How do we know what people are thinking? 🤔 Do You feel that way based on your racism and your life experience? It's like spotting 2 pale skin guys and saying they're thinking of lynching those same 2 guys @ 0:32 or they'll soon be shooting up a school, mosque, synagogue or doing some other white terrorism. May or may not be true in both scenarios. We don't know what people are thinking is the point - and to act as though we do is scary. 🇺🇲 The projections are usually based on our own fears, bigotry, biases, etc.

The South Loop has historically seen these types of crimes.
Just because you build condos and rentals and allow colleges to gobble up property via eminent domain, doesn’t mean you’re automagically gonna have a safe neighborhood.
The safest it’s been since I’ve been alive was in the 2010’s.

@@ironaddicted I agree, I'm from Chicago, born in 51. To me, the Loop, State st., LaSalle st, etc were respected, safe places to be. No one lived downtown, til Marina City, 61. Now thousands do, with the crime that accompanies them I guess. It's a different culture now too

It's always been a lot of crime in the South Loop. I worked at 1130 S. Michigan from 1998 - 2013 and saw the gentrification of that neighborhood. Roosevelt & Wabash has always been a hotspot for all types of crimes especially at the gas station and El train station. It's not going to get any better. The gang in blue will tell them what they want to hear and give the residents a false sense of security.
No, it's a lot worst than it was back in the 90's, I remember downtown being so peaceful.. there is no comparison I think 24 years ago it was much better mayor Daley did a pretty good job with crime then..
