Hey pilots! Tricker here and I want to welcome you to my channel on combat aviation. I’m a real world pilot in the Airbus 319/320/321 series and I enjoy DCS World, Falcon BMS, Falcon 4.0, IL-2 Sturmovik, X-plane 11, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
If you want to fly WWII aircraft over Normandy and the English Channel, then DCS World WWII is for you and they have plenty of aircraft to choose from such as the BF-109, FW-190, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt, and P-51 Mustang. If you enjoy modern aerial combat then you want to focus more on DCS World products such as the F-16, A-10C Warthog, AH-64D Apache, F-15, F-14, JF-17, SU-27, Mirage, Mig-29, F-18 Hornet, Mi-8, Mi-24 Hind, Uh-1 Huey, Ka-50, F-5, Mig-21, AV-8b Harrier, and the F-4 Phantom. Some of the mods that are out there for DCS World are the F-22 Raptor, SU-57, A-4 Skyhawk, Rafale, and Gripen.
I enjoy other games such as Total War, Battlefield, War Thunder, Escape from Tarkov, as well as Squad.

Thank you so much; will spend time in schooling on , I have a T.Flight Hotas X throttle &stick combo , can you put me on to setup for the 4.37.1 set up ? How to slew target on the MFD panel to set on target? I’m better with picture is worth a thousand words vs. trying to read it. Thank you again (Palidan) Have Gun Will Travel!
Okay, I will be watching this short for a week to get all the controls mapped.
Just buy a Thrustmaster warthog, everything comes premapped cause it’s pretty much the same in the cockpit
@@hoverbike and itll cost me only half a week salary….
@@HOTSHTMAN53 at 20$/hour
@@HOTSHTMAN53 idk man i bought mine for 170$ used, and it came with all the upgrades. Sanded down gimbal, silicone grease, etc. It’s an absolutely lovely piece of kit. Once I replace the gimbal of the stick with a Virpil base, due to Hall effect sensors already being present in the throttle, it should outlast me. I bet I’ll be dead and it’ll still work. Thing is as solid as a brick wall. I love it, and for 170$ it was an absolute steal.
@@hoverbike That's a sweet deal. I was looking for a Warthog set but everything I found was $375+. And I couldn't find it new under $500. I ended up saying fuck it and got the WinWing Orion2 with the 15EX II grips and the 16EX stick all for $491 shipped. I thought it would take a few weeks to arrive, but I had it in 5 days. Now I just need some rudder pedals because the z axis attachment for the stick was out of stock.
Don't forget to turn your 65s off so the battery doesn't die on the missles and don't forget to turn them back on before you need them!
Great tip, just not simulated in DCS
@@TrickerDCSyet 😏
Doesnt that reset the boresight?
@@jefe142 not in BMS good question though, although if the batteries die it doesn't really matter lol
This is why i like the Mig-19. No super complicated systems just like 7 buttons and the soul of fighter pilots past to guide you
except for the part where it's lacking any smart munitions
There is not buttons in mig-19? :)
@@bones10145why smart if u have to tell exactly where the mf have to go
I was trying to do this literally 3 hours ago. I kept missing the ground jettison switch step and gave up lol
Well try it again!
Unless there was a reason to believe you could have been doing this metaphorically 3 hours ago, saying literally is pointless and stupid. Please stop.
why would you want to do this on the ground though?
@@slickstrings The one who says things that everyone knows but everyone also overlooks because its a rhetorical device has entered the chat
Don't be surprised if your boresight has a fair amount of error or drift. Unless there was an effort made in the mission editor to put a very easy to lock up target far far away at the airfield. You will have errors in what your tpod locks and where your mav is looking. ED went a little overboard on this given all the things we magic wand over in other places but it is what it is
Just get it close and you are fine.
That's just how it works due to parallax, you need to do this procedure in the air, the further away the target is, the more accurate the boresight will be.
@@Madnot4 How is this done in real life? My gut tells me that wasting valuable fuel flying around to find and lock a ground targe to align is a bad use of fuel and time in the air. And unless a valid asset is placed there is really no way to get a good alignment. Where as this is obviously accounted for in RL
@MAYDAY SIMULATIONS It's done in the air, because the mavericks have a battery that only lasts up to an hour (don't quote me on the exact duration, I haven't slept in 24hrs), usually in real life you spend way more time in transit, we are talking hours in the air. So yes, the mavericks are aligned in the air otherwise by the time you got to the target, you got no mavs.
@MAYDAY SIMULATIONS this is how it's done in BMS, for example, because the maps are way more massive, and the time in transit is much longer.
And then get blown out of the sky by a manpad standing in the trees somewhere and start the process again
Fly higher
Fly higher like you're supposed to
Thanks for that, nice and short and simple!
No problem just watch this 287 times.
This process seems like such an nuisance, while this looks like something should be simple to automate for the software inside the plane. Anybody knows the history here why such a complicated process even exists and was not automated properly?
Probably because the f16c flew in the early 80s I think maybe even late 70s
Maverick boresighting on the current patch seems to be still broken, you can boresight one side but when you MSL Step to the other side it loses its boresight. The drift appears to be random cause you can quickly MSL STEP back and forth and the maverick will point in a different spot each time.
IRL: Accidentally launches AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground missile into the parked B-1 Lancer in front, repeat of the USS Forrestal fire ensues.
This is why I just play Vtol VR lmao, I forget everything
Plus its way more immersion even though its dumbed down.
Best flight deck of all, if I do say so myself.
Dude, thank you for making this, really!
