I’m curious, how long did this hold? My experience, with springs is once the holding tab bends out, the spring is close to failure ready to break. If in a pinch, this will work temporarily, but for the long run, we learned to just go get a new spring and replace the old one. Use to run a lawn care service. We had 20 walk behind mowers, a couple riders several leaf blowers and trimmers running 5 days a week all day long, (and some of the guys were less than kind to the equipment) so something was always in need of maintenance or repair. Only had few spring fails, but of everyone of them we attempted to fix like this, I ended up replacing the spring later in the season. I’m curious what your experience has been. Note because of our heavy use, 3 years was about all the longer a mower would last before we had to replace them.

I've sent that mower on it's way and haven't heard back. But you're correct, the best way to fix this would be to replace the spring. Thanks for watching. Cheers

@@brantsmallenginerepairs oh, OK. Like I said, I was curious how long this would last- under normal residential use. Still it’s good to know there are options. 👍
