I know an older person much faster it seems since professionals were shocked at how fast he went and coaches take note. It seems like all these events are people who are wiling to put up with the BS to need specific place, time, tools to test, money to travel, etc. Unlike weight lifting where everyone can do it anywhere any time with no special tools.
Obviously you have know the procedure, have finances, the backing of a professional, and willing to put on a show, etc. Real life is more impressive.
