That’s not entirely true. The German military has extremely unusually high standards for what they consider “ready”, which is why you hear so many stories about weirdly low combat readiness. They’ll deem a vehicle not “ready” if it has a taillight out.
The conversation of how "tanks are obsolete" has been around for half a century if not longer. I believe it, when I see it actually coming true. Just because 50 years old equipment is doing poorly doesn't mean that tanks are obsolete. The tanks that russia is using certainly seem to be though. Mainly because those artifacts belong to museum.

Frontline vs backline states and also no limits placed on the military THREE TIMES in the last 100 something years. Germany after 2+4 was told to limit its army drastically so that’s what it did. @@Arcaryon This is honestly the most stupid comment i've ever read, a nuclear umbrella is all you need if you're perfectly happy with ending the world, noone wants war to escalate to nukes so conventional weaponry is a necessity
Germany has a bigger defense industry. In case of war, it could produce a lot of equipment. Bureaucracy (what is the biggest problem of the German Bundeswehr and government) could get really fast limited, because the government can committing the industry to do what ever they need in case of war. Big concerns would swap to other production lines, like back in the days. In addition, the conscripted part of the population would be conscripted. Numbers and statistics can be fixed quickly. But the biggest argument for not having all these and a big hell of an army is probably the fact that some nukes would relatively easily end the game for every single one, size does not matter any more and it is questionable to invest in a big army again, because it is literally a waste of humanity, money, time and resources (for the whole world as one).
@@huskilv22 Yeah that’s true… just sucks that it means that a lot more money is going to be wasted on literally nothing😂 Poland is making its much smaller budget work, and is aiming for over a thousand tanks, ten thousand IFV’s and APC’s, 1000-1500 Self Propelled Howitzers and so on. I have spent over 20 years studying warfare and strategy Let me enlighten you Tanks are not obsolete, they are merely temporarily irrelevant The fact is that the way of waging armored warfare has not changed since its invention and in the digital age of drones and high-tech where versatile infantry can outflank and even outgun a tank that 20th century idea of how we use tanks and what role they have is indeed obsolete itself The tanks will remain temporarily irrelevant on the battlefield for a couple of decades at least as newer types of combat vehicles, much faster and still capable of inflicting severe damage on other vehicles and infantry alike while also keeping up with friendly units, will take the tank's place indefinitely Eventually tanks will inevitably come back as a fully relevant force on the battlefield but the way we use them and the technologies to protect the tanks and make them more potent will have to change before that happens So yes, in modern days one could say that tanks in a modern open war are barely relevant anymore but tanks themselves are not entirely obsolete at all and will not remain irrelevant forever as the mutation of the tank's role and methods of use in the modern age is but a temporary setback for the tank Armored warfare is still in its infancy and has many centuries to go before it sees itself replaced with a new type of warfare doctrine as the battlefield of tomorrow will only require more and more fast and versatile combat platforms to operate in the ever increasing pace of warfare

I am not Tommy but I am fluent in German so what I can tell you is that while there are some similarities, it’s still quite different. English may have some exceptions but overall, it’s a fairly simple language to learn with a nice amount of complexity from a strictly German perspective - the grammar is relatively straightforward and things like having no varying pronounces saves a lot of time ( the sun - die Sonne vs the apple - der Apfel ) and makes mastering the language a lot more achievable in a timely manner. Learning the far more distant _spoken_ modern Chinese ( mandarin ) for instance is also fairly simply grammatically apart from the need to be very precise with the pronunciation because the grammar is fairly straightforward but written Chinese is a nightmare for obvious reasons - another added benefit for English, which lacks special letters like ö/œ etc. The romanic French on the other hand is much more difficult grammatically ( though you can at least actually read it without too much trouble in a native format which helps a lot with increasing one’s skill ) not least of who h because it has all these different gendered pronounces, le soleil vs die Sonne ( male vs female ), not even mentioning the plethora of grammatical exceptions ( so many exceptions, just like German, no wonder Francia was the ancestor to both of these languages ). As these three brief comparisons show, English ranks as an accessible language from a German perspective, while not as easy as many Nordic Germanic languages which are often filled to the brim with very similar words, it’s certainly one of the more forgiving languages to learn from a German perspective.

