I have worked in enough restaurants to know. I have seen a lot of employees do nasty shit to peoples food. Buy your own groceries and cook your own food. Employees do all kinds of nasty shit to your food a LOT more often than ya think. Way more often than anyone cares to know

How'd that work out for you though? If you already eat fast food regularly, I sincerely doubt you'll stop. It's easy to just write these incidents off as being rare, and in all likelihood your food is fine. These types of stories have been going around for decades, yet fast food is still popular.

No offense, but this is why A) I try to be polite as hell to retail workers and people who make my food (beyond it’s just the nice thing to do). And B) am afraid of ordering food like take out and restaurants.
The flight attendant was probably sick of stupidity and just decided to leave his job in the perfect golden moment.
I think food tampering should start yielding a much heftier sentence! What possesses people to contaminate food (especially unprompted). If you hate your job then get a new one, there are other minimum wage jobs that don’t involve you having to touch food or deal with the public.

When I was a manager over a course of 30 plus years there were several times I phoned Drs offices to check if employees were actually there and or were approved by "Drs note" for time off. More than a few were flat out lies!! Also I thought that was a good plot to do a sleep on the floor video. Maybe the airlines will step up their caring for their employees!!

Had something like this happen where I live. A guy was working a night shift at a 7-11 and he was so pissed off at his pay and having to work the graveyard shift that he told some homeless guys that were hanging out at the store to come inside and grab whatever you want, it's all free. The homeless men grabbed everything making a huge mess. Then when the morning assistant manager came in to work, the guy handed her the keys, told her what he did and told her that he quits. He was arrested several days later.

Speaking of employees being disgusting, I went to my local subway a few days back and found a employee who looked to be around thirty-ish giving “subtle” moves towards kids, or teenagers. Now, despite how I look, I’m no kid and definitely no teen, so with my knowledge of the uh, “Jared accident” I wanted to confront her, but as the blank slate of a Neutral Canadian stereotype, I didn’t but instead I notified my friend of the subtle hints to which he replied “ok. Well what do want me to do punch her? Let’s leave the brutalities to the authorities” and so we did. Dunno if she was caught but I did end up going out of my neutral grey zone and warning people and their children. Crap I revealed the gender. Oh wait, that doesn’t matter does it? Nah.

Why do Americans freak out when they dont get tips
Tips are a goodwill/kind gift thing not mandatory
Its a cultural thing, it isn't mandatory by law but basically a norm to do here. Specially if you live in a busy area if getting food delivered.
I've been told that oftentimes people employed in the food industry in the USA earn almost nothing and they need tips to make ends meet. If this is the case, I would put the blame on their greedy employers. This is a form of exploitation of labor, plain and simple.
Some waiters or others only get paid of tips that why 👍😃

Yeah Americans dont get paid very much in food service at all so tips help make ends meet and are needed to get decent pay to live essentially... the better service you give the better tip you should get and vice versa... it's very rude not to tip, I work in food service and it's a nightmare so tips make the day a little better

I am so glad we have great delivery people in South Africa. They never leave packages on the porch. If you are not home when they deliver something, they call you and reschedule delivery. They are always nice, and even chat with you for a few minutes. Even the ones that deliver your takeout are courteous.
My husband and I caught an AT&T service tech in our driveway taking “matters “into his own hand. He was reported to police and company. He was fired!

In Hong Kong, while eating my pizza I could see into the kitchen and watched two Pizza Hut employees sprinkle dandruff over pizzas, i promptly threw up my pizza and my husband did likewise.
I don't particularly agree with what these people did but what I will say is that for those of us in the front line, working for low pay with little support really can have a psychological effect on a person, people can feel used and unsupported and the stress can cause a person to act irrationally.
