Oh Marta this page is so beautiful! Adding the lines going down was the best idea. It added the perfect balance to your page. -Now I just saw you made them lighter (I edited my comment after seeing it lol) Even lighter, the lines are still somewhat there. Shadowing is such a powerful method to enhance the overall look. Love it!❤

I use my craft/X-acto knife to fussy cut around the stems etc., it works really well. I am loving the Botanica book and plan to get the others as my budget allows.

I love this! I just watched your “Breaking the blank page” series. I made 10 pages with backgrounds to build on and I made one page with squares. I took different papers of the same color theme and cut them into squares and then glued them down in a grid pattern. Now I’m going to add some of your beautiful fairies and butterflies from your new collage books, which I can’t get enough of. I’m having so much fun. Im going through my studio looking at things with new eyes. “Would this work as a start for a blank page?” Cutting up magazines, using up scrapbook paper I’ve been holding onto forever because I keep thinking I’m going to do something really cool someday. Your idea about basically not sitting there thinking about it too long and to just start gluing it down has really opened a creative doorway for me that has been closed for awhile now. I stated out with my sons leftover school supplies, magazines, calendars, greeting cards, brown paper grocery bags, and whatever else I had since it was all I had. Over the years I was able to begin buying really good art supplies and scrapbooking kits and papers like crazy. I accumulated too much stuff and it cut off my creative spirit inside and that has been hard for me. Losing that intuitive feeling toward creating anything has made it a struggle emotionally, along with other life issues along the way of course. I’m just so happy to have finally gotten past a lot of that now. Except for too much stuff! 😜 You wouldn’t believe the things I threw away before we moved. I would love to share! Again, MARTA, thank you for being you!! ♥️🙏🏼

Really enjoyed your thought process always a learning experience. Looks fabulous….
Suggestion: maybe publish more than 1 page of each design next time. That way if you destroy a page by cutting something, you have 2 or 3 of the exact same page left, but you'll be able to use another part of it, that you didn't cut.
that is a great idea... however, before publishing the books, I was wondering is it better to have 10 designs x2 pages (so each would be doubled)
or have 20 designs not doubled. I decided to have bigger choice and more designs that repeat pages... I could make them double as they are now but the books would be way too expensive. It' not an easy choice :) thank you for suggestion, I will keep this in mind in making future books

I bought clear gesso to glue down the bits on page and I bought white gessop.but now I hear you say your using gel medium to stick down.im so confused marta.is that why my bits paper is not sticking and pages are giong horrible.im dyslectic so should I have used water colour book to stick bits in I cut from fairy book??
let me help you here, it can really be confusing
clear gesso is a primer, which is a top coat on the papers. some of the brands have them made the way that they would stick down delicate paper like rice paper or tissue paper.
gel medium is a glue, similar to glue stick or mod podge, this is a medium that sticks everything even a very thick paper. hope this helps
