I have Marcum HD and brother has 7" eyoyo. My camera is far better but his screen is much easier to see in daylight. Inside hut it's a wash. That Marcum needs a matte screen. The gloss one makes seeing it in daylight darn near impossible. Found a Matt screen protector and waiting to try that and see if it works. The Marcum will also work with a external battery pack. I bring my Lithium jump pack unit and run the camera from it on a usb cable. Adds about 6 hours. Looking to build a external monitor for the marcum. Really wish they would put in a Oled screen or something from a cell phone as those are easy to see outside. Seems silly for a outdoor ice fishing device to have almost not consideration for glare.
Caught 2 white fish on 7 inch eyoyo camera on lake Simcoe near Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Lake Simcoe water is really clear so having the eyoyo really help. Much more fun. Marcum persuit is a lot easier to use but the price is to high for me. Either way best results is on a good sunny days. On cloudy days I use a flasher. eyoyo should try to add a flasher with the camera in one package.
The depth on the marcum works just fine if you use it properly. You need to turn it on before you put it in the water and let it stabalize. If you put it in the water first it's unreliable.
Good and fair evaluation. I bought the nine inch should. It was consistently 4-5 in top ten units and again consistently beat Aquaview . Price was a concern.
I had a aqua vu mopod but it died quickly. Cut slot in a frisbee and slid cord through slot then attached a small clamp to hold depth and turn direction.
i was gifted an eyoyo 7” non dvr and it’s alright. nothing to brag home about but it’s just to cumbersome for me to use often. to many plugs and to much wires and the case flips back drives me nuts and there is no way to mount it to a tripod to keep it up high off the ice/slush. great camera for the price but i just never want to deal with setting it up or drying it out. i’d rather fish then be in a tangled mess
Noticed that the on the side of the Marcum beside the ports that there is like seam or crack. Is that a crack or is that like a normal seam found on this product? Just curious. Thank you for the great quality review.
You said you use your fish finder in conjunction with the camera. Do you them at the same time? How far away is the fish finder from the camera? Do you have some interference ?
Yes I use them at the same time. I try to put the camera 1.5' from the lure. I don't have issues with interference on my Panoptix I do with traditional sonar.
You seem to fish outside a lot. Does the Marcum Pursuit screen show bright enough to see decently when it's sunny and you're fishing outside in the open? I like to sit out too, but have heard some complain about lack of brightness in sunshine. Thanks and keep up the fun and educational vids and adventures.
@@spiltmilt Thanks for the feedback. I can figure out a screen for when it's sunny. Would you say it's best bang for the buck on image quality, size of unit, battery capacity, and camera head adjuster? I'm looking at getting the HDL with the new camera adjuster style. Thanks again and keep your fine vids coming.
Hey! Still undecided, can you tell me the depths for the last couple of videos? And was the ice clear or covered in snow for those last couple as well?
Hello sir, is this Patterson lake..? I plan on going there on New Year day to do some crappie/perch fishing (after I watched your video of crappie fishing at Patterson :). Not sure if ice will be good then.
I had the eyoyo camera and used it one time attached to a crab pot. It never worked after that. I think maybe the wire may have got damaged inside although nothing was visible. I threw out the whole camera. Now Im thinking I probably could of just got a new wire and lens? Oops!
Your going to ruin your marcum camera putting that hard of a bend coming right out of the back of the camera. Thats why you have a white curly piece of plastic on the cable it prevents this if its put in the proper location
Own both...my picture with eyoyo is much better than you got with yours (i have the same one)...and the eyoyo is still going strong...my marcum crapped out after a year and a half of use...and in Canada the marcum is $250 more...so the million dollar question...is the marcum worth $250 more??? I say no way...after 2 years of hard use eyoyo still going strong and my experience with the marcum has not been good...would not buy another... Great review though...always enjoy your vids... I have the eyoyo 7" and my camera is way clearer then that. I fish dirty and clear water. you have to adjust the settings. I can see fish and identify them at least 4ft away. this review is trying to sell you on the Marcum that costs 5 times that of the eyoyo. I never use the led/infared lights.
@MRV I agree. It works fine after a few uses but the camera leaks and fogs up. The thinner cable also would have issues later and plugging and unplugging cables while reeling wet water cables lines up everytime is annoying.
Eyoyo cheap chinese units are bad quality. Went through two which died and water gets into the camera. Also when its cold, you dont want have time to mess with the wonky wires and hand reeling wire.
@@spiltmiltif the marcum panner gets wet it will ruin it. Its not water proof. The aqua view panner sits up out of the water and doesn't have the same problems.
It is hard to keep the wire in the slot. It kept sliding out and you spend more time trying to keep the camera just off the bottom than seeing. When it is working, it’s great but I found it less frustrating manually spinning the cord.
I would highly highly recommend staying away from the cheap chinese cameras. You literally get what you pay for with these things. If you want to buy a pricey paperweight, go for it, but you will end up buying a decent name brand camera after that one with no warranty fries.
@@spiltmilt it probably works ok now but the quality of all the components are obviously very cheap. The case itself is the same cases they used for cheap makeup totes in the late 90's. Corners were cut dude. Let me know how the resale value of that camera is in 2 years. Lol. Cheap Chinese quality. Indisputable.

Brilliant, thanks. Better than a tupperware - love the frisbee idea!
The option to know temp at depth would be great for downrigging lake trout. Multi purpose.

Thanks for that review..I was looking at those cameras for a while.
Good review man. Not a bunch of nonsense like others. Good comparisons

Another great review
Someone bought me the aquavu planner for Christmas, now I have to buy a freaking underwater camera hahaha
Great review man!
My 9" Eyoyo picture quality is better than Marcum or aqua-vu.
I would love to see a comparison with the aqua vu
Moocor way better than aqua View or ayo yo detail is awesome on moocor cost $150.00
Is there any cam for night fishing on sea
Do you know anything about the moocor 720p camera in comparison to the eyoyo 720p
I don’t have any experience with it. Sorry

Snow covered ice. All of this was filmed in less than 30' of water. Under 10' provides the best color.

Does the China camera have video out I heard you say the marcum did but you didn’t say anything about the China rig
It does have a video out cord that could be plugged into another screen but unless you used a splitter the 7" wouldn't work then.

maggots or worms
