  • When is it appropriate for law enforcement to transport a patient? What does it really mean to get definitive care? Officers throwing a patient in a police car and driving to the hospital can be an option - but it can also be indicative of a system failure. While the intent may be to get them care quickly, the goal must be ensuring the patient’s survival. It’s not just about how fast they reach the hospital - it’s about getting trained resources to the patient’s side. The job of EMS is to manage patient care. In today’s podcast, our panel explore these topics and discuss law enforcement’s understanding of the role of EMS.
