I've had this conversation with people about showing incels empathy. I've even prefaced it with what if they don't hate women? They still respond with it's ok to hate them cause they're creepy or something like that. These people still claim to be empathetic people though. That is probably top 10 unselfaware arrogant videos I've seen from someone on the internet. The whole point of the advice from the older lady wasn't to make sure you never date a handsome man. It's more to make sure you aren't lowering your standards for him for superficial reasons. That's it. She read into that so hard and came up with well she's bitter. I've heard a lot worse recently about unattractive and low status males. From evolutionary psychologists, researchers, commentators and right wingers, not just feminists. As if they're not human beings deserving of rights, dignity or love. Suggestions to deal with them I have found to be disgusting and disturbing to be frank. I think you've lost your way on this one. Everyone wants to go out w/ someone they are attracted to. I still think women on the whole are not as into looks as men generally are. We tend to find men get more attractive when we're treated well. Of course not all the time. Most really good looking women go out w/ really good looking men, but not always. Just look around at couples. You pretty much don't see good looking men go out w/ average women. You do see some average looking men going w/ really pretty women though.

I remember I stopped listening to what women wanted and what pastors were teaching about dating and simply better myself, dressed better, hit up the gym better and saw a stark difference in attention. I was honestly hurt because; sure the Bible encouraged me to seek Wise Council, the churches were not teaching me wisdom to get a woman but instead, prayer, church participation and ultimately nothing particularly practical; apart from getting a career for the sake of family. That was more expected than taught. (I had my own other problems that kept me from dating but the visual aspect was one I had learned.) Wow, I can’t believe the day has actually come where I actually disagree with the point of one of your videos Zerse. As a devout Christian Catholic man myself, I typically always enjoy watching your videos and hearing your well thought out perspectives that I consistently agree with. However this video seems to have me split. Whether you like it or not, sexual/physical attraction is an extremely vital and quite natural component of the entire dynamic of your relationship/marriage. To oppose this very realistic God-given aspect of relationship dynamics for the sake of elevating some heightened streamlined “logical” conclusion about personality mattering more, is just flat out bad advise and a very unhealthy mentality to carry about attraction in general. I’ve tried watching this video more than once to give your perspective a chance for better understanding, but it just doesn’t make sense or rather doesn’t beat out the fundamentally concrete understanding in how one’s physical composition largely plays into a person’s overall persona in the first place. People are complex-life is complex. We have a nature that works within those complexities as a counterbalance. This is why it’s important to understand that physical outwards appearance and character are both important and they really play off of each other in profound ways that we can either help ourselves or not help ourselves. We tend to find men get more attractive when we're treated well. Of course not all the time. Most really good looking women go out w/ really good looking men, but not always. The problem is not women basing mens value on their physical attractiveness and vice versa. Humans have always done this. There are very real and important biologically ingrained reasons for why people evaluate partners on physical attractiveness among other things. Wow, I can’t believe the day has actually come where I actually disagree with the point of one of your videos Zerse. As a devout Christian Catholic man myself, I typically always enjoy watching your videos and hearing your well thought out perspectives that I consistently agree with. However this video seems to have me split.
Whether you like it or not, sexual/physical attraction is an extremely vital and quite natural component of the entire dynamic of your relationship/marriage. To oppose this very realistic God-given aspect of relationship dynamics for the sake of elevating some heightened streamlined “logical” conclusion about personality mattering more, is just flat out bad advise and a very unhealthy mentality to carry about attraction in general. I’ve tried watching this video more than once to give your perspective a chance for better understanding, but it just doesn’t make sense or rather doesn’t beat out the fundamentally concrete understanding in how one’s physical composition largely plays into a person’s overall persona in the first place. This is a truth of our nature that cannot and should not be ignored or stomped out by some single idea to unnaturally displace our value for supposed “niceness” over our physical attraction to our partner or potential spouse.
No one disagrees with "sexual attraction is needed for a relationship". We are saying their standards are too high.

However in my assessment, women’s general standards for the physical attraction of men is reasonable, expected, and manageable enough to live up to. If you as a man want to carry on the kind of attitude that women’s looks standards are too high for you to adjust to, than by all means go right ahead; but with all due respect, frankly, you will lose out big time and no one will care how much you cry about it. @@Owen-sx4jj I understand….However that point is very flawed and inconsistent because those specific variables are not the only outcomes that would make “character” the only dominant common denominator about a person. People are complex-life is complex. We have a nature that works within those complexities as a counterbalance. This is why it’s important to understand that physical outwards appearance and character are both important and they really play off of each other in profound ways that we can either help ourselves or not help ourselves. This very fundamental understanding plays directly into what natural attraction is all about and trying to fight against that is a perversive uphill battle you will never conquer.
Love the channel but maybe I'm not completely understanding either the video or your response. It seems to me that she was being pretty reasonable. She mentioned finding your spouse attractive not that they were a supermodel. She didnt say that character doesnt matter either. I think that is quite important that you actually desire your spouse. Marriage isnt just a friendship but also a sexual relationship that you're entering. Are you saying you would enter in to a relationship with a woman that you had no physical attraction to? Are other men in this comment section really saying that? In the real world, I just dont see only "chads and tyrones" with girlfriends. I see women with all different kinds of men and I see women finding all different kids of men attractive. But there are things that we men can do to make ourselves more attractive both physically and internally. I don't think that's bad advice. I dont think it's superficial to want to be with someone you find physically attractive. If she said, only be with model-esque men then yeah that would be superficial. But attractive? Remember she began the video by saying that if an unattractive man is otherwise a good person, you shouldn’t marry him nor take the advice of other women saying you should. Now he didn’t show the whole video, and she might be trying to make your point, but even with your point, as a Christian it’s still wrong for her. She even showed scripture.
If the moral of the story is that the true king is picked based on his character rather outward superficial appearance, how can a Christian make the argument she made at the beginning? Mind you for the vast majority of human history people didn’t marry for love so why in the modern era do we now focus so much on physical attractiveness?
The short answer is: A good person SHOULD be an attractive person. Not something mutually exclusive. XD
If the premise is "An attractive person over an other wise good person" then we've already messed up.
We also have to factor in, that for many modern women, being attractive is the top tier of men. Most men aren't serviceable. If they were, then she wouldn't even be asking the question. Women have a much more narrow view of what makes men attractive. So even if it isnt a "Super model", its not an average man. lol

If you'll engage with someone in absence of good character because they're hot, but you wont because their ugly...or unattractive, even though everything else is great, then in effect and action the answer is clear.
