A lot of people are interested in how I compose. All of the compositions have a story behind them. I simply try to say in music what I am trying to express in a story. Here is the story behind Destiny. A very busy who travels all the time promised his kids he would take them to the zoo. He isn't feeling well in the morning so he visits the doctor and the doctor tells him he has heart problem that can erupt anytime and today could be his last day.
On his way home as he is terrified of telling his wife and kids he realized what good would it do to tell them.
They would panic and spend the day worrying and taking him from doctor to doctor.
What if this really is his last day. Is this the way he wants to spend it. No way. He wants to go to the zoo with
    his kids as he promised.
So he comes home as if nothing happens and wakes up his kids. Those are the three opening notes of the piece.
However, three notes played like that also represent Destiny. This is the same way that the overture to Forza del destino by Verdi starts. Three long chords.
All through the first part there is repetition between the lower register and the upper register. This is the father trying
to teach the kids what is important in life. And they repeat after him.
When they get to the zoo after seeing the animals the father is exhausted and want to rest and the kids want to run around
in the grass. And that is the second part of the piece.
Then the father falls asleep. And the kids play and play. Meanwhile the man dreams of his whole life. All of a sudden kids approach the sleeping man (scales running up) gently and tap him three times and the return of the theme of first part.
"Grandpa" they say. "You promised us ice cream"
"Yes i did" he replies. So the grandfather takes his grand kids home and asks him the same questions and they answer him perfectly. The second time the first theme repeats it is supposed to be a bit slower. Because the grandfather is now taking his grand kids. So not only did the man live out the day but he also lived to take his grandkids to the zoo. Now how do you express a story like that in music. You have to use whatever tools are out there. And that is why my music sounds like Chopin, Liszt, Verdi, etc. We are all trying to express something through the music. Listen to La Forza del Destino overture and you will feel something alive. A living breathing emotion. Now they are the masters. I just compose because I am here to transmit stories through music and entertain people. If I have made peoples lives happier or more fulfilling then I have indeed succeeded. I want to thank everyone for listening and giving me feedback on my music. I really appreciate it. I read all the comments because they help me improve. Also it gives me ideas for future concerts. My thanks also to PianoReader who has made this possible. And no Pianoreader and Michael Pasikov are not the same person. May everyone have a wonderful week. Michael.

Myosotis - Thank you for your input. Chopin used the moonlight sonata as a basis for his fantasie impromptu. In fact he went as far as to take a whole passage write out of the 3rd movement and make it part and parcel of his piece. In my opinion it is not the influences that are important. But rather what the music is trying to say. Once Picasso took a bicycle seat and handle bars and put them together in such a unique way that it looked exactly like a bull. It was incredible. Because that is what creativity is. A unique way to look at something standard. Look how many times composers have created a set of variations. Almost every composer did that. Why. Because it is a creativity process seeing it in a new light. I am not defending my work. I do not profess to be a great composer by any means. I simply compose to express new ideas and to entertain. The fact that my compositions get people to talk about it is a good thing. It means people are responding to it. That is exactly what I like. A discussion.

The end chord progression reminds me of Chopin Waltz Op 64 no 2. Amazing job.

I still haven't completed all the songs that I have composed. So there is at least one more coming and it is a doozy I hope. My kids like it the best. But as I have found out everyone has his own taste. That is why it is good to play lots of pieces. And up next is an arrangement of mozart eine kleine nacht music. I know there are very nice ones out there but I am aiming for a very pianistic sound to the music. I have the first movement done and I hope to record it in the next 2 weeks or so. Thanks again for listening and commenting. It really helps me get feedback which pieces people like. All the best... Michael

Si nos vamos a precidos, entonces Franz Liszt en Liebestraum No 3 se copió de la fantasia Wanderer de Schubert, repito, los parecidos se encuentran porque manejan mismas tonalidades o sus menores o mayores.
