Just noticed how small this comment section is. Thank you guys so much for your commentary each week! I just recently started working as a delivery driver, and while music can be great, it doesn't always take you far when it repeats. I decided to try out podcasts and you guys have definitely helped me get through some shifts throughout these past couple of weeks. It's been cool to listen in and hear about you guy's work experiences as well as your personal opinions on current and older video games! Keep up the good work and have fun in Japan! ❤ Can't wait to finish AstroBot myself, listening in has also encouraged me to purchase it and it's been a wonderful experience! :)
I’ve been to NCL, and I understand why someone said it was a rougher part of town , though I agree it’s an overblown feeling. That part of Kyoto looks like a Detroit, like a failing American city. It’s much more car-centric (there’s even a double drive thru McDonalds behind the building lol). And all the buildings look ruined and rusted like an abandon Japanese seaside town, but you remember it’s Kyoto. There are lots of gas stations around the neighborhood, and a Porsche dealer (prob because of Nintendo). Intelligent Systems is like a block or two to the west of them too. Weird vibe over there than what you think of with Kyoto.
These are facts. Every time somebody tells me it's a 'bad part of town' when I'm over there exploring, I laugh because the worst thing I see is a single homeless person who is still more respectful than the average person here in America. I definitely did go to some places where there were an abundance of tattooed people, who I assume were mostly Yakuza but again, as long as you aren't disruptive you're fine. I never felt unsafe anywhere over there, and I've been to most places in the greater Tokyo area, Kyoto area, a lot of Osaka, Nagoya, Hiroshima and even as far south as Shunan.
@@Mithos05 I literally saw a Yakuza when walking around Kabukicho (the irl inspiration for Kamurocho in the Yakuza games). A man was harrassing a woman and the yakuza showed up and threatened his ass to let go. Was wild seeing one in person. Then when he turned to look at me, I noped the heck out of there lmao.
Regarding difficulty in Nintendo games, often times the most challenging aspects come after you beat the main game. A couple of Legend of Zelda games feature a master mode or hero mode. Mario games contain levels that can get spicy after you do the main stuff.
I live near Washington DC and we have a Cherry Blossom festival (and cherry blossom trees) all over (gifted from Japan)! We try to make a trip to see them in full bloom each year, and it does get crowded. I'm sure it's not as extravagant as Japan's though 😅
as someone that used to work for a big FAANG company owned buy an asian parent company its so fascinating to hear about what the internal workings and offices of Nintendo are like. I've always been fascinated by the differences In work culture between East vs. West, and even the differences in Korean, Japanese, Chinese work cultures in tech and/or the gaming industry as whole.
In general I think the Monday filming schedule is a big problem for this podcast. A lot of gaming news happens on Tuesdays. Every episode feels way behind on the news due to this. I love the podcast though but a switch to filming on Tuesdays would be a vast improvement.
My favorite Capcom series is Breath of Fire, and I am still holding out for a return, or at minimum a remaster/port of 3 & 4 to modern Nintendo console. Again, like most times I ask for something like this, I personally do not need any QoL changes. Just getting the games would be more than enough for me. As far as your Japan/TGS trip, I am curious if you guys would be fortunate enough, assuming NDA of course, will get permission to see New Nintendo stuff. Obviously, you would not be able to vlog that. Hope you guys have a ton of fun. Thank you for the video.
I remember seeing your Nintendo tour. That was neat look even if ot was only the public areas. Something that I have been curious about for a long time is how do you feel about Nintendo Minute compared to the Greg and Alison days from the Wii and DS.
Happy Japan trip you two!!! Loved the story today and hearing about inside Nintendo of Japan! Hopefully you got asked to sit with someone cool in the cafeteria 😅. Have a great time away and cannot wait to see how Japan goes. 🎉
The irony about your Splatoon 3 disinterest is that I felt like Splatoon 2 was *really* the one that was too similar to the original, which Splatoon 3 seemed like a larger step forward *especially* for the campaign which had a new villain, unique story, more fun overworld, and thrilling ending sequence.
100% completed and got all the achievements for Astro’s Playroom and AstroBot. Loved Both. I was going to return the PS5 I bought for AstroBot but I lost the receipt.
What the heck kind of people did you have working at your office for lunch meetings? That's wild haha. I had lunch meetings once a week every week for the 6 years I worked at my previous company and people were always clean, respectful and mindful. I wonder if it's just the difference between a corporate job and a private company? My biggest issue was that we were asked to give up our break for the sake of, essentially, more work. The worst thing about that is it's totally illegal to do that in California, but so many do it anyway thanks to the way companies will passive-aggressively demean you for not participating. It's the worst. :(
I don't think I've ever seen a special edition of a gaming console get a numbered release like the 30th anniversary PS5 Pro, I hope this new trend catches on with Xbox and Nintendo.
With all the serum commercials on TV, Kit doesn’t know what it is? It’s a cosmetic liquid that you apply to your skin after cleaning it that is absorbed into the skin to hydrate it and minimize acne and other skin conditions. And they are advertised constantly.
Kit - I love Dead Rising, a cool tense game with a 72hr limit, made to be replayed! Also Kit - Majora's Mask is the worst Zelda game! Even Zelda 2 is better! I hate the 72hr time limit and how tense it is!
I will be staying at Kabukicho next weekend lets go out and beat thugs together!!! Lol Are you guys only doing the business day for tgs? I will be there on Saturday, if you're around it would be great to see you, if not have an amazing time in Japan! 🎉🎉
Finally someone talks about splatoon. Every month there was splatfest but no one acknowledge, and seems that is a very underrated game here in USA. Thinking about that is the only game that was getting new updates and not many people talk about it. So sad that is so underrated here in the USA.
This was an excellent story time you guys. 10/10!
🥳 Can't wait for all the new content the Japan trip will give us all.

