This month I have 7 doctor appointments, I had to take my mom to 2 doctor appointments and I have had 3 tee times for golf, plus 2 lunch dates.
I haven't gotten a single date or time confused, thus (so far) I've showed up for every single appointment or tee time, early.
And none of these appointments could cause me to be placed in jail and take away my freedom.
    It's called personal responsibility!

She's enabling him cuz she lost one son already . Her guilt has taken over the loss & shes overcompensating with this son & he's taking full advantage of the situation. She's gonna lose both sons if she doesn't get grief counseling soon.

Holy Moly Mike! This is a message that needs to resonate across this country because 75% of the social issues that she's mentioned all happen due to parents trying to be buddies to their children ! Good on her for bringing this to his mom's attention ! His mom needs to be his parent & teach him some life skills before he becomes a parent because he's clueless in this regard !
Judge Manning is an Angel in disguise ! So, Happy birthday Judge Manning & thank you for caring about this young man's future!

I love that the mother is saying ‘the gps is causing a lot of problems’ when the one it’s on is the one causing the problems. Knowing he had a court hearing and purposefully violating the terms of a probation, or whatever the terms were he wasn’t supposed to use period. He earned that GPS monitor and all of the consequences that go along with it.

Happy Birthday, Judge Manning! I hope your wife gives you the opportunity to speak at home, on your birthday. As someone who did a fair amount of public defense work out of law school my advice to anyone who I represented who had a protective order that was amended, "Until you have the amended order in your hands it isn't amended. An order amending it may not have been immediately provided to the judge for their signature or what you understood could be different than what is put on the order. If you go about your life like it's amended, before you have a copy, there is a possibility that you will be arrested for a violation. Don't put yourself in that situation. Once you have it in your hands, make sure you understand the restrictions, and keep a copy with you so you have proof for police if you are stopped and they can verify that order."

Why are all the defendants wearing masks ? Past this; I love the way the Mom responds re: what her son does all day. "The normal. Sleeps." Uh, wowza.... That's the normal ? What about working a FT job, while going to school at night, etc. What happened to those options ?

This mother just does not get it.
My husband and I raised our son with virtues: honor, integrity, compassion, humor, curiosity, duty, family bonds and so on.
The hardest thing, I think my husband and I as parents have to do, is to step back at times and let him let him "fall".
Because the reality is, some day, my husband and I won't be there for him.

Happy birthday, Judge Manning! And thank god for firm judges like Judge Boyd. It's gratifying that there are a few people left who seem to be sick and tired of the cultural and societal rot. That spineless jellyfish "mom" is one of those who are more concerned about being his friend than his parent.

It may be different, since I live in a state where medicinal & recreational Mary Jane is legal, but most employers here don't care if you do it, as long as you aren't under the influence at work. The test the Judge gave him detects it for 30+ days after ingestion. The effect go away, generally, in 2-8 hours, depending on the person, the amount injested, and the type of product/method of injestion (like edibles vs smoking, etc)

Here we go, thank you Your Honor. This is the first time of watching Your Honor. It is my personal opinion that you will have a very long and successful career as a Judge.
I am 74 yr old I have been assaulted with a knife, robbed, after my hospital release I had to to have 4 eye surgeries under general . Before forget, I gave this guy a free ride because it was cold out and I felt sorry for him. A couple of days later he comes back to give me some tools. I told I did not want him them. He smashed my door open and I was put down like a mad dog.
I can only hope that who ever comes in front of Your Honor learns that we only pass this way once.
They never caught him, I have some rough nights.
Maintaining Respect is what is needed..
    Bob
    I can hope that you

Judge Boyd is right. It's a rare thing for a bad child to come out of a nurturing environment, so all of these parents with dependents that are constantly in trouble really need to understand that their parenting techniques are lacking. I love how she laid down the hand smacking on the son and the mother!
