Habdan is among the best of PDM scents in my opinion. It is so gentelmanly and refind. I asked a friend to smell it to let me know what she picked up and she answered "aristocracy" :)

Habdan smells a bit like brandy with a sweet touch. It's very pleasant scent that i like to wear. Parfums de Marly has niche fragrances with designer appeal and that's why i like them. It's niche but very easy to wear. They can absolutely compete with brands like Creed and Tom Ford.
@Wolf Sauvage I totally agree. I believe most Creed fans are still living off the hype of yesteryear and even then it was still just hype but it really sucks now. I know of many sub-$100 fragrances that blow Creed out the water. Parfum de Marly is expensive but worth every single penny.
No, Habdan smells nothing even close to Black Orchid. If you want something a tad similar to Black Orchid, but masculine, then try John Varvatos Platinum. At first pray it immediately smells like Black Orchid then turns into a more masculine resinous fragrance.
great review! i was gifted this fragrance not too long ago. Like you, when i first smelled it, it reminded me of my youth. i couldn't pinpoint on what it was though. Now i totally get it. it does smell like chamomile tea! i used to drink chamomile tea every day with my grandpa so this smell is very nostalgic. I love this scent even more now.

I normally wear CREED! Never heard of this house or scent until today! I was in Nordstrom's and sampled it. Wow! My wife loved it so I snatched up the 125 mil bottle. I love it! I have a new scent in my collection. 👍🏾😎

Well i am on the sixth Parfumes De Marly Fragrance for my collection! I ordered habdan today! I have Layton Layton Exclusive Peguses Carlisle! I think this brand has over taken my old favorite Tom Ford which i have 50 fragrances of...Parfums De Marly just does it right for this guy! The fragrances i got rock the house and should last me my life!
I hate to say it, but I find Habdan very challenging. I recognise the quality and respect the perfumery....it's just a bit too out there for me. I much prefer something like Oajan, which operates in the same space as Habdan. Favs of the house are still Carlisle, Herod, & Pegasus.

Finally got a bottle. I can't get enough of it. At first I didnt think this would be something I could wear in all seasons. However after wearing it again I can definitely see myself getting away with this in the different seasons.
Great review. I have a decant of this I need to test more. First impression was it is very sweet and made me think of Oajan although after a side by side I could tell the difference. I currently own bottles of Herod and Pegasus which I like very much for fall and winter. Have you tried Pegasus? I think between JPG Le Male, Reflection Man and Pegasus I prefer Pegasus. Those three are often compared.
Habdan is nice but lacks the body and projection you need for an Eastern fragrance. It is well constructed none the less but I have tested far superior styles from ASAQ ( Abdul Samad Qurashi) , which is the premier Arabian fragrance house but hard to procure here in the US. In terms of incense, rose, oud blends , I find Montale's Louban pretty good and the drydown is more full bodied
Have you ever tried Rasasi Tasmeem? I swear it smells like Habdan, especialy in the opening. Indistinguishable by us common folk. Its a bit more intense but just a tenth the price. I got Rasasi Tasmeem for roughly $20 bucks for 100 mil.
i'm a fan of this one, wore it the other day. Its very similar to Oajan, but with more apples, i do get a few extra hours longevity on that one though.
Habdan smells great but my senses were a bit conflicted when I first put my nose on it. Why? On one hand, it has some gourmand elements similar to Hermes Ambre Narguile (apple, caramel and spices) that because to fire olfactory memories of Dutch Apple Pie...but it doesn't go into that territory. Then, it has those Frankincense and Myrrh vibes that starting leading one down the path of Hadban being an incense fragrance...but it doesn't go that far. Instead, I stuck in the middle-ground wondering if this were an incense or gourmand fragrance? At first it was puzzling based on my preconceived experiences. Once I decided to forego labeling Habdan...it's at that point where I really started to enjoy it on it's own merits. For some, Habdan is going to fall short in some areas. While for others, Hadban is going to offer the best of both worlds. Personally, I would rate Habdan as a 4.5....love this fragrances, but it's just misses being one of my favorites. Enjoyed the review!

It's my Birthday the 13th I tried to get Carlisle for my Birthday but the place I found it that I could afford sold out of it when tried to buy :'( I bought Habdan instead, one way or another wanted to make sure I got a PDM for my Birthday, how ever I am going to still try to get Carlisle, even if I have to wait another month or two :) Habdan was second choice so still works out ;)
Love your channel, Steven, but I have to disagree with you here. Habdan is an interesting scent (and a good one), but not 5/5 IMO. I’d give it a 3.5/5. Not nearly as appealing as Herod, Layton and Carlisle. Definitely shouldn’t be a blind buy, but it’s unique and worth sampling in a store or as a decant.
I really like Habdan. I actually prefer it over Pegasus, Herod and Oajan.

Jeremy James I think Creed fragrances are pretty safe. Tom Ford private blends will give artistic appeal, and Bonds have great variety.

I don't find it similar to Carlisle at all. Carlisle has a lot of vanilla in it.
