2024 and I just seen this video. I bought one before seeing this. Great info. The manager at Guitar Center in Visalia, CA. told me that this is one of the best telecaster that he has played. He seen online that there were some still for purchase. We ordered it. Once it arrived, I got with some of my friends that are way better musicians. They loved everything about the squire. Your review and the info about where my guitar was made, gave me more confidence on the purchase because it was made at the Samick factory. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Just bought this guitar. Will arrive in a few days. Without telling who the major company is, after I finalized the order online within less than 5 minutes a rep called me and congratulated me on this purchase. And that I will not be disappointed. Thank you for your honest review. I was worried I made a bad choice but reassured now. I initially picked this up as a project piece.
Update nice guitar. Frets flush with board but does have high frets in various places on board. The front of my body on my guitar has looong cracks in the finish on the left and right side of the body. I contacted sweet water and talked to my sales rep sent him pictures and beings the guitar is warranty my rep said he would have the repair technician contact me and make arrangements to have guitar sent back. Well it's been over a week and I have had no contact back. Very disappointed but knowing as a luthier by trade I can fix these defects myself .

Just got one it's a samick and the finish all round is perfect. Jack input being the only problem.it kept coming unscrewed i replaced the washer with a star washer and its fixed the issue. Great video.
I had an Epiphone Sheraton from the samick factory. A ‘93 or ‘96. One of the best-feeling guitars I owned and always felt like a go-to. I’ll be looking into to one of these Teles. Really enjoyed your vid with Dirk at his shop too!
Yes mate I've had a Samick Sg. It's great. I now have a Samick Squire 40th it's absolute quality except the jack input which kept unscrewing. I replaced the washer with a star washer , it's now perfect. As for the neck pick up ,it's true to vintage I think. Happy playing.
I have one of these 40th Anniversary Squiers [please spell it correctly :)] switched out the pups for Tex Mex, Wilkinson bridge and tuners and Electrosocket input. Great player at a great price.
Just picked a brand new vintage Dakota Red 40th Squier Tele from ProAudioSource, marked as “used”, but was in fact brand new/never opened when it arrived via *free* FedEx ground for $299, plus tax! First tele, fantastic guitar. Thanks for such an informative vid!
I also have this axe and the neck pup seems muddy. By taking the neck pup out of the tone circuit it will brighten it up nicely without having to buy anything.

Have the same now, and it's really a fine Telecaster! Only the neck Pickup is not so good. I'll change it with Fender Noiseless Vintage PU's 🙂
