- A hiring crisis at Pechanga Resort and Casino has the establishment offering big money to bring potential employees in.
Worked at Pechanga for 9yrs, was laid off last year, and they decided to not bring me back. This issue is something I pointed out to Hotel management 5yrs ago while I was trying to fight for fair pay in my department.
Dude same in my local casino. They let go of there loyal employees. And now no one wants to work for them

You sound like someone who worked or is still working there. You are absolutely right. Has nothing to do with not being being able to manage your money. Pechanga only pretends to care about their employees. What they failed to mention is many of the employees are quitting and going to where they are being treated better and where they are paid more.
i’m one of the three butchers there that supply the 10+ food outlets for pechanga so I’m a little salty that they’re willing to give bonuses for new kitchen staff while the rest of us that have been there for 5-10+ years get like a 15-20 cent raise a year.
People used to take jobs they didn’t like because of job security. That was the only perk that mattered, but if my employer has proven to be unreliable, then there’s no reason to go back. If the uncertainty is the same, I would rather pursue my dreams despite the risks and difficulties.

They need to pay more money, treat people well, listen to their employees for suggestions, ideas to have the employees feel valued. Reason why I left Pechanga a month ago. I was putting in 55-60 hour work weeks, being on call 24 hours on a flat salary making 39k and I was a Supervisor. This is the real reason why they can’t keep great employees at Pechanga.
San Manuel also took much better care of their team members after shutting down and again when reopening. None of this shuffling everyone into EVS for a measly $13/hr.

Yes. Hiring bonus but they give you crap pay. They also don't tell you that once a year you get maybe 20 cents if you are lucky if not it's 10 cents while the vp gets thousands.

Part time work doesn't cut it. My son was dealer for 4 years tired waiting for full time. Switch for different casino. They don't hired full time bcuz they don't want to paid for benefits. Casino to cheap.

In California income tax is too high it takes a big chunk from your pay. Other states have no income tax or low income tax it’s almost not worth working in California I moved out and im glad I can afford a house and have money to save for my vacations.

Damned straight to far. Lived there, too. Beach and Westminster, right by where the old Highway 39 Drive-In use to be. We later moved to Corona and my wife worked at Pachanga for 5 years even before the hotel was built.
Talked with my old boss recently at a retail store April 2021 they hired a guy who then cancelled his unemployment, 30 days later he was let go as corporate thought they didn't need him as business didn't pick up that month
At least he wasnt screwed like I was. Was hired for Ross back in June & the 1st week I was scheduled to work they decided to let me go. Never found out y I was let go but it pissed me off that they let me go b4 I even got the chance to start. Its ok though I work at Universal Studios now
Even at $18 an hour I struggle to pay rent pay more money you have the money pay people more or lower the rent it’s not worth working if I’m struggling to pay rent. If people hold out we can force them to pay more let’s make them pay more

@@Militantreturns It’s crap pay in Cali. Lived in other states where you can easily pay rent on $14/hr. Don’t have to live in the hood or a crappy area either. Out here, $50k a year is still considered low income.

Just tired of mgmt expecting me to train everyone, run the day to day, fix everything because they have no clue what's happening, but then act shocked and horrified when I campaign to increase wages accordingly for 10+yr veterans and Leads who are barely making more than new hires.
