On that D2 not sure of the other critical settings you used in this video, but in general, I think the reason why frequency shift level 0 was less responsive to the ring than at level 6 is because freq shift level 0 limits the D2 frequency to about 35 kHz and level 6 allows it to go up to the full 40 kHz. You know that gold responds to higher frequencies better, so I think that could be the reason. The default shift level on my D2 (Version 2.0) is level 3 on all the factory programs but one. Of course, your environment may not allow you to run up at 40kHz but it’s good that its adjustable to whatever achieves the most efficient (quiet) setting for your beach. Other detectors that give the appearance of being more "stable" may just be revealing the by-product of being "less adjustable". If you compare a detector that isn't as adjustable as the D2, then you’re stuck with what you got and you will see the same results repeated every time (good or bad) because you can't change it to compare. What you think?✌
Not much difference…. but enough for you to notice it in the video right? I’ll take every advantage I can eke out of it…. BTW I went out today and ran it at level 6 all day on the beach and didn’t notice much difference in performance and what was strange was it seemed quieter on the EMI which is the opposite of what I would expect.
You guys don't have the heavy mineralized black sand over there like the West Coast. It's a different game. Knocks the VLF and even some pulse machines down bad. First to go out are low conductors then the small silver at depth until it's large high conductor coins only. They all got the gold at 13" in the white sand (quartz). Great news. If the sand is quartz where is the gold?
I have been using the Nokta Legend very successfully over the last couple of years. I have been thinking about upgrading to the Minelab Manticore. However, the more of these very informative videos I watch, the more it makes me think that it is not really necessary? It seems to me like the Legend is standing his ground very well against the Manticore? Mr CD, what is your opinion? Would you upgrade to the Manticore if you were in my position? Your advice in this matter will be highly appreciated. Kind Regards from Maputo Mozambique Africa.
The Manticore is an upgrade but is it worth a 1000 USA DOLLARS upgrade.....that will be up to each person. The audio on the Manticore is better but that is just my opinion...Manticore is deeper and gives better info at depth on targets....Legend audio is good...Manticore menu and screen is the best...
I love Minelab first off. But LEGEND keeps up with the MANTICORE so close that IMHO the price difference is just not worth it. My next purchase is the LEGEND. I own/owned these machins in this order: Minelab gofind44, Equinox 800, Vanquish 440 and Equinox 700. My newest machine is the Deus2 ws6 setup and it's awesome. Just know that the machine you already own is a beast.
I’m on my way to Myrtle Beach right now. I’ll be out around the Grand Cayman Resort every day and night at low tide for the next few days. Hopefully some sand got moved around!
@@detector2guns This will be my third time there. Got a 1 ct diamond ring last time which was a little over a month ago. I’m hoping lightning strikes again!
DT is like the boost mode on the old Kruzer I had. SOmetimes it works great, sometimes it makes things worse lol. I'll only use on ground I've already tested in regular mode.
Woohoo!! That was a honker of a ring! 14g 22kt.....I'm digging 90s whatever regardless, usually dimes, quarters, or silver 😎 Will definitely help out some of your followers that hunt mostly beach instead of soil or diving. Thank you Calabash, as always 🙏 Hope you had a good time in that lovely weather 🤪😅
@@calabashdiggeradventures I found two 1g 24ct Swiss gold bars about two weeks ago holed and made into a necklace pendant. They rang up 59 vdi on the manticore. Has changed my view on gold and vdi. M9 coil is a ripper👍
I got my triple score a few days ago after doing some tests i noticed it was very "chatty". In field or park mode. m1 and m2 with sensitivity anywhere from 7 and above i have alot of chatter even just holding the coil up in the air and walking my foot steps set it off. Or just lightly shacking the machine. I obviously do noise cancel even tho my test area is in the middle of nowhere and all other setting stock. Latest Update. I've seen many similar reports of this on the Nokta Score FB page. Any help would be appreciated.
With the Manticore unless totally submerged I have trouble with ghosting, I over come it with lower sensitivity, anyone else with this problem. The box 600 and 800 are always quiet in the salt water

@@Chuck-js8dy Tne legend for Mr has been great. The triple Is pretty much the same machine without the bells n whistles. The elite Is nice... but its minelab so they break easily.
what were the settings for the manticore? ive been using low conductors beach setting at 22 sens in ocean, sense any higher its way too erratic with falsing. im in the philippines. 😊👍
@calabashdiggeradventures same as yours my upper is at 4 lower is 0. Some gold has come in at 1 according to other vids I've seen. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Some days in the surf the machine is so quiet except the chatter I think it's not working till I put the scoop near it.
@@calabashdiggeradventures I was using it but seemed like it misses small gold and was erratic. coins too, loves copper bit the others it barely picks up. great machine just need more tweaking to find the sweet spot. Good video. Thanks CD. Some good info. Good luck to you and your friend tomorrow.
Thanks 👍
Manticore rocked those two targets.
