Despite not being a Villa fan I love Villa Park. Traditional but modern at the same time. It's the first stadium that comes to mind when you think of FA Cup semi finals. They need to put semi finals back to neutral grounds.
I inherited my Villa-ness from my late father who, as a child, lived a stone's throw away from Villa Park, until the Luftwaffe evicted him in the early '40s. He often recalled his visits there as a nipper. He told me that all the kids from the neighbourhood would climb the fence just after kick-off, and would then be 'conveyed' to the front, pitch-side, by hundreds of fans' hands on the ends of their upstretched arms - crowd-surfing many decades before any pretentious rock star thought to do it. He said it was like a magic carpet ride. I miss my dad. And he'd be rubbing his hands together excitedly at the anticipation of the upcoming season. UP THE VILLA!!!
As a villa season ticket holder for over 40 years, its easy to take for granted what we are used to. Thank you for reminding me of how special VP is and how fortunate I am to be there so regularly
Ah that's great to hear Paul. It's a ground that oozes class, just wish we had more still around but sadly folk seem to enjoy these glass bowls nowadays.
That's very nice of you to say Joshy, it is a glorious stadium tbh and hopefully the video has helped spread the word to more folk. Thanks for your comment! :)
@@acivilconversation18 can I just say one thing I admire about you is you're a small growing UA-camr producing quality content. You have a rather small audience, but that means you can communicate with them on a more one to one basis compared to your typical A list YT'er; you're able to know many of your regular viewers by name and respond to every comment. If you ask me, I'd personally much rather have your level of popularity than something like PewDiePie or shit😂
You've missed some inportant events; the building of the North Stand in the late 1970's at the Witton End, the rebuilding of the Witton Land stand in early 1990s.
Truly among the last of its kind! I understand new stadiums have there place, but we are losing so much history and tradition to such anonymous places! What’s the difference between The Eithad, Wembley, Allianz and other nondescript stadiums? The colour of the seats! Can’t really call the Kop, the Kop? The Stretford End, The Stretfod End if you fill in the corners and make it like everywhere! The Clock End at Highbury gone! The true twin towers of The Empire Stadium are long gone! The Holte is truly a dying breed! Long May it live as a true end, standing heroically on its own, roaring on the club we love!
Well, new subscriber here. It’s like this channel was specifically built for a stadium geek like me. Who nerded out on the live cameras for the NWHL build. Just promise you go beyond premier league. Go to the lower tiers (a video on Luton’s Kenny would be awesome) right up to the past/present/ future of Camp Nou if you plan to look beyond these shores. Good luck in this adventure sir!!
Ah that's great to hear, thanks for the subscribe it's much appreciated! I'm certainly keen to do a few more grounds into the future so watch this space.
There is no trinity road end. The trinity Road stand is alongside the dugouts. Holte end and Witton Lane end bookend the ground . Just thought I'd point that out. Otherwise good job.
I love Villa Park. A rare stadium amongst the Lego stadiums up and down the country. The trinity Road Stand was a thing of beauty.
Totally agree Bertie, thanks for your comment! :)

Total agree! Be a nice change from that soul sucker Wembley.

Best ground, best atmosphere can't be beaten
It's certainly up there...
What makes Villa Park so great? It's because Aston villa fans are the best fans in the world!
I'll take your word for it. 😝
It actually makes me feel so honoured that this is your most viewed video

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy
😂😂 At least you got a hundred mill for him though...
That Holte End enterance is beautiful.
It's a great sight that we don't see enough of in English football these days unfortunately

Great video UTV
Thank you very much for your comment Zohib, glad you enjoyed it! :)
There is only one GOD at Villa Park. Paul McGrath!
Given what happened to Grealish, it's hard to dispute that...

Thank you for your comment Sir! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video.
Great stadium although im biased to me ozzes history and class much better than modern stadiums! Up the villa
You're certainly right there! It's great to see Villa should be there for the foreseeable future as well.
You can’t have a pint in holte pub unless your part of the lions club unfortunately good but of history tho mate!
Oh really, that's a shame. Maybe say "A Civil Conversation sent you" and they'll let you have a pint ;)
I heard rumours that we are planning to rebuild the north stand and increase capacity of the stadium to 60,000 by 2031 (apparently)
Interesting... good to hear they're thinking about expansion instead of moving to a new stadium.
@@acivilconversation18 I would cry if we move stadium, I love it so much, it’s one of few grounds that is a mixture of tradition and modern
Very interesting cheers
Thank you very much for your comment, it's much appreciated! Just out of interest which part of the video did you find most interesting?
@@acivilconversation18 hmmm actually the early part detailing the move to Aston hall lower grounds

Thanks for the clarification Neil, much appreciated! Hope you enjoyed the video nonetheless.

If only I was that good with lottery numbers...
I appreciate the content, but please turn the music down. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback!
Shame you spoiled it with background music that was way too!! loud
Sorry to hear that Mike, will hopefully tweak the sound levels to your satisfaction in future videos. Thanks for the comment.
Matter of opinion if you live in Birmingham
Subbed
Cheers Ary, much appreciated! :)
God lives there
Shame you couldn’t spell Birmingham on the first graphic
Some things will always creep through the net but glad I've got you Stevo to keep me on my toes!
I'm a villa fan and what looked like a good video was ruined by the background music and noise very poor otherwise would have subscribed sorry
Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory, I'll make sure to bin that music for future videos. Thanks Roy.
Bostin is black country slang.... Just saying
I believe you're spot on Sir! Thanks for pointing that out. So it's a term that hasn't migrated to Aston then?
Am I about to watch a video on how they built Villa Park?
No.
Gotta get a life tho.