Not sure if it's still the case, but it only works with Maverick type D and using the rack. You only have to align one maverick per rack as it's the rack you are actually linking to the pod boresight
Yep, boresight each station so twice.
Ukraine has the video bookmarked for sure😂
Thanks this is very helpful!
trickster your a lifesaver
These are fucking amazing! Keep them up! Love it!
Friendly fire will not be tolerated.
DCS has taught me one thing of particular note. i really gotta design a better jet...
I hate mavericks in viper bcoz of this
Excellent short and to the point guide.
Also have you encountered any issue where even after u boresighted the mavs the auto handoff just refuses to work most of the time? Having trouble locking up via auto handoff
It’s been inconsistent lately… I think there was a bug somewhere but if you lock up something more than a mile away it works best at the moment
Nice, thanks
I want to be fighter pilot f-16 fighting falcon
Cool! Thank you for letting my friend know how to shoot out his ex's car with 2 Mavericks! 😊
War thunder players: This game is hard, but the grind is laways awaiting
DCS players: I hate myself *enlists in the air force without the benefits*
Jesus and I thought my life in the hornet was hard
And this is why I don't fly modern aircraft in DCS anymore. 🤯
You're too lazy to create a checklist?
@@johng.2321 I think I'd have to. Problem is I own nearly every module and they are all different. Busy life, 2 young kids so I don't play them consistently enough to remember all these commands. So now I enjoy the older modules with slightly less tech on board.
I think that’s the problem, and I’m speaking from experience. Each of the “newer” generation modules require thousands of hours just reading the manual and countless hours have to be spent applying the information you learned in the manual. And even then you’ve probably covered about 75% of the entire module. And then it gets substantially more difficult when you add another full fidelity module when there’s a good chance you haven’t covered all of the info and features of the first one. I made this mistake when I bought the Tomcat, and then followed it with the Viper less than 2-3 months later.
@@pugachevskobra5636 yes, thank you, that's exactly the point I was trying to make. If it was just this one module and you learn it inside out then there's no problem. But.....who wants to fly only one of these amazing modules. So instead I'm sticking to the more simplistic aircraft and flying on the coldwar servers. Hats off to the folks able to operate the modern jets and helo's.
@@pugachevskobra5636 thats why i only fly f16 and ka 50!
Thanks
Thanks for the training ,but does this work in BMS 4.37.1
Yes it does. BMS has everything the DCS viper has and more.
What is BMS?
F35 would be like: “Alright buddy all I need is master arm and we are good to go k”
How to overheat your maverick sensor in 60 seconds.
Holy hell.....
Nice
Hi, it’s kind of maddening. I cannot get TMS short to work. My TGP refuses to go into area mode but the hell am I doing wrong
If I recall correctly, you're actually not supposed to use a friendly air craft or building for stuff like this, to ensure you don't unintentionally fire on it.
It’s crime to put TGP on right MFD and Mav on left MFD😢
You're joking right ? , the A-10 only let's you put TGP on right MFD , so people who fly multiple planes by convention use it on right..... What is your reasoning for thinking it should be some other way besides preferences
But @@hiei5040 , its still a crime :( (ofc im joking, and i think OP is too)
I just steal the Lazer from the airbase.
What does this do why is it required
There is no need to do that if you turn on the tgp and the mavericks in the air
Good luck
Can you make my dream come true?
Your wish is my command
I always forget, how long does the maverick seeker last after being turned on before having to replace it?
The maximum power on time is 60 minutes in power-on mode with video off. The maximum full power mode (when video is visible) is 30 minutes.
TMS right do not exit from SP mode anymore with Maverick sellected . When did they changed this?
ya im having the same issue is this a bug?
Now does this also boresight the other ones on the pylon? I remember seeing something about it only boresighting the first ones launched.
You only have to do each station; so twice even if you have more than 1 per launder
@@TrickerDCS Good to know, thank you. Great tutorials.
Can you make a tutorial how to start the TF-51
My buddy Sport has you covered
ua-cam.com/users/shortsbq-edpL_mig
Should this work now? Immediatly after "detaching" myself from maverick (like switching station or making tpod soi) after boresighting one, it seems to lose boresight. everything seems to go as it should, but when testing "did it work->move the tpod" the drift is just about the same as it was before boresighting the missile. Same thing if I boresight many missiles and press missile step, i never can get back to boresighted one. What am I missing, or is this just not working right now...?
and why my tpod looks somewhere not in front when pressing SP :O Thats totally new bonus :D
National Security violation.
Lol well maybe if you've already stolen an armed f16 😊😊
Can I turn off mavericks before this or I must takeoff with them on until rifle?
Mav's only have a 30 minute contiguous online time. If you have a long flight turn them off and back on when you get closer.
You have to do this for every single maverick?
Each station, so twice
Could it be anymore complicated lol
Too many steps just to make a simple boresight. This is why engineers should be pilots 😂
Will this tutorial help me get a girlfriend?
No, but it will help you get more intimate with your F16 XD
Yes
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not complicated at all ...
It is easier in the video game.
You lost me
whats TMS?
TMS stands for target management switch, its a 4 way hat on the joystick of the F16 (DMS, Display management switch is next to it.)
target management switch. search TMS in keybinds search area
mannnn if only u could do this for the blk10 F16A in war thunder
would make the F16 too fun to play, I
suppose xD
Old
Ukrainian pilots, take note
.How can this be allowed? This should be a National Security. Opsec and Comsec included.
It’s public information, declassified. Anything still classified is simply not implemented in the game.
