    Really appreciate this as its nearly impossible to experience this myself as the qs for healers are even over half an hour long per lol.

      Ya that's the case for these raids unfortunately. Most everyone does them unsynced now either at max level or with a friend at max level. If no friends, someone in PF might help one-shot the boss for you. This is the only raid series where this is the case. All other raids queue for pretty quickly.

      @@EorzeanArchons yeah it's unfortunate they hadn't made it apart of the main story like the other raid series and added it to the raid finder so it would be possible to do lol

    While they make you do the Tower for the MSQ, it's kind of a shame they don't make you do these as well. As a brand new player who went in completely blind to the game, by the time Urainger has the quest to kick off the chain, you are no longer based at the Waking Sands (or maybe there is a very brief cross over) because the MSQ takes you to the Rising Stones in Revenant's Toll. So going back to Vesper Bay and looking for the blue quest marker off in the corner of the bar of the Waking Sands is something I didn't do.
    I only found out about it when I was finishing up ARR's quest and getting into Heaven's Ward when I asked someone in my FC if we ever see Alphanaud's sister ever again and they said we see her in the "the Bahamut Raid in ARR" so I had t go look it up.

      I think due to the sheer amount of MSQ that they already require to get to endgame, they hesitate to make these side quests required unless it feels really necessary like with the crystal tower. I do wish they had some sort of guide tho for optional quest content. Like, you're looking for the alliance raids in heavensward? > go here and talk to this person. Unfortunately, there is a lot of stuff in ffxiv you're left to figure out as a new player.

      @@EorzeanArchons so I think it’d be smart if there was an MSQ quest that led to the start of the quest line but then it’s optional after that .
      You know how when you are about to accept a quest that leads to a lot of cut scenes you get a warning saying “hey, this is going to be really long, so make sure you have time”, they could do something similar here basically saying “this quest leads to optional raid content” to make the player aware.
      The same issue exists with the Waring Triad, Alexander and the Alliance raid in HW and with the Auspice Trials, Omega and the Alliance Raid in SB, if you are just doing the MSQ you might skip right by then and not even know.

      @@andrewshandle Ya there is definitely something missing. It would have to be something they go back and add though after the main expansion is released as the alliance raid and 8-man raids are not immediately available upon release. Like in Endwalker, the alliance raid and 8-man normal raids won't come out until like a month after the expansion. So by default they can't send you to that content as it doesn't exist yet. Even on patches, like in Endwalker when say the second round of alliance quests are released, you need to look in the patch notes to know what NPC to talk to for the quest. Ideally there should be some UI in game that shows all the optional quests available to you and how to get to them and what they involve. Like 'this quest is now available at such and such location'.

      @@andrewshandle actually there is some sort of recommendations prompt that shows on login. I'll be honest tho I don't know what displays in that off the top of my head as I found it annoying as a new player and clicked the setting to hide it by default XD

    • @andrewshandle
      @andrewshandle 3 роки тому

      @@EorzeanArchons Yeah, but at level 74 I still get the "Hall of the Notice" as my number one recommendation. ;)
      But to be clear, I'm talking about early expansions, it'd just be great if there was a bit more forceful of a nudge so new players at least would know the content exists, I have a feeling a fair number of people have missed some truly amazing content...although, the great thing about FF is you can just go do it later and scale down, so at least it's not something that the player will miss completely.
