Nice car!! Question:: we're 70 and 71 LT-1 pistons identical in every aspect or did 71's had the domed piston removed for a flat top forged pistons!!... anyone???
Don't know if the piston dome was totally removed but both the heads and pistons were different for 71 to get that compression drop from 11 down to 9 to 1. The camshaft was also slightly different and this combined for a 40 hp loss.
I believe the 71 LT-1 used TRW L-2417F forged flat top pistons with a single valve relief. I had to replace some pistons back in the day and got them at my local GM parts counter. When I looked inside the pistons they were marked "TRW". I believe TRW was bought by Speed Pro but I'm not certain of that.
Amazing LT-1 Corvette. What a beauty. Creme of the crop, thanks!
Lovely old car, I too prefer the early chrome bumpers. One of the best I have seen.
Looks like Steel Cities Grey. Beautiful.
Actually looks like Nevada silver or pewter silver
What did it sell for?

@@thud9797 I thought that just replacing the 64cc heads to 76cc would drop the compression two points???? thanks bud!

@@MrMike-fm8bpAlways a $#%%%$ss in the comments. A selective one at that. Wouldn't dare say this about a camaro or a C2. Shows the mindset.
