Cool is the word Phil. I hope they were able to bury the hatchet after all they'd been through together, and mend the wounds that had kept them apart for far too long. The music in heaven has surely gotten a lot sweeter with their arrival. RIP Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, and Richard "Dickey" Betts.
Wow.. what a performance! The duet with Warren and Dickey on Melissa was phenomenal! I was fortunate to see the band live right after Duane died and they were trying to pick up the pieces and carry on. It was night I'll never forget, they played on a flatbed trailer north of Denver, because (as I recall) their venue had cancelled or some such, but they didn't want to let their fans down so they rented a truck and a generator and played well into the night. It was the first time I heard Dickey play slide too.. I didn't know he even could before that. It was a night to remember, just a small crowd standing out in a field in the middle of nowhere listening to them playing their hearts out.
Best song of theirs imo. I listen to this at least once a week. I can’t get enough of the God given gift these men possess. That voice. That solo. Pure, raw talent.
Love this live version l met Greg summer of 2008 they played spac Saratoga springs by I had VIP backstage what a beautiful human being and intelligent talented man he was when I met him RIP
I love this song wish my mom felt the same about me knowing he sang this song for a Melissa I know at least someone 😢loved a sweet Melissa that's good enough for me want this played at my funeral..🎉❤
Great song, great voice, great band.Crazy how good they were even after Duane died cuz he was one of the best ever, and they just kept rolling and rolling.
Wow 2 of the greats. Gregg & Dickie miss them both. ❤ always sounded great live. Gregg voice, always on point. ❤️❤️❤️Dickie always an amazing, amazing player. Wore out all their LP’s growing up in the 70s.

1969, Jacksonville Beach auditorium, I had no idea what I was watching, Gregg, Dwayne and Dickie. OMG, so thankful to witness their artistry in person.
Yes, saved this rendition long ago, minus the host’s remarks. This and a couple of other tunes are emblazoned on my soul from my youth, both in sixty-seven. Something - feels like pilgrimage, autonomy, movement and more - the energy of it, something I can’t quite describe, but feel like deeply, intrinsically. Aspects of it feel like me, should that make sense.
1973 Ft. Lauderdale FLA. madly in love with a young lady from Oregon. Angie Pieanovi. Not sure if that's the correct spelling, but she was spell bounding!!!

Either "Always" marketing department missed the mark advertising to predominantly male fan base or women used to actually know good music. #dontcareaboutthebeat
Early 90s and saw this band live every chance I got. The Deer Creek shows were always fantastic. Brilliant band.
RIP Gregg. You were gone too soon. Thank you for the music you’ve shared with us through the years. ✌️🤘❤

The Allman Brothers made some of the best music ever. RIP Dickey 🎸
Dickey lives on everyday on the radio, the internet and in our hearts!
When Dickey reaches out to Gregg and they hold hands...pretty cool moment

Brings tears to my eyes, so freakin good!
LOVE his voice...love it.
Me too!!!♥️
Blessed to be able to see/hear this slower tempo and acoustic version of my song by the band. Truly a classic.
Such an AWESOME song and musician!
This song gets to me every time. The lyrics and vocals, both so haunting. Gregg has pain in his eyes that propels this soulful performance. 👏👏❤️
Man, Gregg had that voice. So soulful and heartfelt.
And as usual, the guitar work going on by the others leaves one totally speechless.
RIP Dickey. The dude could make the acoustic guitar sing.
Well, that made me cry. And then smile.
Great song Dickey God bless you n yours peace ✌️

If you look at the top Billboard "artists" today, not a single one has the talent these guys did. Its not even close.

Is Dicky Betts playing an Alvarez? Is there anything more beautiful than two guitars in harmony?
He's playing Goldie, his famous Gibson Les Paul Goldtop.
