- Kate Beckinsale visits to discuss her role as Selene in “Underworld: Blood Wars.” The movie follows Selene, a Vampire death dealer, as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. “Underworld: Blood Wars” is the franchise’s fifth installment and comes out in 3D on January 6.

She's such an underrated actress. She's obviously beautiful and hasn't aged in the last two decades, but she also has a great amount of intelligence, wit, and humor. She's the whole package.
She proved to us she can act in many other movies, but no matter how good the actor is the poorly written script and directing can't be saved. She truly is the highlight of these movies.
Yes, she does a film like 'Love & Friendship' which receives wide critical acclaim, for both the script and for her performance, but then she does these sequels to 'Underworld', which are not exactly great pieces of art. I assume that she enjoys doing it, playing a strong female role (indeed, one of the first heroines in a franchise's lead role) and the physical nature of it -- and, of course, the money. I enjoy the 'Underworld' series as a guilty pleasure, but I do wish to see her in more roles that show her talent.

Yep, it's her British sense of humor. They love deadpan expressions when making a joke.
I love Kate in the Underworld movies. I don't think anyone could play Selene better than her. She plays her so beautifully.
I love the Underworld franchise and I adore Kate Beckinsale. She's a lovely woman who's brassy, graceful and full of class.
BTW I saw "Blood Wars" today and it is the best movie to date. So refreshing from superhero movies I really needed a break from them. It's nice to see an original movie concept still going strong and remaining fresh. There was a lot of love put into this movie.
Kate is so many things: Beautiful, an amazing actress who's very underrated, down to earth, great sense of humor (great prankster), elegant. I mean, I could just melt in my chair when I see and especially hear her speak. I don't know how she does it but she sounds beautiful when she speaks with that lovely British accent. I both respect her and absolutely adore her! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️

"obviously Ripley, and Linda Hamilton". It's kickass she pointed out those two major female sci fi women. That she's become part of that legacy they established in the genre is also, pretty kickass. That's 3 actors you can really respect in genre that's mostly a bit of fun, but can be elevated to greatness through great stories and performances. Always interesting watching her share her views and experiences because she's a smart cookie.

I felt that Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was the best movie of the series..and then they had to go down hill with Awakening. And unfortunately..Blood Wars looks like it is going to be like Awakening. They desperately need to bring Raze or Lucian back somehow. Okay..maybe they can't bring Lucian back..but they could totally bring Raze back. He is said to have died in the first move..but we didn't actually see his body, so they could have said that was another werewolf that Victor killed.

I love Kate Beckinsale and the Underworld movies are class. Not for me the syrup vampire s...t that is Twilight. I like vampires that BITE. The cast of the Underworld movies is class...Bill Nighy, Charles Dance...great actors. I loved the Nordic vampires in this movie and Selenes new powers rock. Always loved her confidence and one liners/put downs too. I give it 8 out of 10. Very enjoyable.
but the story was a total fuck up and alot of stuff not explained and the CGI Lykans urgh

Yep, incredible. It's a combination of good genes and a highly disciplined lifestyle. In the recent issue of Shape magazine, she talks about her intense workouts. She also doesn't drink alcohol.
Yes, she has likely had some surgery, several years ago, with her nose and teeth. But, especially compared to other celebrities, this is rather mild, and it doesn't account for why she looks so young now.

People always say things like this: 'It's about time we saw a strong female lead in an action film,' but there has been loads already. Google it - lists have been made.
Edit: Glad to see she goes on to mention Ripley later in the session.

If that's true then I don't why they keep making them if everyone knows that there're going to be complete shit.
Maybe there is a fan base that actually likes the Underworld franchise? I have seen all of the films with the exception of "Blood Wars". Though I do plan on seeing it in the near future if possible. I just find the character, Selene very interesting. Besides being portrayed by the very sexy Kate Beckinsale. The "Twilight" movie franchise was more focused on a love relationship and was most likely intended for younger audiences, the Underworld series seems to have a much darker tone. I am not saying that the "Twilight" series was awful, it was entertaining and I enjoyed some aspects of them. I just think that the Underworld captures the tone nicely and I am interested where the story takes me.
