I watched the UK version and was pleasantly surprised to hear Miyamoto san’s voice. Why does NoA do voiceover for foreign languages? Hearing the original person’s words have more impact to me.

What's wrong with that? I prefer having voice overs. What's wrong with wanting to hear in your native language? This is the same reason I won't watch Sakurai's videos. English subs are great but if it's a long video, I wanna hear it in English.
@@sirmel11 I don't think there's anything wrong with voice overs in general. Sometimes the NoA voices feel a bit robotic to me, but to each their own.
US audiences aren't used to hear anything but English.

The Mario Kart scene at the end was so cool!
Gathering from the trailer it seems Peach is not going to be the classic Princess damsel in distress... but we have to save Luigi this time
It's very rare for me to be really excited to see a movie, since i dont watch much tv and hardly watch movies, although i have been slowly watching more movies.
When i saw the teaser in theatres when family went to see black adam, i saw there with a big grin on my face, taking it all in and fanboying on the inside.
But THIS TRAILER takes it to a whole new level and is gorgeous! WOW!
Im even more excited to see this movie in April.
It seems like the Princess will be the hero in this move and I'm okay with that

Chris Pratt continuous to be the weakest part of this movie, everything else looks to be great
Don’t think he is in any way worse than the other characters. None of the characters sound like their in game counterparts. They also have different designs. I really like it.
If you get what I mean, Chris Pratts voice is just "okay" but not enough to bother the experience of the movie, also considering the fact that everything else is great

@@sup3414 No, not really, but I, at least, would've wanted someone who sounded a bit more upbeat, like he was having fun with it. I mean, c'mon. This is MARIO. The savior and grandfather of a lot of aspects of modern gaming. Getting to play him in a movie is historic. If it were me, I couldn't promise I would sound like Mario, but I would make my "Wahoo"'s sound more like a "Wahoo!" instead of a "Wahoo..."
Imagine waking up every morning, being bothered by Chris Pratts voice, and thinking youre cool or right in any way shape or form lol

To be honest, the fact that you genuinely thought that was Charles Martinet makes me think Chris Pratt's Mario is not quite as phoned in as everyone thinks it is.
While it wasn't Charles, it definitely doesn't match up with the other voices Chris was doing.
Considering that scene is probably at the end of the movie, maybe Mario slowly gets a voice that's more accurate to the games throughout the movie

I like this version of Princess Peach because she looks more of a warrior princess than an old fashion helpless damsel in distress princess from the past Super Mario World Games and I do like her voice because she sound a lot better than her old voice from the games.
Trailer was really strong, almost everything you could ask for in a Mario movie... way more platforming than I expected... and of course Mario Karts were gonna be there. Like Peach's voice actually. Chris' Mario voice continues to pull me out of this movie/world... but the visual design of Mario is bothering me less and less the more I see it

@@raskolnikov6443 to be fair, Jack sounds almost identical to the sunshine version, but thats it. None of the cast sounds like their og counterparts, so dont understand the ops problem with mario sounding different
@@Guy_0306 I don't think his voice will grow on me... it's just too... Chris Pratty with no energy or enthusiasm... and worse when he tries to do the Mario-isms catchphrases, they sound awful

This trailer looked AMAZING! I am now very excited for the movie. It looks huge in scale! I find myself hoping there will be big game launches at the same time and season - maybe even hardware! The hype is real. 😅
LMAO... I didn't get to watch live with you guys, so I'm sitting here listening to the VOD version... I hear the opening to the Nintendo Direct jingle and suddenly it's "hey guys, Ryan Reynolds here.." and I had to do a double take because I didn't remember the voice of Pikachu being in the original direct.

