I'm being entirely serious when I say, that these few reviews you've done so far are some of the best I've ever seen. You go into depth with the sound like a PGS demo, you go into the history of the pedal like a JJ Tanis review, and you keep it all light-hearted like an Anderton's/Rob Chapman video. Not to mention you play well, and the audio quality of these are awesome. I especially like that you go into the pros and cons of the pedal, which I don't think I've done ANYBODY do so far. Please keep making more of these!

Like this guys reviews but have to say I don't agree with all the comments here. I bought this pedal on the back of UA-cam and online reviews expecting to be disappointed. Well I have to say I was wrong. It's sounds fantastic and has replaced my Jam Rattler (another great pedal) on my pedalboard. The Rattler cost me 160 pounds brand new.
Back to the Soul Food - I was basically expecting a great clean boost but this pedal is so much more. Maybe it just pairs well with my 50th anniversary vintage reissue Jaguar but it's definitely more than a clean boost. When really driven it sounds incredible with blooming highs and lows. It's true that it is fairly bright, but ease off on the treble control and it gives up lovely smooth overdrive, without losing your tube amps sparkle. It's a great combination between the perfect overdrive and light distortion. I've so many pedals that's cost way more than this so there's nothing to lose with this one.
For reference, the amp I use is a dr z m12.
You really need to start doing demos again. Miss you Frank.

Finally some reviewer not pulling those silly tone-dubbing faces...
Do you think that this is going to serve good as my Blackstar HT5 solo booster? I already love this amp's gain channel, but it lacks gain a little for 'supersustainy-solo stuff' like Steve Vai/Joe Satriani or even Gary Moore or Eric Johnson. I've tried few TS and TS'alike pedals but they all killed the natural character, dynamics and punch of this amp, is Soul Food going to solve my problem?
EHX does talk about this as a "transparent boost", meaning that it isn't meant to color your sound too much. If you leave the tone at noon and don't push the gain too high, it works fairly transparently, so I think you'll still hear your amp's character. But I guess you could also consider a compressor if what you're really after is sustain.

I must own over 20 over drives and a box full of old EHX pedals.This pedal explosion is like women compulsively buying shoes instead its guys buying pedals. The only reason I would buy this is to support assembled in the USA. Other than that,the world does not need any more over drives.

This may very well be the most disturbing review I have ever had the pleasure of viewing, well played frankengeek well played.
The pedal is fine in the hands of a good guitarplayer.
If you play like this guy, no pedal in the world will help.
Aaaaaaaaaand every other video pedal reviewer on UA-cam just became irrelevant.
Sounds OK, but EHX needs to invest in a new designer. The names are lame and the graphics are bland. There must be a nearby body shop willing to apply some paint. But this was a fun demo so thanks for that.

Or you could just enjoy it. It's entertaining, he did it for free, and it's a good review of a very popular effects pedal. You must be like unappreciative.
Who cares if he spent a 100 hours doing it? Most people record pedal demos with their phone and the production values are zilch. This is refreshing and fun and last but not least informative.
You didn't mention the big Klon related buzz word- "transparency"! The SF delivers that for sure, which also leads to another benefit-it can stack really well in front of other dirt boxes. That's one of the main reasons I booted my Bad Monkey in favor of the SF, I don't play super high gain, so for me it works fine on its own.
