In this video I take you through the maintenance I do regularly on my 900L macroalgae saltwater system. I show ou how I clean my glass inside and out. Also I waterchange my system and describe my methodology to do this. I also test out Seachem Pristine product to repopulate my aquarium with good bacteria after i wiped it out by accidently adding tap water.

I think those might be Dinoflagellates , way worse than Diatoms... however Pristine can be used for both. Good luck, I've got them currently and they are hard to eradicate. If your nitrates and phosphates are zero, that triggers Dinoflagellates , but that isn't the only trigger. Likely they took advantage, after the beneficial bacteria was killed by the chlorine. Good luck, keep us updated, I might need to try the Seachem Pristine myself!
Thanks. I think it's a mixture of dinos, diatoms and a bit of cyano for good measure. Once my macroalgae starts growing again I think it will all dissappear 🤞
Will pristine help remove nitrates? Our 125 gallon tank tested to high and wee need to remove them the test water came out red.

I am guessing you are new to reefing I'd recommend going through all of BRStv and reefbuilders videos. never ever use tap water as it will cause so many issues and also was RODI not just RO or everything will get out of hand. also provides for scraping is using a credit card or something similar. it will never scratch your glass or rust and are generally tough enough to scrape off the harder algaes. you can even make a handle out of pvc pipe just cut an angled end curved slit in the and it will grip the card well. that's what we used when I worked at a marine aquarium 👌
