Myra was THE top dog. Bea may have been tougher. Lou may have got her way more often. Sandy may have been craftier. But Myra cared more than any of them.
This is being repeated on foxtel australia ( along with the new reboot Wentworth) I missed myra's death scene 30 years ago and again the other evening Thank you to whomever uploaded this. Now i understand some plot points. BTW Foxtel Australia"wentworth" is the reboot of prisoner and it IS HOT
Well I've almost finished Prisoner with just 30 episodes to go. Episode 552 was the most dramatic. It went downhill for sometime when Maria died. The best top dog of all.
This episode is coming up and now that I have seen all of Myra's episodes and I will say that Myra was a great Top Dog, a good successor to Bea and good for the women, however, she was way too lenient on Frank Burke. Can't wait for Episode 585, the hottie Rita comes in.
Jay West Yeah, I like Myra and then Bea before Rita as frigging top dog. I'm dreading having to watch that era as it's not the same as the rest of the show without other familiar inmates mingling amongst the characters of that time. The staff still being there and the extras still being there doesn't make up for it, I'm afraid.
Everyone always makes fun of the Nora "Help me" line. I don't think there was a problem with the way she delivered the line. If she had said it in a non distraught or calm way, then I'd have a problem.
You can just imagine the sort of rough ride at Blackmoor Ruth Ballinger must have gotten. She would have been given a long sentence but yet when Rita is sent to the black hole Ballinger is no where to be seen ?
Yeah, he was super menacing in Home and Away as Barlow and he was younger than he looked (the crew cut/tache/general build added 10yrs to his appearance)
Jay West And I don't think they ever did do a storyline like this either, did they? 😃 Prisoner for the win. 😊😃 I like how there are many more characters and storylines to choose from and enjoy. Sometimes there are even other little bits here and there that may not be part of any plot, but can be likeable and watchable, and that it can be cosy and warm at times, which is what some original fans liked of it when it was aired on ITV and Channel 5. 😊😃
@@Summer21. Wentworth is way better and the acting is way better then this crap. And they actually showed Bea dying. Alot of top dogs died and every season someone dies.
@@asmramazing2283 You're a troll. This show was made in the 80s so the acting is obviously gonna be different. There would be no Wentworth without Prisoner. Go troll somewhere else.
I'll be watching Myra's episodes for the first time soon (I saw up to episode 400 and a few sporadic episodes after it five years ago and picked up watching again around the time of Ruth Ballinger's arrival and the awful Barnhurst 5 era and up to 692). So, I'll be able to judge her character better, from what I saw when I picked up watching it again, she was a pathetic replacement for Bea, hopefully my opinion will change this time around.
Pokémon Trainer Elio yeah.dont get me wrong.Anne Phelan did her best with an otherwise boring character in Myra Desmond.Yeah she was supposed to be a replacement for Bea but she just couldn't stack up to the strength and depth of the character of Bea Smith. -just a poor imitation.
Yeah, no she wasn't. She was as dynamic a character as any, and had some awesome storylines throughout her run. Some of the best by Prisoner standards actually.
Pokémon Trainer Elio Loved Myra. She wasn't a pathetic excuse as a replacement at all. The producers tried to kinda mold her into another Bea, but Anne Phelan made the character of Myra her own. In some ways, Myra was actually a better character than Bea.
Up to Episode 500 now and I don't know why I called Myra pathetic, she is a good top dog so far, I'll have to see what made me call her pathetic in the coming weeks.
R.I.P anne phelan she died 75 year old on Monday morning 28/10/2019 we all miss you
Myra was my favorite TOPDOG after Bea. Myra was not as upfront as Bea, regarding bashings but she was loyal and accepted her role responsibly.
Susan Kennedy crawling through a vent.... never thought I'd see that!😨
i was watching this at about 10 years old now, in my 40's loving reliving the old members and the new ones i don't see. h i miss bea the most
auntytink I miss Myra bea and Liz :(
Myra was THE top dog. Bea may have been tougher. Lou may have got her way more often. Sandy may have been craftier. But Myra cared more than any of them.
Myra shouldn't have died she was loyal and she inspired me she saved all her freinds and gave her life for them
I'm still shook 20+ years on
getting quite close to 40 years
Those are the quietest assault rifles I've ever... barely heard:).
A lot of people rag on Sonja Tallis for the "help me" line, but I honestly think this was her best acting in the show.

Myra is my all time favorite R.I.P Myra D:
She was alright. Bea was the perfect top dog. Her and Joan were the best rivals. Nola Makenzi was a great character to.

London Underground SHR & Retro Yes, Myra was one of the best top dogs of the series most definitely. 😃
Bea Smith 4 life son...
Myra, NOT Maria
No MYRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know :'(
You're a wizard Harry!

Pokémon Trainer Elio I prefer Bea and Myra to Rita.

jammyjammer2015 Yes, I agree with your comment. 😃
One of the best storylines in television history. Not sure if Wentworth could ever top this, and I love the remake of Prisoner.
What the hell is going on here? I'm not up to this yet but it came up so I couldn't help to click on it. Poor Mayra. Who are these army men ? Crazy
One of the best stories on television ever is what it is.
Australian drama at it's best.
You can just imagine the sort of rough ride at Blackmoor Ruth Ballinger must have gotten. She would have been given a long sentence but yet when Rita is sent to the black hole Ballinger is no where to be seen ?
Neither was Marie Winter and whoever else was supposed to be there. Maybe they were supposed to be in isolation.
Did they ever catch Marie after her skyward escape? 😅 🚁
A very sad 😥 ending 😢
She should have chosen one of the extras, i mean whos cares about them right? haha
lou Kelly was the obvious choice
Markyboy28 The Fat old Granny
Anyone of the Barnhurst 5. They were useless, Daphne was okay though.
Pokémon Trainer Elio I actually favored Nora out of all of the Barnhurst 5, and then maybe Chookie. Could leave the rest though.
Nora. She was a terrible top dog, she was way too liberal. She would have been good as a voice of reason.
Why would Lexie insult them when they enter the room? Did she want to be shot?
Because she's a dumb, mouthy idiot.
Thanks for the spoiler in the title. Some of us haven't got that far yet.
Well what do you expect? It's the main part of the video.
Story lines now more realistic and better love wentworth
curt wall Me too. 😊😃
Wentworth wasn't anymore realistic when they did thus storyline lol.
Susan Kennedy :D
Woman in blue dress was in Malcolm film
Jeff Truman would have been GREAT as Ram. He looked so threatening.
Yeah, he was super menacing in Home and Away as Barlow and he was younger than he looked (the crew cut/tache/general build added 10yrs to his appearance)
Who's more threatening than an actual monster in real life.
It’s Deirde Chambers, what a coincidence
Wouldnt happen in a real prison hostage scene more security guards
Ferguson and Joyce were there but Meg and Dennis were at home lol.
It's wentworth, that's all I'm gonna say 🤣
Why didn't Ruth say Lexie lol?
this is not assasins creed?
kudurrumaqlu LOL nah but it's still good. A classic.
Wat was the reason behind myras death
The actress wanted a pay rise. You can guess what Grundy’s reply was!
it's wentworth now
If Wentworth ever manages to surpass this storyline I'd be shocked. So far, they've not accomplished it.
Jay West And I don't think they ever did do a storyline like this either, did they? 😃
Prisoner for the win. 😊😃

My God!! Nora would rot anyone’s brain. The MOST boring bastard ever to waste so much time in Prisoner
Good riddance. Couldn't stand myra. She was so boring!
