man
Thanks!
Makho is so great! It's crazy how much his channel has grown
Just lovely.
Great video! I hope you make a video similar to this for the neon advance.
nicely done!
Thank you!

It gets a lot of use and the socket is still rock solid!

Haha! If I find out any more I'll try them out but in the meantime I'm enjoying playing on it!
Awesome!
Thanks!

Thanks for that. Yeah best to be careful. Mine is only a fairly small low temperature one but I'd hate to destroy a screen like that!
I'm only worried about the sturdiness with hot glue. The pressure needed to plug in and unplug seems like it would be too much for simple hot glue
The glue is largely to hold it in place while I was closing it up, it's pretty secure in there
I just did this and it turned out great. The only thing that's bothering me now is the buzzing from having an IPS screen, even on mute I hear it.
That's a shame, hopefully you find some way to isolate it. Is it very loud buzzing?

USB C Charge port mod next? :)
Seems to be popular

Are the contacts on the speaker definitely still making a connection?
Leave it to modders to add a feature to the GBA SP that Nintendo should have added almost 20 years ago.
Right haha 😅
Can you do my gameboy advance sp for me where do I send it to

Amazing. What glue gun do you use?
Where is the usb c charging port?
It's on my to do list
What kind of wires

Add makho battery mod , to make it even more ultimate !
Yeah that's next!
I just bought it from ebay, just search makho on ebay, the product actually contain his name!
It's not perfect until it charges with USB C. Do a Video on that!
I'll investigate!
