They may not be a Christian band but one thing I can tell you is my son took me to one of their concerts. I agree. I liked creed. They had some really good music. I still listen to them to this day. I just feel it was just a trend to make fun of them and hate them and it just took off. But before that everyone was digging their music which was weird when all the hate started. I also find it a bit funny that the guys didn’t wanna be in a band like creed at first. But are now in a band that is very similar to creed in Altar Bridge lol they are also awesome to.
Nothing demonstrates the American dream better than faking being a wholesome Christian rock band while cheating on your wife amongst other depravities. Hail Jesus.
Most people that hate creed (I being one of those people) didn’t do much hate the music as by the time they came around, a lot of people were tired of that post grunge, Pearl Jam sounding vocals. It was mostly geared towards Scott’s singing style. I love mark tremonti. Incredible guitarist. Hate Scott’s vocals though.
Creed carried my dreams on their shoulders and they never knew. I grew up without a dad. Saw Creed live at the Fillmore in San Francisco years ago. The venue was small and it had an intimacy that you don't get from a stadium concert. The most impressive thing was Scott Stapp's ability to hold a note for a crazy long time. Not sure if he was using some kind of circular breathing technique, but it was amazing.

God calls us to do the work. Sometimes we do what's asked without realizing it. He took the inspiration and made the music, and it can't be unmade. The message still got out.
So right. He still got the message out there whether that was his lifestyle and beliefs or not. When God calls you to do something, you just can't run away. He will always have His way in the end.
This completely describes a lot of us who know the truth of The Gospel, yet are living for ourselves and the world. Respect for him to stand up for what's right, despite his struggles 💪
the songs have a christian message and it worked for me... @@thesausage351 they didn't want to be known as a Christian band because there's a stigma that goes along with it, and it would have probably kept them from going mainstream and being as successful as they were, unfortunately. You don't have to believe, and I know that you think you're too smart for that.... But you should stop berating those that do.
I love that at the end of the clip he said, “because I knew it was right” basically saying what we all feel at times. Even though we make mistakes, we’re trying to be better. As a Christian, this is a struggle I’ve familiarized myself with, but have become more and more aware of. That no matter how hard life can be, IT IS WORTH IT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT!

My Own Prison gave me the breakthrough i needed to go to rehab and get clean. Powerful stuff. I used to play it on repeat for hours Edit: it's the song that did it for me. I love the whole CD, but that song is what I put on repeat . I played it just because I liked the music and then one day I suddenly " got it" . That the drugs weren't the problem, I WAS THE PROBLEM . I had put my mind into a prison. That I was a bird in a bread cage
I work at a thrift shop and we use a local trash business that brings big compactor size bins and the owners are named Scott Stapp and Brad Stapp. We listen to 90s grunge in the warehouse and every time Creed comes on I think of the compactor guy.
When creed made my sacrifice it stuck with me as a kid. Higher helped me through some hard times as a teen. My own prison was definitely how I felt dealing with stupid relationships and all that. Their music changed my life
You have always been my favorite rock band. There is nothing wrong with being associated with God in a rock song. Whether Scott wants to admit it, his Christian upbringing comes through in all his lyrics. I just love how he keeps it clean(mostly). So many artists filling their music with filth these days. Even if they do not want to be thought of a Christian, many Christians love their music because it resonates with their personal struggles with sin and knowing there is still hope for them. I hope Creed always stays true to this.
They were on top of the world for about 3 years back in the year 1999 or 2000. They won a lot of awards and had several songs on the charts. @@codythompson759 If you need God to be a decent and adjusted person, a lack of a god isn't your problem nor is belief in one going to fix you. My OWN prison.
@@incogneeto9122Haha this is amazing😊
Imagine saying an album got u through life but not even knowing the name of the album lol.. especially when the hit single was also the name of the album 😅
@@jacky9961 could have been auto correct :)
One of my favs! Went thru my 20's screaming out your songs on the drive home 😊
Creed had a great sound and I was never ashamed to admit I liked their music although I did get a lot of shit for it.😂
They’re fucking terrible. Cliché, basic and cookie cutter mediocrity. Just my opinion. 😊
You are not alone bro ...😅😅😅😅
Higher is a certified banger and I’ll fight anyone who slanders it
Nothing to be ashamed of, creed is the shit. I can listen to any of their albums start to finish. They have a lot of excellent lyrics and there is more than religious intent.
One of the reasons i picked up bass in the first place was to learn to play illusion. Great band that took entirely too much bs.
Much respect to Scott and the whole band been listening to you guys for 25 years.

You sir are a great writer and I believed anyone would say the same
Dude, like em or not 'with arms wide open' is still a classic. And always will be
Creed is in my all time favorites list. 🤙
With arms wide open is my favorite Creed song. It makes me think of my children and hits me right in the heart.