Although it was blocked mid-stream, here we can see the stream properly without interruption
If Donkey Kong and Cranky Kong can talk in the movie, Yoshi should be able to as well.
In fact, in the games, Yoshi is able to speak English!! Even though most Yoshis can't, THE Yoshi himself can.
Meanwhile Donkey Kong and all his friends speak in their Kong language and shouldn't be able to communicate with Mario.
I do think they might make Yoshi silent for the movie though.
This is definitely an isekai! This explains why mario doesn't sound like everyone expects him to sound
The movie is based on the games, so it's kinda redundant to make a game based on the movie. And it would just be a mess too since the movie tackles multiple Mario franchises, you'd end up with a game with a bit of platforming, a bit of go karting, etc.; basically, it would be all over the place.
I liked it a lot! I hope that DK's look in this doesn't influence future games, though.

I think it looks awesome. I like Chris Pratt, so I really don't mind him being in it. I've not seen anything of this movie that I'm not looking forward to so far.

I think people are being too fickle. You think an American guy is going to have a crazy, high pitched, Italian accent? He needs to sound like he came from the real world of New York. He will do the high pitched yells and oof’s when he masters the mechanics of the Mario we all know.
So people living in Brooklyn cant have a Italian accent or what

I know that alot of people hate Chris Pratt as Mario but I actually think that the voice is very good it's not fantastic but it's growing on me in the first trailer I was like "it's fine" but after seeing thus trailer I actually quite like the voice. Can't wait to see thus movie when it comes out! Also Jack Black as Bowser is awsome!

This is the Super Mario BROS movie. Luigi should be there next to Mario all of the way!
Peach can still be confident and fight for her kingdom even if she is kidnapped! We've seen that before and that really highlights the personality Peach actually does have in the games. Peach may get captured, but many times she is able to try to escape on her own, or at least use her smarts to help Mario in some way.
I love the idea of Peach tagging along with Mario, and I think it's for the best she wasn't kidnapped. But I wish Luigi was there too. It's not gonna ruin the movie for me, but I don't think Luigi needed to suffer just because Peach needed to show off how cool and epic she is.
They all could've traveled together. I'd hope at some point in the movie, Luigi ends up teaming up with someone else so that it's not just him trying to get away from Bowser the whole time. Maybe he ends up being the one to meet Yoshi?? Or maybe he meets Daisy or Wario in another kingdom. That would be sick!

Chris Pratt sang a ton on Parks and Recreation - his character (Andy Dwyer) was in a band called Mouse Rat. So we have confirmation that Mario and Peach could both sing! All of Mouse Rat's song are on UA-cam!
From what I've read up, Anya-Taylor Joy was born in Florida, then grew up in Argentina til she was about 6 then moved to and was educated in England. And I believe she had both UK and US nationalitiy.
I definitely do not think they are making a Mario: The Movie: The Game. They might have the next 3D Mario game release around the same time for that synergy (and I agree it would be a missed opportunity not to), but I think it would kind of cheapen both products to try to create a game based on the movie, and that doesn't jive with Nintendo's philosophy in my opinion. The games are made to be great games and every decision made during development is to that end. Similarly, the movies are made to be great movies (hopefully), and those will require pretty divergent approaches. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty confident they aren't interested in hamstringing a major Mario game like that.
I've had a dream/nightmare where michael cera was announced as yoshi's voice. At this point I'm bracing myself for it to become a reality
Please we all know that Chris Pratt's introducing video in the last trailer was not the best, but we don't have to constantly repeat it an make fun of him, he is just a human, so please chill.

That _"Wahoo!"_ sounded so wrong and out of place.
I don't think it will be a musical film but with Jack Black, Anya, Keegan and others we could get a through the credits musical performance. Illumination has done this before and plenty of other animated franchises do it.
Chris Pratt really doesn't give any effort. Even with the Cheep-Cheep on Mario's face, his voice sounds exactly like without a fish covering his face (17:51). Which is really weird for me. But all other voices, especially Bowser, Peach and Luigi are just perfect.
I've tried to keep an open mind with Chris Pratt but even if he sounded like Mario it's lacking energy. Even that "Wahoo!" at the end sounded bored.
