Quick update on a few things I forgot to mention. The 42lb thrust trolling motor is fine for most people, but if you fish heavy cover/weeds, current, or go on long trips, you'll need to upgrade. I plan to upgrade to a 24V system, if space allows in the back, and at least 70lb thrust.
Regarding the storage hatches, I do leave them open to let them air out when in storage and not in use. (forgot to mention in the video)
Another note on the trailer: Man, the boat loads and unloads so easily. The trailer fits the boat perfectly. My wife, who has no boating experience has no issues loading and unloading the boat at the ramp. Very impressed.
Lastly, why didn't I get the BASS TRACKER Classic XL (same price) (16' 8'' - Average Package Weight 1705 lbs.)?? - for an avid bass fisherman, this is going to be the better option, it appears to have better and more useable storage, but both are budget fishing boat options and are not perfect by any means.
We went with the Deep V because my wife and I both like how high the sides of the boat are. We fish lakes with a lot of huge gators and we feel safer with the higher sides and more comfortable/stable in the deep V, plus my dad had a 90s deep V boat and it holds a ton of nostalgia for me, so this was the one for us.