Really light infantry is just kinda there, and if they are used Wisely then they do not face the hardest conditions, and they probably usually face dpr/LPR rubble.
They have advantage of knowing the streets perfectly because territorial defense take only residents of the city they are fighting for but they get trained if they are in hot zone

German rearmament? Where have I heard this before
Sound pretty bad for me, can't trust the German with this.
but last time they managed to do this earlier than for 50 years
there light infantry since it is urban combat they pulled out most armored vehicles since they are less effective
It would be really cool if the US could come in and help with the bureaucratic changes to the German army. Just make sure it’s running smoothly, maybe send some equipment for practice, and then leave.
10:44 so they would've gone toe-to-toe in a mirror-image fight against a standard Russian batallion tactical group. In size, equipment, blood alcohol levels - everything xD
Remember the biolab stance, yeah me neither. Russian state is a joke.
bio labs are confirmed by the US
dont underestimate tanks, its like 1 company firepower, of course everything work in tandem, not separately, only tank and only artillery would do nothing without coordination
True infantry without tank is like tank without infantry they always should work together

not even close
Imagine facings a genocide, all your family wealth being stolen and having to leave everything behind to cross the ocean to live in a completely new country and then the previous government reaches out to you and demands taxes for the house you were forced to leave behind.
I genuinely don't understand how Germany is that rich, it's bureaucracy is a mess and a nightmare tbh
NATO law doesn't actually say you gotta invest/spend a %, it's more of a suggestion. Though I still agree
Tommy Made this Video with thé goal of torturing his Fan base by eating a Pizza the entirely wrong way
It’s evolving. just backwards
I have spent over 20 years studying warfare and strategy
Let me enlighten you
Tanks are not obsolete, they are merely temporarily irrelevant
The fact is that the way of waging armored warfare has not changed since its invention and in the digital age of drones and high-tech where versatile infantry can outflank and even outgun a tank that 20th century idea of how we use tanks and what role they have is indeed obsolete itself
The tanks will remain temporarily irrelevant on the battlefield for a couple of decades at least as newer types of combat vehicles, much faster and still capable of inflicting severe damage on other vehicles and infantry alike while also keeping up with friendly units, will take the tank's place indefinitely
Eventually tanks will inevitably come back as a fully relevant force on the battlefield but the way we use them and the technologies to protect the tanks and make them more potent will have to change before that happens
So yes, in modern days one could say that tanks in a modern open war are barely relevant anymore but tanks themselves are not entirely obsolete at all and will not remain irrelevant forever as the mutation of the tank's role and methods of use in the modern age is but a temporary setback for the tank
Armored warfare is still in its infancy and has many centuries to go before it sees itself replaced with a new type of warfare doctrine as the battlefield of tomorrow will only require more and more fast and versatile combat platforms to operate in the ever increasing pace of warfare
As a Ukrainian, thank you for your support, TommyKay!

just gonna say it here, saying that the russian VDV and spetsnaz is only competent ones is just bullshit. Wagner is the main force inside the City itself using actual tactics instead of what they say "orc rushing". VDV is mainly defending the flanks. also they advance by Shelling the area heavily first and then moving to ukrainian positions that are shaken or destroyed and they just dig in to that spot themselfs. also the UK article about russians using just shovels to fights was the grouping they have to dig positions in after they move forward. also the guy talking in the video most likely is part of the ukrainian barrier troops/medics. Also most of the Media inside ukraine is required to Make the footage heavily to favoure ukraine in everyway and Negative Media by a reporters can Give your actual prison time, if you try to cover the war from the russian side at all you will be put on a kill list or list for prison time if you ever step foot in Ukraine. just look up Myrotvorets that should give you idea what type of people you support.

wagner is 90% former prisoners and meat volunteers. And they all died mostly now, so regular army returned to try to assault Bakhmut instead - yet it is still in Ukrainian hands, like it was yesterday, or week ago, or year ago. Pathetic russians. Can only boast in internets using bots, trying to look like they can do something
So do you think that people should make videos in favor the country that started war? Very appropriate
The VDV is not only at the flanks. Barrier troops? Projection lmao it's Russia who uses them.

Tommy I have a question, since your German and English is considered a Germanic language; do u find learning English easier then most languages
Bro how is he eating his pizza???