Kit’s hair has never looked so great! You go Kit, finally reaching up to Krysta’s amazingness lmao
Here’s to a super fun Japan trip. (I’m sure the content you make from this is going to be great!)
For now though…podcast time. 😁
The phrasing of "we started bringing the dog" sounds like the entire staff shared one communal dog
PLEASE SHOW THE FOOD IN THE CONVENIENCE STORE.
There will be a lot of time in these vlogs dedicated to convenience stores!!

Wishing you both a great time in Japan! Someday, Japan, someday. Eventually, Krysta's iconic line with "TODAYYYYYYYY" will be on merch
The Devil Wears Prada "clacker" reference made me light up, haha! It's my favorite movie~
The worst street in Japan is safer than most streets in America lol.

@@ShallBePurified haha that's an appropriate reaction I'd say
Love the archive NM footage! Remember this ep.
Kit's hair lookin' fly. 💯
Bring back the Kit fade! 😂

Oh hey! I'll be in Japan for two weeks in a few days too! Gonna go to Kirby Cafe and I got tickets to Nintendo Museum's opening day, can't wait!
Have fun guys!!
You guys should do a mini Nintendo Museum tour if you're allowed to.😊❤
Can’t wait for the Japan vlogs!!
Some might not like that an entire amiibo shelf had the figures out of the box, but I like that they were open -- given that I do the same. 🤭
The Japanese bbq place outside the Kyoto offices is worth visiting :)

Very interesting storytime! Fly safely to Japan and enjoy your stay!! ✈
Excited to see your Japan vlogs. I'll be going to Japan for the first time in a month.
I love how badly timed the news hit. The literal day before you leave the Switch 2 leaks and Pokemon sues Palworld
Dud of an episode
Hardly a leak and the lawsuit isn't even a lawsuit yet.

I just beat Astro Bot over the weekend, easily GOTY and my fave Playstation game ever!

I just want at peak bloom for cherry blossoms this year actually and was shocked at how few foreigners there were.
Because it's beyond the price for most people.
OMG Kit giving us some sas at the begining, my heart stopped and I had to gasp for air haha.

Yeah, Splatoon 2 felt like they *had* to make a new one for a new console, while Splatoon 3 felt like it was packed with new ideas
OMAGA I remember you guys
Have fun in Japan. I wonder if you both got tickets to the Nintendo Museum???
100% completed and got all the achievements for Astro’s Playroom and AstroBot. Loved Both. I was going to return the PS5 I bought for AstroBot but I lost the receipt.
Okonomiyaki is delicious (though I don't recall having mayonnaise on it) when i had it.
The 7th floor sounds like complete Mr. Yamauchi and the subsequent presidents were just like “this will work…”
2:17:35 - I agree! Cappy is such a great mechanic in Super Mario Odyssey. I dunno what Nintendo can do to top that!
I know you're flying as I write this, so happy travels. I hope you've had a fun journey.

You need more recognition than you get honestly favorite people/channel. Still sad about the whole Nintendo 3Ds thing

I’m just wondering, do you think that $700 is going to be regular going forward for PS6?
This thumbnail makes sense now
Wait a minute... A 72 hour countdown, NPCs on their own independent schedules... Is Dead Rising the Majora's Mask of Zombie games? Lol
So odd that he likes Dead Rising but loathes Majora's!
I was told by somebody who lives in Japan that Taco Bell doesn't have Bean Burritos. Bummer. Hopefully that will change someday.
How does one listen to the Emio Spoilercast? I looked on Patreon and don’t see it on there.
i like the look of the retro ps5 as well. they just take to much real estate. if they were smaller.

Which episode is Krysta's worst moment after the interview with Kirishima lol
Episode 80, right here! ua-cam.com/video/275bmLjUMRk/v-deo.htmlsi=dJhDI8udIRrq0dyV
Emio - "the game lives and dies by its story"... figuratively and literally.

i think thats overclocking
They should just do a Super Mario Odyssey 2.
to have 3rd parties means 256gb might disappoint
Star Wars outlaws has been such a blast as a Star Wars fan, it really feels like you're in the SW world for the first time ever.
Great, another episode finally

lmao 36:50. Did not expect Krysta to say GTFO but that was so funny
The ps5 pro is purely ridiculous.
Wtf is Kit short for 😂

Pantyhose hahahaha
